Skateboarding Spots
PNE is my fave spot in preston then uve got the uni near the su bar and library shhhhhh! the market multi story car park which has some funy grafiti like save the trees use a fruit boot the post ofice depot next 2 the train station gates are sometimes locked i recomend going after 6:30pm and leaving b4 10:00pm on weekdays ther is usaly wood and other things 2 make ramps with so put evrything back wear u found it we dont want it 2 bcome a bust ther are other spots but i wont spoil the fun of looking 4 them ureself ha ha
seen skateboards out side the guild hall, there is a ramp.
Train station, smooth manualling and a few fun sopts if u look around. At the back of the trainstation, kinda hardto find theres a nice little ledge and 5 set, also a 6set into a rail, but i havnt done that yet. At the police station there is a double 4 set plus they barely ever kick u off, heh, irony.
The police station. The uni steps. (check out scenepreston.co.uk)
Rumours of a new sk8park on london road hill, where the old running track was. an outdoor one, not yet constructed.
hrm let me think ...THE GRIND of course just dont get bloody caught in there, market carpark, memorial, the uni,the white roof ..damn carnt remeber wer tht is,fuck it carnt b arsed now goin 4 a joint later xxx
The Market Unloading space, smooooooooth benches. Near the University, some nice jumps, a few steps, good surfaces, all kindsa crap. Oh, Capitol Centre, there's a cinema, which has some rails outside, a set of 5 steps under the rails, it'd be pretty much perfect if it wasn't for the Chavs at the nearby McDonalds, and the tight security. It's in bamber bridge. Go down to the end of Church St, and you'll be able to see a white prison. Turn right, and just keep walking down that long road, past Homebase, over the river, and into the capitol centre. Look for the Cinema, that's where the best action is.
Outside Corn Exchange (always someone there, just watch out for smack heads at night)
Bus station carpark top floor (nice flat area with never any cars with some sketch banks and ledges)
PNE (ace to skate, loads of backs, waxed curbs, manny pads and rails)
Subway M55 juction 1 (just a big mellowish bank with some waxed curbs and a grind box put in by scene)
Guild Hall - big 10 set and 5 set with rail.
Uni (near the place with the big church spire)- dodgy (but doable) 5 set plus big 6 set (mind out cos security is tight!)
When its raining go to the loading bay at the market, it's the bottom floor of the carpark, there's always ramps being made for a little skate show
the docks is mad there is benches to grind, stair sets, and jumps to drop off
the guild hall steps have now been capped but up the steps and round the side is a nice 3 set with a rail.
The docks, uni, market, deepdale road banks.
OK, The Grind... I cant remember where that is... but, it's a skatepark, not great, but no townies. Oh, it's gonna get closed down in 5 weeks if they can't raise... I think it's £50,000 so, its beggining of september 2004, so, early october it's gonna close... damnit... also, the places I named above this you knbow, market, guild hall, the harris, church street benches...
the grind skatepark behind B&Q, wooden ramps & halfpipes, some damaged due to leaky roof. a bit on the c**p side but better than nothing.
small step sets by the student union
if you're a fellow longboarder the smoother quiter i've found are in penwortham. Head out of he train station down the hill, over the river up the other hill then turn right at the top. follow the smooth black road and be ready to stop before you hit the gate at the bottom
ther is also a seriously steep hill going into avenham park. go down the street past barclays and pizza express across to the far side of the square park and wonder at its glorius speed generating magic. just watch out for the sudden change of tarmac at the bottom, it's not as smooth as the rest and has caused me more than one grazed knee.
stanley park blackpool has to be the nearest decent one i know of.
Avenham Park and The Docks
The Grind behind the big B&Q near the bus station. It sucks badly and is falling to pieces, some of the ramps are rotting, literaly! Go skate on the streets.
The corner of the Liverpool Road-Cop Lane-Priory Lane in penwortham.
the grind
AVENHAM PARK
The Grind - which used to be called IN Ya Face. a cool park, £2.50 an hour to get in if you're a member £3.50 if ur not.
the peace gardens. near bar censsa.
THE CHURCH IN PLUNGINGTON THE ARE SOME REAL GOOD RAILS
in ya face skatepark,
nice 5ft mini, tight demo ramp vert, large street course & loads of rollerbladers at weekends still worth a lool tho.
from what I've observed, the young skaters like to get in students' ways on campus by the arts building. They normally congregate there and are thoroughly annoying.
There is a skate shop now, on Friargate.
HI, I would like to inform you of a new Skate/Skateboard Park that has recently been opened. It's called IN YA FACE and is owned by a lovely couple called Louise & Steven Procter, and is situated at Southgate mill (behind Bill Head's) off North Road. It is really brill and cool with a chill-out area where skate vids are shown, food and drink, and of course ramps, fun boxes, verts etc. Check it out soon!!!
A popular unofficial site is on top of The Avenham Multi Carpark Sundays and summer evenings.
There is a large Skater population I think, but there are virtually no facilities or skate shops but don't rely on what I say cos I really don't know.
