• George Best drinks in the Square B. One of the blokes from Pink Floyd lives in town and Foggys attracts a few C-List pop stars every so often.

• Erica Rowe: Famous streaker (I think an England/Scotland Rugby match in the 70's) worked in a travel agency in Petersfield. Worth keeping an eye out for.
• Daniel Day Lewis' mum still lives in the posh suburby bit. Oh and I heard a rumoour about Angus Deatons parents living near by too.Wow it just celebrity packed!
• Mini Driver went to school at Bedales and Rory Bremner used to live in West Meon..just outside Petersfield
• The bloke that did the programme with Dusty Bin and the 3-2-1 thing with his fingers lives in or around Petersfield (sorry I can't remember his name)
• Can't leave this one out - the old caretaker from Grange Hill is still resident...
• Another famous connection? They used to tell me that Gray's Elegy was written in Steep churchyard. But since then, I've heard the rumour denied...
• Well, Petersfield really is a hotbed of talent, past and present. Daniel Day Lewis went to school at Bedales, Tim Rodber (England rugby team) grew up here, and Alec Guinness lives in the area. There were also rumours that a member of Duran Duran lives in a house overlooking the Heath, but hey - there's a limit to how many celebrities one town can hold?

Buskers, Street Entertainers

• The best of the rest - regular street entertainers in Rams Walk. Two day festival of Street Theatre on 11th & 12th July - excellent performers.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
