Skateboarding Spots

• is there any skaters/bmx's or in-liners think that leigh should av its own skatepark? we need somewhere 2 go on cold rain nights after school,dose any 1 else think a real sk8 spot should b made
• Theres a 7 set with a ledge goin across the side of it. Library rails. Lidl. Leigh Carpark. Netto flatbanks.
• Orchard Close has a lot of open concrete and steps.
• Spinning Gate car park seems popular... Plenty of pallets from nearby market to create your own fun Rampworx in Liverpool is the nearest and best wiv decent ramps
• dunno bout skateboardin skatin was better. try waxed curb next 2 little church opposite the courts pub. Lidl carpark used 2 be good. thats bout it. just wax a new curb n u shud be reet.
• The co-op car park since it shut down.
• Good bank with sort of lip/ platform and wall. Smaller bank with wall. Skated most nights. B&Q car park gets a regular Sunday morning attendance usually from young skaters or older boarders who still think they've got it in them but didn't count on the 12 pints they drunk last night having an effect... it's quite a sight.

Skateboard Shops

• skatestop in leigh is a good shop it has a good sellection of boards including,powell,angle boy,flip and some canadian marpell blanks.they also stock some good skate wear
• Hockeystop. Isnt the best of places but still offers good skate stuff. Shop at NOTE second floor of afflecks palace in Manchester.
• Ohhhh it has to be Radcliffes!
• There's a relatively new shop at the top end Of Bradshawgate (past Iceland) called tThe Hockey Shop - but they sell street hockey, boarder stuff, blading stuff etc etc. Seems a well stocked place
• There is a skate shop at the top end of Bradshawgate near Iceland. It's been there over a year now and hasn't shut down yet.
• They sell skate boards in Ratcliffs, thats about it though.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
