• Hugh O'Connor the famous model/ professional skateboarder/ international man of mystery lived here for 8 years
• ted heath the beatles played the city hall once
• Lenard rossited used to get his hair cut at the barbars in fisherton street. I remember who Barry Mung now!
• Rod Hull lived in Harnham in the 70's. Lenny Henry/Dawn French liven in Erlestoke in the 80's before being driven out by racist attacks. Who the F is "Barry Mung"?
• The ex lead singer of Iron Maiden, (before Bruce Dickenson) Paul D'iano, runs The Wilton on Wilton Road, suprisingly!
• Sting lives 4 miles away in Wilsford0Cum-Lake, and Toyah lives nearby in the New Forest.
• that archeological guy with hat off Time programme. Drinks in The Hopsack.
• Barry Mung the comedian lives in Salisbury and shops in Tesco! I have seen him there!
• Terry Pratchet (the author of Discworld novels) lives nearby in Broadchalke
• "Barry Mung" Drinks in Deacons in Fisherton Street (Usually a Friday or Saturday) and will tell a few jokes if you buy him a pint...or two!!
• Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch were from Salisbury. (I believe Mick is now a local driving instructor. The lead singer of King Crimson, Robert Fripp is a resident (Married to Toyah) Phil Lynot of Thin Lizzie died in the local Infirmary (Now housing) Robbie williams,(Among others)has attended "Clouds House" rehab centre nearby to get over a drink Problem. Christopher Biggins was born and brought up in the city. His father ran the "Biggins" junk shop in the city for many years. Ralph Feinnes (Film Actor), Richard Hill (Rugby),Andrew Harvey (Newsreader) all attended Bishop Wordsworth's School in the City. Willam Golding (Author) was also a teacher at the school. Barry Mung (Comedy) was born and still lives in the City.

• Percy Tropliss, (once lived near Salisbury, was a murderer during 1st World War) Edward Heath, Cathedrel Close Toyah Wilcox, lives in Bishopstone
• Toyah lives fairly near in Shaftesbury, Sting in a village close by and someone who was in the Bill ages ago.
• Edward Heath lives in the Cathedral Close.

Buskers, Street Entertainers

• One of our cousellors for the council has BANNED busking from Market Walk and called the homeless all sort's of dirty names.
• There's a guy who does a handstand into a bucket...which is very amusing, but quite cringeworthy when the local kids kick the bucket. we used to have a guy who went round town singing very loudly on a bicycle, but he died.... don't ask me how... There's a fair few in the Old george Mall - a guy who calls the Big Issue the "big Tissue" (chortle Chortle not.)

• The Hill Billy's who play infront of Woolworth's. They play country and western and are brilliant!
• The band which comes from Bournemouth who play the Western and Country music, the one's with the voilin.

• Quite a lot of good buskers, not many bad ones. my brother used to busk and he got a lot of money Theres this one guy me + my friend met who had a dog called bruce, and made animals out of balloons. we felt sorry for him cause when he left, we asked him where he was going and he said he was going to Stonehenge, to sleep under the stars cause he had nowhere else to go

• Pissed-up-down-and-outs in the Market Square are the majority of 'live acts' in the streets (or should that be dead acts??). However, there are often (actually) very good entertainers in and around the old market streets
• You occassional get people who are trying to get to Music College, but that is about it.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
