Hook-up Spots (That hallowed spot where everyone hangs around with their mates dreaming of the time when they can get into the pubs or clubs - a bench, a corner: you name it.)
Outside the forum on a winters afternoon!
C&a, definitely. Actually, Plug studios is good, but that's only three hours of the week when anyone with a band gets to let go. Otherwise, C&a.
C&A used to be great, its now full of little mini-moshers. Its still a good place to buy some "ahem" herbal tea. Theres a little hideaway round the back of castle mall gardens which is good to sit and chill
The steps near next are cool, cos theres loads of fits skaters and moshers and goths there
best place 4 pikes to meet is the famously known C n A's now Next. but cos the market has now moved on to there it aint so good!the mall top fall has also become a major hangout spot for all the townies of Norwich
that bench right in front of city hall is the very best bench in norwich. and also any of the little kids parks after dark, specially the one behind the old hospital
Definitely Chappie Gardens or outside Virgin opposite Game, next to Sock Shop. Everyone knows where that is!
I regret to announce that NRP norwich ramp park (the only indoor skatepark in norwich) has closed due to insurance problems, as i am a local in the winter im pissed to say the least, there is a small park in mousehold i think, but NRP was just getting better, doh nevermind guess il just have to skate street, what a shame!not.
Chapelfield gardens...mmmmm lovely girls
Roxys are bonzo doo dah rip offs -I like my buskers like a duke box not vocal small pox-I don't know what that means but I know they must b stopped-I hear that subtle lead singer left when he's ego exploded oh shsame
outside next, there was a place near the bridge @ the side of the mall..havnt been there for ages tho, but as ive only just started i dnt no many places yet :( BUT! toolbank near the new homebase has loadsa pallets and crates and various piecs of wood/metal ramps/rails for u to use on back forecourt :)
Cow tower at night ... dodgy dodgy dodgy! ... specialy if you got shorts on!
out side river island in london street opposite hsbc
Magdallan square, The old pool hall.
C&A has to be the best hook up spot in city for alternaitves, theres also chaps or the underground kurbs!
near tescos metro or outside the church off pottergate is where all the sexiest rocker and skater girls seem to hang out..incidentally I reckon norwich has the largest quota of gorgeous girls out of all the cities I've been to!
norwich has loads of great hidden parks, to just sit and chill - convieniently tucked away from the public to get up to whatever you want to...
all the steps and benches between next and topman r where all the grungys, sk8ers, goths, etc hang out.
prince of wales road!!!!!
Outside Topshop or Tescos on the Guildhall.
has to be the union bar at uea! the hive of all social activity, my home away from home!
me and all my mates meet up outside virgin on castle medow, on the righht hand side if anyone nows it, and it looks asthough other people have the same idea.
C&A has closed, Next is now where it was, so there I guess. Outside the Castle Mall on Timberhill
Outside C&A (now changing into Next) the... "Bird s**t man" as he was known to my friends and I. This is a statue of some chemist bloke who is holding a bowl - there are always Pigeons on him, doing what comes naturally to Pigeons. Then take a wander down St Benedicts.
I'll tell you where it was when I was 14. It's a liitle drive/alley way thing directly off Rupert St. We could see the Rose Tavern from there and dreamed of the day. We could also see the residents of the flats and houses, and they could see us with our 20/20, White Lightening and the coolest boys from our class. Those were the days, although I'm happy to say that I can now wander freely in the Rose Tavern, although I still have the fortune to be snogging the coolest boy in the class.
My hook -up spot ( a year or 5 ago) was a far distant country where the sun shines etc. I had never heard of Norwich at that time.
Norwich skatepark is the best place to chill for skateboarders in norwich; 3 different size half pipes, bowl, street coarse, loads of quarters pipes around the park and a chilling cafe for when your nacked.
C&A or the Ones and Twos above the market are favourites of mine. Also Chapelfield gardens.
Tombland
BMXers - there's a track in Costessey, on the Atlas Agregates site
me and all my mates allways meet up outside HMV and then move on to the grovensor (well, i don't know how the hell you spell it!!) fish bar near drift
My friends and I used to meetup in the Castle Mall by the fountain and my boyfriend and his mates used to sit outside Oasis on the bench so if you couldnt find them anywhere else thats where they were!
Outside Tescos "Metro". Easy to find.
If your a teeney bopper then maybe that dark alley next to Macdonalds in the city center . It looks like Norwich's only bad area but it isn't . During the day a lot of people either meet at the church next to Macdonalds - thats where they eat it not worship it ... or you can meet outside topshop on the benches
on the steps in front of littlewoods
bench outside Top Shop
Hmmm... I used to live in Norwich as a kid (until '76). The best hook up spot then was in front of C&A's. There were some crazy fountains there that big kids used to put soap powder in. On summery days, the foam would drift off into the sky...
Where all the best skaters seem to hang out is outside Revolutionz, on the railings. That is till the security kicks us off!
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide.
