Skateboarding Spots

• The glass lift as stated above, curb-high manual pads at the weybridge, most of the secondary schools; in particular Haute Vallee or JCG. There are many stair sets and spots scattered around town or the island that you will have to scout out. Worth it.
• Esplanade skate park
• Town
• New Park, Les Quenevais Sports Centre, St Brelade New Park is should be open by summer 2003. The Plan is for a Concrete Park. This is the best news Jersey has had in a long time. An indoor Skatepark is being planned also, and hopefully will be up and running before the end of 2003 at a secret location The Victoria College Swimming Pool has a few skateable blocks, and adjacant Jersey College for Girls has many skateable features, including some great stairs just look around.
• The spot Jersey has been waiting for is located on the approach road to the Elizabeth Harbour. As you are coming from town, it is in the right, above the underground car park. This is a new modern park area with a large SMOOTH paved area. There are 1ft high waxed concrete blocks on either side, which allows for smooth video style lines around the spot. There is also a 1ft high block which runs down a fairly gentle slope for 50-60ft. Some nice council type guy has even added a metal edge to this kerb for some unknown reason! Fast is the word. Also round the harbour area on the pier opposite the bus station is the other main spot. In the freight area of the harbour large smooth flatland area with various objects to skate (things change all the time, this spot was featured in the Panic video, gary chevalier section), the smooth flat area gives way to a slightly rougher flat with a well waxed 1ft block. Haute Vallee school is another frequented spot. Various sets of stairs (2,3,4,5,), 4-5ft gaps, 1 1/2ft benches, 1ft wall with 3 ft drop to do tricks over. Another new spot is West's centre next to seedee jons record shop. This is a modern smooth square with 1 1/2ft high metal benches positioned so you can do a run bench to bench round the square. Looks great, but I haven't skated it yet, cos it's new expensive and in the middle of town visable to the police cctv. Most likely a bust/nightime only. The works skatepark has gone. There is a new outdoor skate(?)park on the waterfront. Unfortunately the owner decided it was to be a rollerblade park. Seriously, a waste of money. Fun for an afternoon, but you'll laugh when you see the layout of the park. We are currently campaigning for an indoor park. There are various other spots but not enough space to mention them all. Overall Jersey has got a lot of good stuff to skate (apart from handrails) but you really need to know where to look cos they're spread out all over the island.
• inn on the park has got a few bit to gring and ollie over. quenevais car park, behing the leisure center, look carefully for the decent size gaps to ollie. St. Peters youth club has a steep mini ramp and flat area with fun box. The works has been closed down till £40000 is paid so as the states can make it safe... twats break in anyway! all the secondary schools are good town is fun and has a few stairs around. green street car park has a ledge to grind/ollie/boardslide/break your wrist (you know who you are)
• where i said before in Gorey some bits of town of course The Works skatepark
• The Works skatepark is at Fort Regent leisure center (that's the massive wierd lookin building that overlooks most of town) and has a full street course and vert and spine ramps. The entir harbour area has loads to skate, including the docking quays and the New Elizabeth Marina, so you really have to explore all of it because it's so big. There are also loads of decent schools to skate at around the outskirts of town which are worth checking out, as well as out of town locations like St. Brelades.
• Three Rareunit ramps. Mini and six foot high spine. £2.50 includes use of pool etc.
• The "Skate West" park has closed, and the ramps have been scrapped. There are only three or four ramps over here which are crap.

• SDS is your best bet, as the skater owned Primo closed due to lack of income, the blame can be thrown back to SDS. Dispite this, its a good shop and sells all your essentials for a daily session. Skate on ...

• Jersey's first skater owned skateshop. Drop in, chill out, check it out.
• Laneez surf shop at St Brelade sells skate gear. Go & see Rob & if you are nice he'll give you discount.
• dive and ski, freedom, laneez dive and ski is in town the other 2 in st brelades
• the upstairs bit at the back of Surf Dive n Ski. Earth Wind n Water sell boards too.
• There are 2 main skate outlets in the island, Surf Dive and Ski is the main one which is in town and carries almost everything, and there's also Freedom in St. Brelades which carries a smaller selection of gear.
• Rollerblades are now the in-thing, and you can get parts for both them and skateboards in several local sports shops.
