Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains
i forget their names, but there are two great ones on the camden road, near the parma cafe (train station area)
The Black Rose/Drag Strip in Camden stables market is great!! Lots of goth and punk stuff.
Urban Nation and UN for new, cool, 21st century gear including Firetrap & Full Circle; Egoshego for trainers; Rocket for retro gear
Cyberdog and Jupiter make some of the best club-wear. Also try swear, punkyfish and pink and fluffy... all in the stables markets.
not enough!!!
Camden Market, The Stables for clubwear. Cyberdog sells some hideous clothes- check it out for the music and cybercafe though.
Covent Garden market is pretty cool and there are some good bargains down there if you hunt around!
cyber dog,(cool clubby, electric t.shirts, bizarre trousres etc.) map, wierd t.shirts. the market-kitsch, retro, goth, etc. pretty cheap but the food stalls smell
Vintage/used place near M & VE. Also try Camden Markets - I found a Fred Perry for £10, hard to find here in the US.
Camden Lock area's the obvious place, but we say take a look at Insane as well.
Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)
the markets are great and at the indoor marketm if you go upstairs theres a funny guy in a western hat who sells crystals and funky rocks which are all really nice and all that so go and check it out :)
the works (publishers outlet) just opposite camden tube station. wicked art supplies at ridiculously low prices, and canvasses. Fantasy fayre opp. sainsburys.
YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT ADAM BARTLET'S ARTWORK. UPSTAIRS IN THE MARKET HALL, HIS STAND IS KINDA POSITIONED ABOVE DINGWALLS. HIS WORK IS REALLY COOL GRAPHIC ILLUSTRATIONS DONE ON MDF SLABS. IT'S THE MUTT'S NUTS!!!
camden lock is 300yards from my front door and is crammed to the brim with overpriced boots and leather jackets just for the tourists
I love the little home design shop, oh come on, you know where I mean! In the market, with a front onto the high street! the one with the trendy, plasticy items, you know, inflatable mirrors and the sort. I got a bargain pen with. 60p! can't beat that! it was really pretty too, with holograms. SORRY ABOUT THAT WAFFLE MESSAGE, I'LL LEAVE YOU ALONE NOW.
Magazine and Comic Shops
Mega Comics, Inverness St
Mega-ciry comics... not a bad selection and the staff are friendly and most helpful.
andys tuckshop topshelf madness!!!!!!
Mega City comics on Inverness Street sells your usual stock.
As far as comics are concerned, one has to mention MEGA CITY 4, which is right next to OUT ON THE FLOOR which you've already mentioned. Their selection is excellent, as is their service.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
Have Your Say...
The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.
You can tell us more about Camden.
This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here.
(But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)
You can use the add an event form
to tell us about events happening in Camden.
Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
