Skateboarding Spots
outside phils house on the fly off ramp watching nails do massive airs.

llantwit is sketttttttttttchyyyyyyyyyyyy! cowbridge is smaller, but its mint. really nice locals, usually a meet there most days in summer. both the schools in c/b are good, but lower school now has CCTV. its only there for about another year till its knocked down. the 6th form block at the other end of town is lush for skate and bmx, caretaker has a dog though so watch out. the play park has some nice gap and transfer setups and the open park next to it has a fun little slope to muck about on. Ysgol Iolo is cool if you can get in.
I ONLY LIVED IN LLANTWIT FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS,, WHAT A SHITHOLE(CHARDZ)
the comprehensive, frampton
Frampton playing fields
if your really itnto sk8in then go to a proper park, too many nuggets an old people about so you get a lot of hassle!
Not many skaters left, although I heard Paul Jones is still going, where is he these days? Down the pub I bet!!
Llantwitt or Barry "the knap"
The surf shop was 'Pugsleys' which is now a plush housing estate.
Welsh estate was a favoured haunt for skateboard racing in late 70s/early 80s
Skating in the secondary school is probably a bad idea, the new building looks like Tescos and has several raised rails round the back of it. The unfortunate thing is Johnn Trudgeon the caretaker has now retired and been replaced by someone much younger. Only skate here if you can get away quick!
Comp school banks much depleted, but not such a bust now. Also has a BIG handrail. 1 good (but small) street stuff in Cowbridge (5-6 jump ramps at various heights, a fun-box and hand-rail). Cowbridge Youth Centre has shitty untransitioned quarter pipe. Ledges in Llantwit (Eagleswell Estate). Good waxed curbs in NISA car park. Spined mini in Llantwit Major 12' wide, 4' high.
There's a halfpipe across the river from Mark James' place. Mark James is very well known locally so there shouldn't be any problem finding it. There's another ramp and several other fum things located on the strip of land by the old station (opposite the doctors surgery.)
Skateboard Shops
ahhhh the smell of new skateboard items- and that surf/skateshop that once exsisted in llantwat- i bought a pair of vans shorts from there.
The old skate shop in llantwit is long gone, point break and quiksilver shop by the chippy in cowbridge (mainly surf, some skate), and a few shops in bridgend.
point break, mainly surf with a bit of skate
point break surf an skate ia a bad ass shop get down there an check some of the clothes, sk8boards, surfboards an other goodies!
Point Break
There is a surf shop in LLantwit but the name escapes me [think it's closed down, summer '96]. It's near the town hall next door to Pickwick Papers. City Surf, Castle Arcade, Cardiff. Vast amount of surf shops have a small amount of generally outdated equipment.
