Skateboarding Spots

• Down the road from unicorn house is a pretty sick bank
• round the back of churchill i cant thnk what its called
• just south of the glades shoppincenter in bromley is the sivic center this has a really sick 7 set with a rail with is a wibble bit high but its really sick.

• Since the glory days of '97-'99 there's not much left to skate in bromley. As Urban chaos has been taken over by some estate agents and one of the biggest cop shops in London (it's a tiny store now!), the ramp is no longer (That's been the case for a while now). There's still the Waitrose carpark. The 'manual block' seems to be spot of choice these days. The 'recently' discovered tiny lips outside the Topshop and Next stores. Pavillion's more or less a bust these days (security are out within 5 minutes of you getting there!) as are the yellow curb carparks. Though in saying that, one can occasionally skate the upstairs (smoother) level. Again, churchill insurance is a no go since the refit of 'spoons. Civic Center (Across the road from The Pavillion) is alright for the evening session. Harvington's 15 minutes away (if it hasn't been flattened!), but from the stories I've heard, it costs more than Bay66. Not worth it. Not at all.

• As a skateboarder in bromely, and have been skating in bromley for about 3 years now. There has always been Waitrose, the wall and the manual block further down. An old place was Unicorn House, which is where the business buildings are further down from the mall. Theres a set of stairs from 2 to 5 however the ground is quite harsh and you do get grazes if you fall. Top of Churchill Car park, or even at the bottom. Right outside Index, the longs set of stairs. Theres a two set and a three set. We usually skate there when the shops have been closed. The High Street Lip, which is right outside Alders. Yellow Curbs, which is the Pavilion Car Park, they have nice curbs, good for practicing your grinds. My personal favourite is the Pavillion. It has a smooth surface and theres a set of 3 stairs and then another set of 3, however they have put those nobbly things there so if you want to ollie them you have to ollie earlier. My favourite thing about this spot is the ledge, recently they taken the wax off it but soon it will be re-waxed. This ledge is perfect for boardslides and noseslided. The bad thing is you often get kicked out, but if you skate late they hardly do. The Magistrates Court, is a good place to skate. Theres loads of little places to skate, you'll just have to look for them, or make the best of what you find.

• No where Bromley is full of crinklies
• At the back of the skateboard shop, parks etc.
• Arent really very many in Bromley although Town Hall can be good. But dont forget Harvington - simply excellent 15ft half pipe, a double decker bus and various grind spots scattered around. Near Langley Park Boys - Dont go there at 4pm - too packed full of 'em. Only problem is it costs £1.50 to enter.
• hey people! im updating you all on the skate city situation! 2000/2001 - skate city is now called urban chaos and is very cool indeedy. no more mini ramp at the back of the shop, its just a pile flattened wood, sob sob. people mostly hang out on the top levels of the churchhill carpark and all the usual spots. if anyone that i know is reading this then hi :D but you don't know who i am ha ha ha!
• Ramp @ Bromley South has been removed, alledgedly to build a police station. Get a 358 up the high street and it will take you all the way to Harvington skate park about 15 minutes away. This is being resurfaced but should open up again begining of Feb 2001. Ramp at the ski slope has also gone.
• a ha lots of spots in bromley south including sets of 3, 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 and 8 stairs at churchill insurance, the waitrose wall and curb oppisite that. also unicorn house just down the road with steps. up from that tons of banks including the launch out one. also even further up that road is the glades with a double set with ledges either side and the yellow curbs.
• Summer 95: Mini-ramp and street course at the dry ski-slope next to the A20 (should this be listed as Orpington). No reports on what it's actually like. Most people go to the Glades car park or the Civic Centre on Sundays, and then you can go to the tennis courts in Churchill gardens. They have banks: small and large. The other obvious thing to do is the head into London, or perhaps go round to Croydon and skate Fairfield.
• Westmoreland and Bromley South used to be THE skating venue before they closed it all down to build a Waitrose and renovate other parts. Skaters still use the car park at Westmoreland. (Big HELLO to Jacob Sawyer while we're on this subject!)
• Summer '96: There is now a five foot mini behind SKATE CITY. (This is nice, although some of the trendies seem to think there in with the skaters and spend all their time hanging around.)
  The four foot mini at PROFILES (Orpington) is dead, it hasn't been resurfaced for God knows how long, anyway they won't let you skate it, and have decided to chain it all up. NICE!! The street course is nonexistent, e.i. there now is none.
  Queens Gardens is the local street spot. This is located next to the car park entrance to the Glades. Features here include; two foot flower beds two sets of three stairs and Glades security who threaten to make us pay for the damage to the flower beds. Many a good session are had at Queens.

Skateboard Shops

• Just urban chaos but now smaller cos of that bloody langford russel
• Urban Chaos, located behind the police station, it was bigger but now it's smaller because the house realtail shop next to it gave them an offer they could not of refused, but they have a very good stock.
• Now that Surf Shack is dead, the only place left is Urban Chaos. Though if you ask me, I'd rather wait until I get up to Slam, or until I'm in Leeds and check out Wisdom. In essence, not really worth it.
• theres a good old grunga shop for ye olde skateboards nd funkie punkie clothes!
• there is 1 skate shop - urban chaos - down by bromley south. its pretty sad and has an abundance of 12 year old boys checking out the skate gear but worth an investigation of you want some vans or whatever
• Urban Chaos past Bromley South Station. Surf Shack opposite the main Boots
• Urban chaos is a kewl shop, clothes/shoes/dex/accessories/vids/head gear/bmx/snowboard/mountain board its got everything! Next to that is the youth club but this is all down the bottom on the highstreet, nxt 2 waitrose and down the road from the hospital incase u get jumped by pikeys. Theres another sk8in shop up accross the road from Boots at the top of the highstreet. expensive!!!

• With skate city back up and open, it is just the best place to go for skateboarding needs, although there is only one of them for miles around and so they have an excuse to charge extreme prices. None the less Skate City is still cool.
• apparently skate city is very good -- a first for broley to have a shop which competes.
• Skate City, next to Bromley South Station.
