Skateboarding Spots

  • Yep its got one that I found, no community wall tho...
  • We have a skate park opposite the college, was recently cleaned up & made a better place by the local council.
  • Culver Street car park if it's raining... oh and outside the college too if it's bad weather. In the sunshine the sk8 park is great if you like big stuff or otherwise evenings outside the guildhall can be a good place to show off.
  • im shocked that shop-mo hasnt been mentioned. Well its sainsbury's car park basically, but the bit outside shop mobility. Follow the signs, you'll get there. Dont go in working hours (9-5) or you'll get kicked off after about 5 minutes. To be honest tho, salisbury is a bit rubbish for street skating, but have a go at some of the benches around the market square and all the other places that have been mentioned
  • Churchill Gardens - dedicated spot!!
  • Quite a good skate park opposit the college. Not many places you can skate in town without people shouting at you!!
  • There's a mellow metal mini in bishopsdown I've just been shown- it's not bad at all
  • afon totally roxxs!!!! xx
  • Churchill Gardens
  • well salisbury sucks now cos the best skater left...hugh. man he was so fine as well.hahahahahahahhahahahahhaah. UP THE REBELS!!!!!FWEPfwfwopwf
  • UPDATE 02/09/04- Salisbury park has had a makeover- driveway now has a flat bank on one side (run up) adn quarter on the other (run up)..... Mini now has 2 hipped quarters, one leads to a new volcano then to 1/4-flatbank-1/4 set up at far side of park........the other one leads to a box with 2 transitions rather than one and a flat downslope. Sub box being built as we speak. it seems a bit large though....... It' mainly for bikers now but that's okay as long as they stay on their side of the park and stop using the moveable flatbank as a wall ride on the bloody flat bank that we use to run up to the driveway!!!!!!!!!! You've got over half the park now boys don't get greedy aye?
  • outside ppml are some small tight trannyed banks thingys. bit close to road. better for bmx. plus the park is naff. metal? and it's falling apart.
  • skating in salisbury is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman. You have to have stamina and guts. You have to be brave enough to find where no man has gone before. You have to give as much as you can take. But whatever you do, bring a compass.
  • The Park. Opposite the college (as has been said a hundre times so I don't know why i'm repeating myself). The best driveway I have evr skated ever. Just the right height, pitch everything. Tis perfect. Theres a sloped grindbox, a flat grindbox, a 15ft round rail, a spine, a flyoff, a flat bank, a mini that's quuite tasty,a box and another quarter, leading to the bank on the box. Everything ig well placed for runs of stuff, and most stuff can be shiufted around to make it more fun. Salisbury is damn amazing for such a simple park, it's just so open and well thought out, and surrounded by willows and a nice park that brings the ramp slags running in summer. Except they behave and sit on the grass. And most of them are damn lovely (Salisbury enjoys an abundance of fine ladies).... Also the guildhall steps are perfect for any trick you wanna do, unless you wanna fly to the moon. There is not enough run up for that.Sorry. You can't miss them jusrt walk towards town and follow the one way system if you are driving from the park, you wilkl drive past them at some point. If you're not you will find them, just head into town. its not hard really.
  • Alderbury firs road rad place to skate it has tons of waxed curbs and a school to pull off sick tricks and a dirt jumps for BMXs. there is a skate park that has a spine, 2quater pipes, funbox a rail and a bench.
  • Salisbury skatepark is amazing near the collage on southampton road Alderbury skatepark nr village hall a great beginners park with one big ramp(6 ft)
  • Skate Park opposite Salisbury College

  • The cattle market in Harnham is a good place.
  • the best places in salisbury to skate are the afon(the boat house)it has a long three set of steps with possible grinding rail on left hand side,a 3ft ledge on the right hand side and pleanty of benches wooden and metal,if you think your good enough to skate the best stuff in salisbury then I better tell you where it is.the second best skate spot is the train station well out the back of it anyway.IT has a five set that i broke my arm on next to it there is a 5 and a half foot drop off just round the corner there is a crap little 3 set which is good for practing flip tricks off.Now the number one place to skate in salisbury is culver street car park a 6 set with slideable rail lots of curbs your very own security gard to p*** off during week days and on saturday sundays his vacation.Dont forget salisburys skate park just across from the college now with driveway red girder and newley painted ramps.now get of your but and go skate.
  • Skate park,guildhall steps
  • Churchill Gardens, elders even complained about that!
  • The skateboard Park on the outskirts, near the river. A big ramp, lots of little ramps.
  • Churchill Gardens, Southampton Road
  • Brilliant skateboarding at Churchill Gardens
  • -Skateboard park. Good selection of ramps and street obstacles (6ft midi). With little shop for parts and food. In gardens opposite salisbury college on Southampton road. - Ace place behind college by craft blocks and nursery. Tarmac banks of all sizes, wall clearance to drop and transfer to step. -Guildhall: four nice steps wicked run off and good run in. low benches and super smooth surface and kerbs. Library steps four and five steps. -Sainsbury multistory.Nice kerbs, good manual islands dry .
  • There's a new skate park just opened on Southampton Road (opposite the college). Can't give it a rating 'cos I grew out of that kinda thing decades ago. And so should everyone else :)
  • Steps, benches, curbs, policemen, brick banks, fly-offs, wall rides. Guildhall. Mini ramp in Kerly's back yard. Ask local skaters.

Skateboard Shops

  • Not many I would say Skate shops, they are mainly in Southampton, but we do have good skating clothing shops like the Animal shop & Jazz Clothing.
  • Great new shop on Pennyfarthing Street... very knowledgable staff.
  • Urban Hardware is THE ONLY skateshop in salisbury. Friendly guys in there, good service. A skake shop run by skaters. Stop by there just for a chat if you want, i always hang out and get free viewing of dvds even if im not buying anything! i usually wear the hats when the bloke who owns/manages it isnt there!
  • A couple of shops for skate equipment, Jazz & Oceans to earth!! A right rip though!! Your better going to Southampton or Bournemouth!! You can get to them on the bus from Salisbury bus station.
  • Urban hardware- they sell you the wrong sized board ( iasked for 7.75 and he taped me up a 7.62 whilst I was off getting money out to pay for it) and then refuse to replace it when it delamms all the way down one side after 2 days and 2 skates- due to it being faulty. Apparantly I'm not the only person this has happened to. I'd be quite happy to peddle someone else's business venture and we NEED more local skateshops but I am NOT happy about the level or service shown by this guy. I shall NOT be going back.
  • ocean to earth!p.s really cute and funny guys in there !!xx
  • Usedto be one called Amazing Stunts, its a hair salon now
  • all of the shops in salisbury are rubbish. don't go in to town expecting to get anything good.
  • Ocean To Earth, Great shop!

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Salisbury. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Salisbury.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
