Food
There is a dreadful chinese takeaway in the High Street. The Indian down the road NEVER seems to have any customers!!! The best place to go is Liss.
I can't remeber the name of it but theres an Italian resturant somewhere near the parish church...the one with the green red and white window shutters.
the suckwell diner burger bar
Fina of Picasso's has left to make way for the new owners, Charlie and the guy from Folly's of Petersfield. The Mida has also shut and is now a house! Other good food places are The Unicorn at Heyshott. Hamilton Arms at Stedham.
Picasso's, The Mida. Lots of good food from cheap pubs to very expensive restaraunts.
Chinese takeaway in the high street and an Indian restaurant at the bottom of the High Street that does take aways. Oh for a Pizza delivery service!
Pubs
PUBS PUBS PUBS PUBS PUBS!!!!!!!!
the bricklayers in west street, the swan in church hill are very good fun and friendly pubs
The Bricks is good for a trad english drink. Picasso is good - I know the owner Charlie & he's fab!!!
How the heck should I know? I'm only thirteen! But from what I've heard the spread Eagle hotel Pub is pretty damn good!1
The Half Moon was nice while it was pound a pint, where's the attraction now? The Silver Shoes, well can't go in there cos of the inbreds - two heads are better than one! The Angel, would go in there but I'm a student. The Royal Oak, quiet place, all the atmosphere of a graveyard - the resident parrot is the most interesting conversation. The Bricks, full of footballers and polo players. The Crown, nice paint job mate - used to go there before I had any hair on my chest.
The Bricklayers Arms is by far the best pub in town, and I'm not just saying that because I live there.
Bricklayers Arms? - Stuart and Peggy Cockburn?
The correct spelling is THE WHEATSHEAF not The Weat Sheef!
The Crown is still the young person's pub of Midhurst but us oldies still go there! The Bricks is also pretty busy with football lads and girls. The Royal Oak is now like a roadside Little Chef-no one goes in there. The Greyhound is also a popular place. The Unicorn is the up and coming place to be seen though.
The Crown, The Swan, The Bricklayers Arms, The Silver Horse Shoes, The Weat Sheef, The Grey Hound, (The Unicorn (nearly)) Loads for such a small town.
The Crown, The Swan, The Bricklayers, The Royal Oak, The Greyhound - lots to choose from.
The Royal Oak is a nice pub to go into for a quiet drink. Also it's one of the only pubs in the town which is not full of 13 year old spotty kids. I think that everyone should know that the Royak Oak (the great place that it is) is under SEVERE renovation [1997], thus meaning that only HALF the pub is actually functional. This also means that unless you like the feeling of being stuck in a hot lift with lots of sweaty old geezers, you are best to steer clear for the time being! (Also, the blue plastic sheeting that seperates the pub isn't very picturesque!).
There are over ten pubs and restaurants of which "The Angel" and "The Spread Eagle" hotels are the most luxurious. "The Crown" is a mecca for younger people who come from miles around, especially on a Friday night.
Cafes and Coffee Shops
the tea pot in north street is one to try ,for a more relaxed and enjoyable snack or meal,it has also got very good and polite staff.
For such a small town, Midhurst has a variety of cafes and such-like.
The Rockwell Diner serves a good breakfast for the morning after!!
OOhhh!!! Midhurst has some of the best cafes in England! The Tuck shop cafe(otherwise known as the coffee pot), Ricos (my FAVORITE)and way too many others to name!
