Sports Clubs and Facilities

• Its all in Llanbadarn
• Good swimming pool in Plas Crug
• just the lesure center in plascrug, or the lesure center down in clarach beach
• University gym / sports facilties, open to non students and getting better, good value.
• Frisbeeing is great on the North Beach - fab views.
• Good University Sports facilities, excellent gym available to the public. Council run leisure centre works hard. All sports available in the area.
• Skating is compulsory in Aberystwyth so you will need balls if you bring balls within the city limits. Rugby balls are exempt during March.
• Aberystywth is not amazing for sports, football is poor but karate is good, there are several clubs in the area the best being in the University leisure centre which has the benfit of being taught by Welsh champions and international competitiors Paul James and Anne Herlihy. The swimming pools are shit!
• If you want to try something different pick up a surfboard from Stormriders and head down to the 'trap' at the harbour. Classic surf when its working! If you havn't surfed much, head for Borth just north of town, its a bit safer.
• Best livery (friendly and reasonable with excellent facilities) at Tyncwm, Capel Bangor (http://www.tyncwm.co.uk.)Riding school at Rheidol Riding Centre, Capel Bangor.
• rugby training is on wednesdays 2-4 on the town pitches and womens hockey is monday nights 7-9.30
• Lots of sports,(most likely reason, cos the place is so boring people there need to do something!) Leasure centre and Various clubs all advertised on Flyers

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
