Soon to be Queens Park skate park but at the mo 'the Happy Tree'
None, the council are now giving out fines for skateboarders on the band stand, the multi story carpark now has barriers to stop boarders jusing the ramps there too!
Most skaters hang around on the bandstand. You have your little kids around during the day but at night all of the 'big kids' come out! You also meet some nice 'gothy' girls and boys on the bandstand who are all approachable!
The Band Stand in the town centre - Burnley really needs a dedicated skate park as the skateboarders often annoy the older aged shoppers in Burnley. Kids have to have somewhere to play but not in the shopping precinct - they need a place of there own with really good slopes, steps etc, something designed by the skateboarders themselves then they would use it - needs to be somewher quite cental.
Petition your local council and the police and local charitable agencies,
work together and keep it organised otherwise the ramps wont appear.

BAND STAND AND THE STACK
SPOTS
- the sk8 park on southfield street is where uninventive skaters go the ramps are of poor qauitly and arent smooth
- in the centre there is a big kerb thats v. good for learning to grind
- round the corner from there are some v. good kerbs, but its outside a bank so dont expect to stay there too long
- outside the town hall there is a planter good for grinding
- the bus station. good kerbs and bench. buses to burnley which is ggod place to sk8
- st johns school on trent road has very long bench and some beginer step set but beware the people around there calll teh police at the sign of trouble
- the car park outside kwik save is good for the inventive
skate on the bandstand. or st peters.
Update.....the "driveway type deal" I mentioned earlier has been added to,just a wee little quarterpipe to the side, but it makes it more fun.
Bench in front of the Old Quay Pub, on the little road on East Side of Marsh lots of curbs rails and a 2 Decent sets of steps, Old Quay Pub car park but dont stick around too long as the Managers a bit Gnarly!!
Entrance to Grenfel Park about 30 yrds up from Old Quay
U.R.C. Church on left hand side of road on cross roads coming from the Cross in Neston to Parkgate along P'gate rd. Primary School yard loads of benches a set of small steps.
new little driveway-type deal,in the park just above manchester rd. train station.st peters car park,Ive skated there for ten tears and im not bored. And if youre skating in burnley,go to accrington later and skate some more.
The majority of skaters meet up at St Peter's car park which is near Sainsburys, it used to be on a Sunday afternoon. As well as the usual school playgrounds and car-parks there is a relatively new half-pipe at Padiham (a nearby town). It was built round about '93 by Burnley Council as part of their leisure policy. It's totally public, it's made of metal, it's maybe 10 feet + high... I haven't actually seen it for a bit being down here but the next time I go back up I'll have a closer look and let you know more. I'll also give you directions for it... Head out of Burnley following the signposts for Padiham and keep following the straight road for maybe 3-4 miles, as you get into what is laughably called Padiham Centre you will see a sign pointing to the left saying "Padiham Pool" or swimming baths or waste recycling centre, follow this sign and the ramp is situated next to the Pool. aflex palace, Manchester
East Village

Burnley's had a skateshop for a little while now,it's pretty good too,it's called "EastVillage" and it's on St. James's st.,opposite the Comfort Hotel. They also sell tunes(vinyl only of course)and they are a nice bunch of chaps.
new!"east village"skate+clothing+vinyl shop.not bad either(surprising for burnley)
Not a lot in the way of skate-shops, Benn Sports may stock a few things as do some cycle shops but there's nothing radical.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
