• The cycle shop at on Manningham lane at the top of Valley Parade sells cheap ex-catalogue returns. Paul Milnes supplied me with a couple of second-hand cycles during my childhood.

• Ellis Briggs - i work p/t at Ellis Briggs, and i've found it be be a well run, old fashioned bike shop, and a nice place to work. They get lots of repeat business from local families and roadies buying handbuilt frames, so there must be a good reason for this. All their products are sold at recommended retail price, as you'd expect, and some of the sale stuff is very cheap.
• I,ve just perchased a mountain bike from paul milnes cycles. they seam to be freindly & the prices were ok. I bougth a gt tempest 99 model for £269 was this a good deal? I,m happy,but they do have a lot of road bikes I think they have a web site too hope this info will help. thanks Kirsty.
• Whittaker and Mapplebecks, Thornton Road,Fairweather Green, serious enthusiasts and serious money only. For a laugh ask them for parts for a Taiwanese kiddie bike.
  I used to go to school with John Mapplebeck, so naturally I feel a loyalty to one of the greatest cycle shops in Bradford.
• Ellis Briggs, Shipley, worst service, silly prices, and they'll rip you off if you don't know what you want. But they're open Sundays.
• Paul Milnes, top of Little Horton Lane, road racers very welcome. Prices not bad but its the usual "if your not one of the clique its unfriendly service". Know little about mountain bikes.
• Chapel Cycle Centre, Chapel Street Queensbury, the best in the district for all levels of cycling. Very friendly and knowledgeable if you get the 20 something son. He rides on and off road. Good bargains available. Good prices, good advice. Avoid his dad, bluff tyke, not helpful.

BMX Trails, Street Spots

• Peel park bike track.
• Peel Park. BMX track located in the far corner of the lower playing feilds (behind the changing rooms). A fully active club is based there holding regular training sessions and race meetings. Details of activities and events can be found on www.bradfordbmxbandits.org.uk.
• Foster Sq train station. When you get off the train as you come out of the train station theres the spiral thingy's. and in the arches you can do some decent wall rides and behind the benches theres a mini quater. Theers some mad banks opposite morrisons at the top of town i think the building is call the yorkshire building society (i think. Also at the college and university just ask someone around town 2 point u towards it u can c it from the centre of town there are rails,ledges,banks and gaps
