The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
Look down this list - someone has recommended Preston taxis for being cheap. Yes, they're that, but they're also some of the best guys - don't drive like they want to get you killed, not in the least bit dodgy, and so close to the Peel pub - what more could you ask?
Martin's Jewellery Box - across Centenary Square from the Town Hall. Amazing range of the ever-elusive silver jewellery.
The most electrifying SKA on the planet, in the form of FineApple!!! You can't spell "Alaska" without "ska"...20,000 eskimos can't be wrong!!!!

OK, so I've been away from Bradford for 10 years but the greatest places don't change. Like Bolling Hall with its own ghost, a really neat house and garden. The Cathedral just off Forster Square is neat and so is the really great cultural mix of people and foods. Not everyone lives for real ale and getting smashed off their faces but there's heaps of museums with really interesting stuff, photography and history presented in an interesting way. Theatres with live (and good) acting shops with a great selection of goofs, cheap and cheerful to expensive and flash. Bradford's Cool.
To come into Bradford, people have said to me "isn't it a dump", but Bradford is one of the biggest cultural society in England. It is very interesting if looked at properly.
The Bradford Choristers are an independant Male voiced choir who tour the country visiting many major cathedrals and churches. They rehearse every Thursday in Bradford at St Wilfreds Church hall and sing most weekends in a different church local or elsewhere in the UK. The singing is tied up with a good social routine. If you are interested please ring the secretary on 01274 774758. You can also contact a member of the Bradford Choirsters by email. The address is harold@mail.globalnet.co.uk, please feel free to ask me any queries.(Not being sexist but sorry that it is only a boys and men choir requiring trebles, altos, tenors and bases).
A good day out is watching the mighty Bantams thrash Burnley at football.

Bradford is the coolest place on earth (especially Maguire's on City Road).
Just a couple of general places of interest: Saltaire a suburb built in the mid to late 1800's by the local mill owner for his workers... Beautifully laid out homes and recreation area on the River Aire - now has funky cafes and bakeries. Book shops ok it may be on the tourist route. But it really is unique...
Best Cinema: Pictureville. (Located next to the NMPFT. Arthouse flicks combined with cineplex technology. Bliss. Only drawback: no fresh popcorn.)
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
