PMT man! It's at the very end of the road that millenium point is on, they have the biggest collection of guitars in Brum, and the staff are all safe, not knobends like in most music shops. I don't care if they can play Steve Vai tapping stuff, I want to play the thing for God's sake.

Rich Bitch and Robannas
Don't waste yr time with Robannas. The man who runs it doesn't give a hoot about the bands - he just tries to get as much cash out of them as possible. My mate's band had a downstairs lock-up and it was always rancid with leaking pipes.
Bullet Sound - Professional PA hire - these guys are great! - 07973325343
www.bulletsound.com
I’m in a band called Outside Reign. We have used most places around the area. In Birmingham there is Madhouse and Robannas, places we used to use a lot. Great staff and good service, except the rooms are not soundproofed. One time in Madhouse the room next door was actually louder than us. We go in Walsall now and use JJM Studios because we get the best sound – Oh and no unwanted noise from other rooms.
MadHouse Rehearsals is definetly the best place in Birmingham helpful friendly and best of all they've got a bar upstairs!
we recently recorded at Univibe recording studios in JJM rehearsal studios and it was absoloutely brilliant. we did a live recording and got 10 songs done in 3 hours and they sound awesome!!, next time we're gonna do a full recording with overdubs. the engineer there is a really nice bloke, and the equipment and desk are phenomenal. oh.. and they're CHEAP!!!!
Farmyard studios (www.farmyardstudios.co.uk) is a fantastic studio about 1 hours drive from Birmingham but well worth it (they provide accommodation so it's not really a problem anyway). The sound quality is spot on and the rates are very competitive. Check out the website.
PMT,Aston
Robannas studios is a great practice room studio, good selection of guitar and bass amplifiers, drum kits (have to pay extra £1 per hour for cymbals..but you should probably bring own anyway)
They do recording too, £200 for ten hours, sounds cool...recorded there once, engineer was a top guy..
Roabnnas Studios,
Oh, and for PA hire, check out www.birminghamsoundhire.co.uk

Pro guys, and cheap as hell!
JJM Studios is by far the best place in the whole midlands. All the stuff is brand new and my band have had an A & R showcase their already. Fantastic staff and great place - check these guys out www.jjmstudios.co.uk
Rich Bitch, Selly oak, has hosted such luminaries as Black Sabbath, the Charlatans, and some lesser knowns. Good quality rooms for good prices.
Puv Kales house 07810477325
there are some good ones as you leave town to the north side on the way to newtown. not quite sure of addresses tho- sorry!all the good ones seem to have huge waiting lists for rehearsal rooms unfortunately so you need to try and get 'in' with the management!
Rich Bitch, Bristol Road, Selly Oak. It's down an alley by the sue ryder shop near the tescos, and has good facilities and equipment.
Rich Bitch is the best
'Rich Bitch' recording studios and practice rooms on the Bristol Road in Selly Oak (0121 471 1339). 25 years in the business, the place has a good old fashioned Rock 'n' Roll atmosphere with a bar and pool table as well as loads of rooms, up to date equipment and engineers who know exactly what they're doing.
