• the origional buildings of chesham the historic ones chesham is a nice place when u take out anything that happened here past the 1900s

• My fave building is the one on the corner which is now cafe nero. Why? because every business that starts there ends up closing within 2 months. I commend Cafe Nero for staying in business so long. WELL DONE!

• Brown Sugar next to Chesham Building Society and opposite OXFAM. Wow! What a hip and happening coffee shop where all the local pensioners go to catch up on the latest happenings in the (market) square. "Ooo Betty, you'll never guess what..."

Demolish It Now Building

• everything built after 1900 that doesnt mean that just cos the building that now houses a fast food joint shouldnt be demolished it should or made into its origional shop chesham became shit when it became commercialised

• Theres an industrial estate (Ashridge Road) near a car showroom which contains lots of ugly and unused buildings. A recent police raid found £250,000 worth of cannibis plants there. Dont worry it's all been cleared up. it's just that they are really ugly and you could change them for another part of town.

• Town Hall. A place where self aggrandising people get together to, well, self aggrandise. All this at the taxpayers expense. I've yet to see an 'intiative' come out of the council which does any good. I think we should time the wrecking ball to arrive at the opening of the next major meeting...

The Best Things

• the countrie side i wish chesham was back how it was hundreds of years ago when it was all countrie side with just a few houses

• One good thing about the town is the amount of pubs in realtion to the population.Theres about 21000 people living in Chesham, a relatively small town, but I can count at least 18 pubs.
• Loads of fields and green stuff, I miss it now i'm in a city! some nice places to hang out in the sun - loundes park is cool - bit dodge after dark and if you walk up behind the station that's quite pictuesque. loads of places! some good people live there.
• The fact that it does have some really nice views.
• There is officially nothing good here.. The people are morons, The shops are crap and theres too many asians thinking they own the place.
• Music Festivals held in Francis Yard at Drawingroom during Spring and Summer months. Beautiful park. Loads of parking. Tube line direct to London. Surrounded by Chiltern Hills. Open air swimming pool
• Chesham has two times per week a market, The tube station. you have just 1h to london. The Pubs
• small town spirit, but u can easily be the local weirdo just wear a lot of black and watch the mothers leg it with their young impressionable offspring
• The best thing about Chesham is the woods, hardly anyone goes in them and they are so fun to walk about in. The Vale Woods has a massive Dell (just a big hole in the ground) which is great fun to slip down in. And the woods is great to walk your dog in.

• The Christmas tree farm, Chesham on the road to Amersham.
• The family-minded atmosphere; EVERYONE here is related, mainly through incest and multiple marriage, so dont slag anyone off EVER, cos it usually turns out you're talking to their daughter's ex-husband's twentieth child or something. The real best thing is the Met line (but dont alight at Harrow) to Baker Street.

• The View from your rear view mirror as you leave the town on the berkhamstead road or in the other direction towards that other shithole " amersham"

• Collector`s Paradise - brilliant place, packed with some random stuff and a great place to find vids of shows such as dr.who, red dwarf, a-team etc.
• Pednor being so close, as well as it only taking about and hour to get into the centre of London by train. Its in an excellent position.
• The country and towns surronding Chesham.
• Chesham is the shit notice how people from chesham stick up for it, and people from amersham always just put it down stupid toffs and also how people from chesham bois try to associate themselves with amersham instead of chesham, mo fo's. The biggest past time of any youth in chesham is ripping it out of people from amersham chalfont and prestwood. props to da the shitty urban shag towns such as wycombe chesham and alesbury rep!
• The road out towards Ley Hill

• the gigs they sumtimes have in the town hall n youth club
• The A416 leading away from it in each direction
• How many towns of this size can boast a theatre and a night club. Thay may not be the best in the world but only sad un-intelligent people would complain of having nothing to do. There's also plenty of beautiful countryside around and it's near to Old Amersham which has a fantastic selection of restaurants.
• Chesham has the capability to be a really nice little town and has a beautiful lake with swans e.t.c but some of the locals are a bit rough
• EASY SEX

• Lots of open countryside
• loada phone boxes. and funeral directors handy if you die whilst visiting tip stay away from southern fried chicken
• Alan the Barber's shop, off the High St. Great place to bitch about just about everything and put the world to rights.
• The park, the proximity to the country, the Tube, the Burger Inn
• sorry, I don't have the imagination mind you the Kings Head pub is nice for a spot of lunch!
• The main town centre has an exciting RED BRICK road bit.
• The George & Dragon Pub.
• Being in Australia!
• The best thing about Chesham is it has everything you need in a small town, on the Underground to London.

The Worst Things

• WAY IN COUNCELLING AGENCY SILLS YARD, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO TO WORK THERE TO DO A VOLUNTARY JOB, I WORKED THERE FOR 2 YEARS VOLUNTARILY AND THEN ONE DAY THE MANAGER CALLED ME INTO THE OFFICE SAID SHE DIDNT WANT ME ANY MORE WITH NO NOTICE AT ALL ONLY 20 MINUTES AND SHE TOLD ME NEVER TO GO BACK, AND I DID A VERY GOOD JOB, SO REMEMBER THAT IF ANY ONE IS READING THIS AND IS THINKING OF DOING VOLUNTARY WORK IN CHESHAM, NEVER GO TO WAY IN.
• there is nothing amazingly bad about chesham it could just be improved in a few ways but to be honest i have grown up in chesham and honestly cant wait to get out of this place
• the person who quoted sayin "I suspect the people who complain of nothing to do are the same sad people who spend most of their evenings getting drunk in the pub or breeding because they lack the imagination to do anything else. Which is why Chesham has more that it's fair share of young single mothers and brainless drunks." the drunks aint got nuffin better to do than take the piss outta disabled ppl which is sad, you know who you are, if your reading this you ought to b ashamed of yourself, i doubt they would b reading this cos they allways spend there days in the pub, GET A LIFE, BRAINDEAD MORONS!!
• everything in chesham is bad, filled with pissheads, junkies, weirdos, ignorant ppl, slappers, single mums. best thing the authorities can do with chesham is demolish the whole place
• not alot to do going out wise, best to jump on the tube, spend a bit more and find something you'll actually enjoy. it can get quite aggressive in the centre on the weekend (like everywhere else!) but it's never good, not a lot for teenagers to do so a bit dull.
• After dark the streets are a bit intimidating.
• all the scum that run around the place thinking their GANGSTA and all the stupid ugly little girls dressed in mini skirts all year round trying to get a shag from the asians, you just gotta laugh!

• The Waterside massive has some of the hardest people in chesham in there little gang. most of ther the people hang in town but there is a few people that stay around the area. they dnt cause much trouble but when they do there is a serious police presants.
• The worst thing about Chesham is that if you wear the tiniest bit of black or do something different with your hair you get abuse of the kids, they shout/spit and try to start fights with you. And also if you stay out after 9pm you WILL get beaten up by the stupid drunken teenagers.

• The local politicians and the national ones too; especially the national one(s). Crawling out of the woodwork, or from underneath a damp stone to scaremonger (see the latest scares about Chesham Underground shutting down) the local residents into voting for them. Where were they when Chesham Station needed defending BEFORE the election?! Honetly.
• The "local" newspaper, that never has any local news, and when it does its wrong.

• Look, everyone knows Chesham is a picturesque historic market town nestling in the heart of the Chilterns. But unfortunately there just isn't enough space here (think encyclopaedia length) to list all that is truly crap about this hole.

• The people. I've been all over this country and I have never come across a nastier little inbred crap hole as Chesham. Build a big wall round the place a.s.a.p. They'ld like that.
• There is a dominant ellement in this town who don't like people who aren't from Chesham. They are also very two faced, so don't be fooled by any crocodile smiles. Unless you are one of their little club (who all stem from a genepool the size of an ants piss puddle) they are just waiting for an excuse to give you a kicking.
• It's a dump, the locals are not the average Bucks person. The surrounding towns are much richer and either look down on or are scared of us!

• Having to drive through what can only be described as the most hideous place on the planet, ive travelled through iraq and found being showered by a rain of bombs a more pleasant experience

• The taller Orange telecommunications column planned for existing site at Whitethorns Farm,Ashley Green Road you have 14 days to object.Planning reference 2002/399/CH. This could be 20 metres high instead of the existing 15 metres

• Chessham is like a much smaller (and not so bad) version of High Wycombe. That being because High Wycombe is 1)Really hilly - Chesham is quite hilly, 2) High Wycombe is very multi racial - Chesham is quite multi racial (this is not a bad thing apart from the petty racism, 3) High Wycombe is frequented by hoards of slags, kevs, shazzas, townies (who kick the shit out of ya for no apparent reason), goths, freaks, tramps, pikeys etc. - Chesham is even getting more and more of these sad types of people, 4) High Wycombe has high crime rates and is the roughest town for miles - 5) Chesham may get like this if some of the wonderful locals dont get their act together. Save our town b4 its too late. Having 1 High Wycombes bad enough, but seeing another beginning to appear would be hell on earth. SAVE US!!!!!!!!

• There is a big 'Kev' population. This is the name given to the egotisticle, self adoring, drum and bass listening, puffa jacket wearing scum who are likely to beat you up for simply being different (unless you ask them for pot that is).
• I wish the people who live in Chesham would prononce its name properly. The first part of the word Ches is the same as the river which is CHESS and that is followed by HAM . So it prononced CHESSHAM but sprlt CHESHAM. By the way the River Chess was named after the town and nit vias versa,,
• People who say "There is nothing to do, Its a boring town". If they feel that way the town and its people would be better off without them.
• Saisbury will have by feb99 installed a new supermarket in the Town centre which dwafts the place just to spite Tesco`s in nearby Amersham. They were so desperate to do this that they built a new tacky Town Hall and a new Theatre which dos`nt seem so tacky, all for car parking space! It`s rumered that the place will be renamed Sainsburyburgh.
• It's quite hilly
• The ticket-collector at the train station is ALWAYS there to collect the tickets, no matter what time it is. There are too many breeders in Chesham.
• Being gay, Jewish or an "outsider".
• An empty hole in the map - a depressing, sad little town where time stands still.
• The worst thing about Chesham is that there's nothing to do and it's really boring.
