Favourite Building
Libuary
Our horse stable's
The Cathedral is nice and everything but it has to be Fisherton Mill
Military Museum in the Close
The Odeon
Debenhams, because of all its spooks!
The Cathedral, it domoinates everything.
isn't that obvious? It's Salisbury, a cathedral town, so I like, obviously, the Halfords on Southampton Rd.
Demolish It Now Building
shopmobilty they get so larey if you skate there
For god sake, get rid of
1 - Salisbury College (eyesore)
2 - ALL of Bemerton Heath :)
3 - Old George Mall (tacky & not big enough)
Friars Court
That monstrocity by the bridge which is along by the cycle path near the coach station!
Tesco
Building which is on the corner of the cycle path by River Avon, by waterlock.
All the snotty private schools
The Cathedral (just trying to upset the residents)
South Wilts Grammar School for Girls, followed closely by St. Edmund's Girls School.
All of Southampton Road and all of the roundabouts.
The Best Things
Lots of cool people
No trouble in the streets whatsoever.
very trouble free.
The countryside, where not far from the sea
Trains that get you out of Salisbury (not enough of them, mind you)
Our carriage rides
Summer.
It is a cool place with loads of great little things you have to see it!
New cycle lanes
Greate countryside
The skateboard park, Jacaranda, Stand Out, Momentum, and The Cathederal grounds
Friendlyness

Near the sea
Great place to bring up children.
Nice looking city.
Cathedral. Pubs.
I used to live there, so its gotta be memories of all the good times I had there
The Close, it is always quiet (except in summer when you have millions of tourists). The surrounding countryside where you can walk for hours.
Beer. Architecture. Beer, food and beer.
Oh, mustn't forget the market. Better than average cos it's not been nobbled by the green wellie brigade.
Great little shop near the station for pine and pictures.
The Worst Things
That councellors view on the homeless
Gippos and squaddies.
£30 on the spot fines for skatin'
Too many Townies (people who go round in cars that play loud drum and bass and wear stupid bomber jackets)
The abusive children. Moany pedestrians, too much trouble along the Town Path.
Our council.
Way, way too cliquish. Why does everyone feel that 'If you aint a lifelong resident, then you got no right to be in their city'??? Losers
Picking up the horse dung (from the carriage rides)
Winter.
We have all big shop names e.t.c but there isn't much to do.i.e our swimming pool has just been closed down by the department of health
Weather
Motorists
Wilts and Dorset Bus company (bring back Badger Line!)
too many townies, not enough goths, metallers or punks
Vandalism
Westwood St Thomas School
Not enough things for the younger generation
All those awful supermarkets we don't need
The rea is deviod of any real top classs sport.
loads of security guards
Traffic. Dont go near the place on a Saturday.
It's bloody cliquey - I moved there at 16yrs, left at 25yrs, and can honestly say that I only made two or three really close friends in that time - everyone else considered me to be an outsider.
The traffic system the town council decided would be a good idea. The amount of money the council uses on silly things like spelling SALISBURY out in flowers on a bank neara road!
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
Have Your Say...
The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.
You can tell us more about Salisbury.
This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here.
(But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)
You can use the add an event form
to tell us about events happening in Salisbury.
Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
