• julius Caesar built a bypass round this town haha.... everyone famous has already been mentioned
• there are loads of famous people in hertfordshire this is where they all come to hide away see its a bit quieter than london, nearest one i no of is baby spice which is five minutes up the road, posh and becks lived there two not sure exactly where though
• Bernard Breslaw (Carry On films), The Kemp brothers (Spandau Ballet/The Krays), Suzanne Cox - Vogue in Gladiators, Baby Spice is in S. Mimms, PB, John Motson.
• The one and only Gary Russell lives in the ashwood estate. Most people in Potters Bar will know him!
• My mum nearly ran over Gary Mabbut (ex-spurs player) in Sainsbury's car park...
• I've seen Shane Rimmer (who is the voice of Scott Tracey from Thunderbirds) walking up Darkes Lane
• John Hartson the Wimbledon player has recently moved from Brookmans Park to The Avenue in Potters Bar.
• Um - I don't know about Terry Lightfoot, the jazz musician) living in Laurel Avenue; when I was a teenager he lived in The Byway (I lived in Brackendale), and his brother, Paddy Lightfoot, who played banjo in another trad jazz band, lived next door to him.
• Kemp brothers from Spandau Ballet and Lofty from Eastenders also went to Dame Alice Owens
• Ray Park (Darth Maul) spotted at the Gym in Darkes Lane
• Peter Sallis (Last of the summer wine)used to live in Potters Bar. Tony Jacklin, one time decent golfer until he bumped into Lee Trevino, was attached to Potters Bar Golf Club as assistant professional.

• Kerry Vaughan - hairdresser to the stars

• Baby Spice lives in South Mimms...
• Terry Lightfoot trad jazzer used to live Laurel Avenue. Also Martin Palmer, famous architect of Cranbourne flats, used to live Auckland Rd.
• Along with me, James Kelly, Baby Spice lives here, Emma Bunton that is Jimmy Carter, Arsenal Player used to, maybe he still does?
• Bernard Bresslaw (Carry-on star) lived and died in Potters Bar. Vogue from Gladiators used to live in Potters Bar and went to School at Dame Alice Owens in PB.
• George Xinari the famous psychologist, he lives in Church Road.
• Spencer Davis (of Spencer Davis Group) used to live there - don't know whether he still does or not.
• Acker Bilk lives next door to the house MY girlfriend (Diana Fox) used to live in many years ago.
• Acker Bilk (lives opposite my girlfriend's house). He is the famous Clarinetist who did Strangers On The Shore.

• Malik Malik - yes as imaginative as his name suggests, the local looser - he can often be seen initating people in to the "Train Yard Crew" - he still hasnt worked out what the train station is really 4

• Sadly 'sausages' and the old man outside the chippie have passed away but everyone knows 'BARRY' in the wheelchair and he is still around chasing the young girls!

• Bobby the fag butt sucking loon. Forcably thrown out of all pubs, occasionally manages to down someones drink off a table by the entrance, and makes for great viewing he he tries to windmill the patron as they throw him out. Tell him to dance and give him a fag and ur in for hours of fun. Also if he's annoyin u just tell him it's time for be he'll soon be gone from ur sight.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
