Pilot & Limeys in St.Martins Square are good for most designer stuff. Expensive generally, but worth waiting for the end of the sales, when bargains can be had.
Gita the Diva and Lindsx the chick Pilot for that designer look and Rackhams
Voodoo, cool, funk clothes and stuff
Souled Out in Hansom Court, quite good selection of Sonetti, Firetrap and all that sort of stuff. Marco's which is on the street that is at the top of Castle Street, whatever that is, but it's on the left and it's alright, again checked shirts galore, but has half decent names, Firetrap, Ben Sherman, Cottenfield.
Rollersnakes and Well Gosh in the Silver Arcade. Plus The Factory, The End. Also "Solo One" from Street Art Creations sells some very nice stuff.
Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)
games workshop
Museum on New Walke.
City Gallery - Granby Street. Has some excellent exhibitions from local and not so local artists. Very good.
Frog and Mouse art gallery in Cank Street sells a range of artwork.
The Museum on New Walk has collections of Victorian and German Expressionist art. Also paintings by Francis Bacon, Frith, leighton, Franz Marc and others.
That clarendon park shop, ocean commotion. if only for the name and the colourful sign. i bought a goldfish from there and it got sick and died. that was of course more to do with my maltreatment than the shop.
Button Boutique! Perfect for all those crafty urges, whether it be pink fluffy marabou or black netting.
Radiant Radiators, 7 Allandale Road, Stoneygate, Liecester LE22DA.
The largest display of funky and sexy designer radiators in the U.K
Well worth a visit if your looking to get rid of them old rads.
musiem new walk
silver arcade for its bizarre variety of shops.
Dominos, and some other place beginning with G near the market square!
For funcy nic-nacs visit upstairs in the silver arcade to find some original things - and hand made hats - you can design your own, if youfancy a bit of that. See the museum on new walk if you have an erge for something cultural - the other museums and galleries just don't match up. It has a grand facade, with pillars that look like the greeks came over and built it themselves! Theres loads of dead mummies (of course there dead - apart from a poor replica coming through the wall to scare children!) Upstairs is the gallery and they sometimes have clothes that you can dress up in and prance about. Oh and new walk itself (the street it's on) is pretty too with lots of georgian houses with big-shot accountants and lawyers counting their money in.
Andy:Dominoes toys. the greatest Toy arts and Crafts shop on the Earth, the place has everything.
Dominoes toys. the greatest Toy arts and Crafts shop on the Earth, the place has everything.
SET....very twee, very obvious but very nice all the same
PEEL : [ gallery ] Carts Lane ( end of Loseby Lane )
Woolworths
The museum on New Walk always has some fascinating exhibitions of art and science/history.
It's free to get in, and if you've got nothing else to do for a couple of hours you could do a lot worse.
Tin Fish, Silver Arcade For Froody Shoes
My sister, Gemma works in a shop called Dimension Cane on Silver Street. If you ever want any cane furniture, futons or knicaknacanoos pop in.
Magazine and Comic Shops
The Co Op
The Final Frontier has shut down, and Another World concentrates more on computer/console games now (but still holds comics). So for the best in comics go to the Magic Labyrinth (off Rutland Street or on it, I don't remember which).
'Magic Labyrinth' near the Odeon cinema.
Another World, Silver Street, is good for posters and comics and Manga videos. The Final Frontier at the top of the High Street, and Black Cat are smaller but still good.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
