• ince park is the place to skate, have a couple of ramps but only good for beginners
• ince park is meant top be good for skaters
• Montrose Avenue (near UGC Cinemas) It's on the road "Odder (Or Hodder) Close" It's not big or cool, but it's alright in someway.. no grind bars or whatever and I think it's ready to be flattened (Stoney at the moment) It says "Medway Park" on one of the ramps, but it ISN'T in Medway walk street (Or whatever it's called) Good luck finding it, the BMXers and 'scallies/chavs' or whatever threaten to kick you off if you're there on a skateboard.
• The area outside the moon under water near marble arch cafe. all the skater dudes seem to 'grind' here...
• haigh hall from the top to the bottom
• wigan park has some good rails to grind.However not to sure bout the spine and quarters.Theres a curb ledge gap at the back of the cinema and a grass gap at the jjb stadium

• The Ince skateboard park is being rebuilt. Seems the council's noticed the frequency of injuries there and is expanding it so the local scallies can break their necks with greater frequency

• OK guys...As i am a fellow skater i know all the shit that goes on in wigan.. The lack of skate spots etc.. Well i am gonna put a stop to such things... Below is a list of the skate spots in wigan that i know of. 1. The 5 step on wigan tech 2. The 6 step on wigan tech 3. The massive amount os steps out side wigan tech. 4. The deanery !!! ( i can not spell ) 5. The large curb round the back of alans. 6. The really large bank, near the church 7. The bank ( outside the church ) 8. The church car park ( its got a steeep bank a 5 step a not so steep bank and the vickers roof is very low and u can ollie off it. Watch out he is in his house some times. ( they have allso planted a hollie bush to stop us braking in, i dont think they use barbed wire ) 9.The indoor market. It has banks and some metal things for slides and grinds.. Watch out for grannys shopping !!! 10.Robbin park...it is just flat 11.Waxed curb on the JJB in wigan 12.The center( you know it has that marble floor) 2xtwo step and some ollie offs. 13.INCE SKATE PARK it eint built yet but it will soon rock !!! 14..umm the 3 step near spec savers..its gnarley but still ok 15.O YAH sum times alan from allans sets up ramps and we all get together on sundays near his shop then we go around town... Call in on sunday and just ask what is cracking off

• JJB car park in Wigan town centre a huge curb which slides like a curb made of wax!! Sun day afternoon gatherings come along!!

• There are two mini half-pipes in Ince. Still in decent shape, though not many people skate there. We used to skate a tiny bank outside Newey & Eyre in Caroline St., even had a "comp" there back around '86. Stiff Neck's famous ramp in Ince has gone now. The Roller rink closed down and is now a karting centre.

• I think Alans seems to be the only one in Wigan. My advice, go to Chester, the place is booming with skate shops! Or alternativly go to Afflecks (Manchester)

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
