Inside Information

  • THE BEESTON MAN BENCH IN THE HIGH ROAD BEESTON
  • Left lion. 8 o clock. I'll be stood there smoking a cigarette. see you there.
  • The lions in front of the town hall.
  • all the cool kids hang at the lions, market square
  • in front of The Castle is occasionally a good place to hang out but it doesnt really happen much in winter. its a good place to get away from the bustle of town.
  • The square. Main place where all the cool emo/punk kids hang. But currently (this is 4th December 2005 when I'm saying this!) the Square is having some work done to it, so it's kinda closed off apart from the front of the 'Exchange Arcade' and them Lion statues.
  • The Malt Cross is a good place for a quite daytime drink
  • Alley Cafe Malt Cross
  • My friend recently built a mini skate park in his back garden. its awesome. halfpipe, grind rails, roll-ins and quarter pipes. truly amazing
  • Left lion! Or the hook skate park, or central avenue in w.bridgeford outside boots.
  • Unleashed Madness http://unleashedmad.proboards23.com/ http://unleashmadness.proboards30.com/
  • Meeting place at the Canning Circus end of town is the cemetery off alfreton road where, incidentally, a cave once caved in to reveal that a large area under the cemetery had been used as a meeting point for a satanic cult for a long time. Either that or a handful of goths who met there b4 going to rock city had decorated the subterranean cavern...
  • Greens Windmill Science Centre
  • erm..... in beeston (out near nottingham uni), definitely the market square on a friday night ... or in fact the park at nottingham university!
  • The left lion and the square, every saturday i am in the square chillin and sk8in. come and see us all, we rock. also in hockley near ice nine and around sk8 shops like hsc in hockley and non stop.
  • Just for the record, the left lion is the best place to meet and his name is Lenny.
  • As been said before the Lions in Market Sqaure is a good meeting place, why not buck the trend and make it the right lion this time? But make sure you don't meet there when it's getting dark, it's getting to be pretty dangerous down there now, a few mates have been mugged, beaten up and whatever, so yeah there you go.
  • we used to meet up at bestwood lodge behind that scary looking hotel that everyone trys saying is haunted.
  • LEFT LION, IT IS TRUE THAT IDIOTS AND OLD MEN CHOOSE THE RIGHT LION
  • Always Lloyds TSB on Market Square!
  • dont go fu**ing ocean its the biggist bag of wa*k i have ever been 2 they let little kids in and last time i checked it was an adults club nott a playground
  • at the lions wiv the kewl alternatives!!!
  • Left lion
  • SQUARE
  • none stop skate shop
  • Market Square - unless you're 13 and on the pull, in which case you circulate the balcony of Broadmarsh, or so it seems.
  • Hook up spots in Notts are generally The Old Market Square, in particular, the Left Lion. Also, The Aboretum park (entrance off Mansfield Road, on the right down a side street) is popular with the student population.
  • Left Lion is a good one. abbey court or the texaco garage in lenton. broadmarsh bus station
  • The Left Lion - you know what I mean. Jacey's 8 o'clock tops. Fountain Clock in the Vic Centre. Outside BHS in the Broady.
  • Market place or victoria center
  • the aboritum (how on earth do u spell it?!! arrgghh!!) is a wicked place to just mooch around in!
  • The Rock Gardens - Trent Embankment - bring your own Mates!
  • The (left) Lion in Market Square, although now everybody owns Mobiles very few people need a central meeting place... awww!
  • Left lion for good people, right lion for people with strange weirdnesses. Its true.
  • Stapleford memorial Square- quite flat and got some good drops to ollie up!
  • Near St Peter's church at lunchtime, nearer to all the eating places.
  • Lets see, erm, outside that Namco amusements arcade there is ALWAYS a group of lads just standing there, not even talking to each other!! Bizarre!!
  • Outside The Bell, Old Market Square
  • Hmm, Beeston centre opposite staybrite, try that
  • There's a little hill situated in between the Social Sciences Dept. and the Portland Building on the Nottingham University campus that NOBODY uses. It has two little benches that are secluded behind a veil of trees and shrubbery, making it the perfect spot to commit lewd acts in broad daylight. Not that I had that in mind, I just thought it would be nice if people took advantage of this lonely spot.
  • the garden of rest, the best place to go 2 chill, round the back ot the Old Angel!, go there to toke, or whatever (??) oh yea, by the way, I LOVE YOUR MUM!!!!
  • for some reason it it customary to meet people by the left lion in old market square. Never worked out why people don't meet at the right lion as much though
  • Not just the lions outside the council house- it has to be the LEFT LION, cos the right lion is for fools
  • Ice stadium
  • The Lions at Market Square is the obvious place to meet. 8pm the usual time. Behans or The Bell are fairly average pubs to move off to. And then people go to clubs. Clubs don't impress me, but I'm not an average person!

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Nottingham. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Nottingham.

If you are unhappy with any of the content on this page, turn on the flags.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
