Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains
ive just opened a clothing shop on guildhall street in preston , i sell mainly girls stuff some guys stuff, quite a few of my customers are skateborders/punks . wondered if you could put a like to my web site . www.elysiumclothing.co.uk thnaks
AJ's
feltons army surplus stores lincoln st off deepdale rd
1000s of items of military and outdoor clothing
www.feltons-uk.com
Scene, pumpkin head, duffer meanswear, reef, Aj'z boardwear, streetwise sports, occaisonally... but most of it's towniefied, uuuuuh... if you're skint, go to H&M sales, there's some OK stuff there, but mostly, tis very mainstream, lots of skaterstuff, they sell good jeans, but that's about it.
Pumpkin head on Friargate....run by Tina, sells loads of alternative stuff at great prices. it's bright orange so you can't miss it
New Look is good and cheap but for good quality retro stuff try Rags on Friargate
Rags is quite cheap and has some cool things.
MORGAN
Retro Rags is up near uni for second hand retro stuff. Plenty charity shops and create mischeif on fishergate for when you need something very outrageous
Reef kicks ass although it's very expensive, the same with Scene. Burton, NEXT and Topman are good for midpriced and 'cool' clothes. There's also a place called Willy Banjos for alternative style clothes but I've never been there.
got to be duffer, or originals.
H&M, St. Georges Centre
Debenhams
Outfit, Deepdale Retail Park
MORGAN, GOOD FOR CLOTHES. TAD PRICEY BUT IF YOU WANNA LOOK GOOD...
originals in miller arcade
ADAM'S
miss selfridge, top shop, morgan, warehouse, new look, quiz, french connection, originals wot more could a girl want?toy
Reef - a cool but expensive clothes shop
GMT's - down cannon st. patches, badges, hoodies etc. for moshers, greebos, goths. Not at all for townies.
Lucy Jordan is great, aswell as morgan which has quite a big selection!
Gypsy, underneath the zoo occaisionly has some kickass secomd handers, a bit hit n miss but theres usually some cool stuff in.
only for the best dressed chicks in town. lucy jordan (by haji's takeaway) and looking good (down by dolcis) are the are the source of the most fab fashions.
Dr Kruger on Friargate, small but full of excellent clothes
shops on Friargate - great second hand & collectors stuff - some bargains!
Retro Rags, up near the uni, good cheap second hand retro clothes and a couple of racks of the ever popular pop flares and some original shirts. also a shop called Jet, which is further up, near the big yellow pub, but is hardly ever open. Ooh, and Gypsys, downstairs in the zoo, round the corner from action records, off church street
FCUK, Gap the usual kind of suspects. The individual clothes stores are your usual overpriced shite sold by patronising cunts. ORIGINALS are twats - conceited Duffer slaves with added agro. Avoid at all costs. Huckleberrys was good ( presided over by the charming Claire ) but is sadly no more
try rags on friagate for cheap retro
new look has some decent stuff in the sales
gmts sells punk t shirts, patches, badges and chains (slipknot, greenday, sex pistols) down cannon street
How can u talk baout preston and not talk about rags. This fantastic little place has nice cheap retro clothes, but dont be shocked if you walk all the way down there to find it closed with a 'be back in 10mins' sign on the door. (its near the uni!)
jet trading near the adelphi sells cheap and cool second hand clothes
Max value! the pound shop! rags is great 4 the retro kinda look and the cancer research shop its great 4 a whole outfit 4 less than a quid , if u r slightly more normal then denium fortress or just plain boring then we have top shop, miss selfridge, next etc etc
Stone Voyager - Chorley
Duffer- Preston
Originals refused to exchange my jeans as there was a really difficult to see mark on the inside seam....strange.....I only wore them for 2 minutes! BEWARE FOLKS
All the usual, but the more obscure stores are a must. Check out the student-type second hand shops for absolute retro!!
Barnardo's shop! Best selecion at prices even Prestonites can afford!
Originals, Ocean, Top-Man, Next, Millenium loads of em all close togeather.
Huckleberries on Lune Street, across from the Flax & Firkin, IS THE BEST CLOTHES STORE IN PRESTON!!!! The cool manageress Clare will give you advice on lines from Diesel, Hooch, Quicksilver & suchlike. They have regular sales & Clare always knows where to get larupped!!!! [drunk]
scene skate shop friargate
harpoon louies friargate (surfy stuff)
F.H. Clarke on Church St.,also known as "dirty great wide uns" army surplus stores selling many trousers suitable for skating. Take care- this man still believes the war to be on. Also, -even in the middle of summer- you will be asked if you're going to watch North end that afternoon, regardless of whether or not they're playing.
Club clothes check out oxygen for the designer coulture or try Willy Banjo for club merchandise and an eclectic mix of moderatly priced club wear
Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)

Akaban art shop rocks! It isnt maga cheap but all the stuff they sell is great if your doing a textiles project. Its near FCUK on Church Street
Harris Museum and Library.
Harris museum often has exibits worth seeing. it's in the centre of town, big old building facing the flag market (you can't miss it)

Good art shop on Guildhall Street. The harris musem is free and open on Sundays.
Hobby craft at the deepdale retail park. Hrris museum and libary.
Harris Art Gallery
The Harris musium - sometimes they have interesting exibitions on, but if not quite boring unless you like that kind of thing
Hobbycraft for all your cheap art goodies!
Indego is very nice
The art gallery, its big.
5:15 - genuinely interesting free Arts project collective that are prone to popping up in unlikely places . Operations are fairly secretive but if ther is something of an artistic nature -uncompromising and visible in the Town Centre ( be it in a disused shop or wherever ) chances are these guys are behind it
most craft shops are on friargate
Hobby craft?
Try Ozone and Oxygen. No one ever buys anything but still nice to look at and sniff
Worden Park in Leyland
although others disagree, I think the market is a great place---can find anything from hair dye to fresh fruits (cheap as well)
there`s a couple of very expensive arty shops in nearby Thornton.
Magazine and Comic Shops
magazine shop on the corner by the train station and the railway pub
theres an independant comic shop at the far end of friergate
Try Friargate, there's a few shops ther & ther is one in the Muiller arcade in the city centr/
Theres one on friargate...I forget its name but its meant to be good
WH Smith
Star Trader - looks like something from Spaced...
magazine shop in st georges can get almost anything
XXX NEXT TO MICK'S HUT
Thunderbooks II is now Star Trader, and in the tradition of good comic shops everywhere has started stocking low quality porn with names like 'Eager Virgins Monthly'.
Thunderbooks II, sister shop to the one in Blackpool. It's on Friargate, next door to Action Records.
