Bicycle Shops, Bike Sales and Repairs
202426 Is no more sadly but on the upside Bike Pro seems to be having a bit of a renaissance. The outside's still in a shocking state but inside they're stocking loads more shiny stuff, proper high-end BMX and MTB kit and the new staff really seem to know what they're on about plus they give 10% student discount and even if you're not a student they're usually open to haggling.
Speedway,Harley (near HP factory) Suzuki shop in Solihull.
BMXers suk
BD price for ever
The place to go in Birmingham for BMX, Downhill mtb, BSX - all the good stuff -
is 202426, in Digbeth, at the custard factory.
Don't bother with Bike Pro - the guys who run it are clueless.
The older On Yer Bike Stuff is out of date - they disappeared, now returned round the back of the bus station also in Digbeth, good for commuter, road and XC bikes.
bikepro kings heath is ok
202426 in digbeth is the best bike shopin birmingham. it's run by a couple of guys who ride bmx and mountain bike so they know their sh*t.
D.I.A lesiure kicks ass and is one of the best all round extreme sports shop around. long live and prosper
If you are looking for a new pushbike, accessories, parts or repairs then go to QAC Bike surgery on Wood Lane off Court Oak Road in Harborne Birmingham.
Person powered bike shops, theres one in Harborne on Woodville Road, it is run by the local Blind School and pupils often help mend them and they are also resonabily priced!
There isa really good bike shop (the person powered kind) in Stratford, they sell them second hand but they are usually quite good if you dont want to spend to much, also they is mostly always willing to spray them up a different colour for you (for about a tenner, but it always looks pretty wicked)
Da bike shop under the ramp (the one under virgin near snow and rock and argos). it's near the YMCA (???) shop. The scott one near snow and rock shut down though, u used 2 b able to test bikes out the back there. It waz gud though......
Bearwood cycles is no longer open! it closed a couple of months ago. I Think!!! i walk past the goddamn shop everyday, and im sure its closed! lol.
Bearwood Cycles in ... Bearwood seem pretty helpful and well stocked with push bikes
person powered
the one in kings heath dont know what its called though ! sorry
Bike-Pro, KIngs Heath. Small, but friendly. Ask for Mark. On Your Bike, city centre. Bigger, not as friendly, but larger range of goods. For BMX go to bike pro.
Person powered: On yer Bike, really big, really cool, really mountain bikey, just at the roundabout on Corporation Street
Person Powered: Selly Oak cycles (0121 471 5110) (very good for repairs) , Ladypool cycles (0121 449 9988), Bike-Pro (0121 441 1199) (good for spares)
For push bike service with good humour and a lot of time to discuss things I recommend Selly Oak cycles heading out of the city centre on the Bristol road and just opposite the big Sainsbury's.
BMX Trails, Street Spots
There's a new Trails spot just south of Birmingham, there's been loads of work done on it over the winter and it should be mint, the location's top secret but if you go into Bike Pro and convince the staff there you're sound then they might let you in on it.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
Have Your Say...
The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.
You can tell us more about Birmingham.
This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here.
(But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)
You can use the add an event form
to tell us about events happening in Birmingham.
Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
