Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars

  • Best bar in wycombe is The Antelope and The litten Tree! Outer wycombe would be The Green man in flackwell on Fridays!
  • HAHAHA! There's only club in town. It's called Time/HereandNow if you're really interested. I personally wouldn't bother though.
  • Clubs / Bars / Pubs in High Wycombe: 'Pure' (Formally 'Time') on the main roundabout just outside of Frogmoor. 'Butlers' (Formally 'The Toad'). On Frogmoor. 'The Littern Tree', again on Frogmoor. "The Bell Pub", opposite the littern tree, on frogmoor. 'The Falcon' on the high street. 'The Antelope' on the High Street. 'The Hobgoblin' on the high street. 'O'Neils', just off the high street behind macdonalds, towards BCUC. 'The hogshead', on the A40 near blockbusters going towards west wycombe. These are places i've been to and would 'recommend' that if you're a visitor to Wycombe, don't forget, these are our, lol, 'better' places. so don't start looking around for anything better, cos there aint.
  • Tuesday night in the Litter Tray - £1.50 a drink which is great, depending on whether you have to get up for work or not the next day.
  • The Glasshouse has modernised Wycombe's music and drink scene a bit, to say the least. It's cheaper than time, and you don't need a flak jacket. Fridays and Saturdays there is some really good funky house and soul and best of all, you can chat to the DJ for as long as you like, so if they've got the vinyl, you can hear your tunes
  • Time is the place that most lycra-clad skanks and their chavved up geezas go to alcho-pop the night away. Can be found later staggering through town nursing a Kebab and picking fights with lamp posts. If you want a more alternative night out, I recommend going into Reading to The Fez or TFC. Both have a decent rock/ska/metal/punk thing going on.
  • At Time, usually 9/10 times there is a 14-17yrs club on a tuesday during the holidays, for things like new years eve, the one coming up is on valentines day, its between £5 and £7 to get in, sometyms varies dunno y, but there ya go.
  • Disco nights at The Downley Donkey pub www.downleydonkeypub.co.uk
  • TIME! Still quite rough but better than Eden as people just get beaten now and not murdered.
  • The club's a bit cheesy, but there's always the antelope pub. There's an occasional Northern soul, reggae and 60s r&b night at the Liberal Club. These are run by Direction, Reaction, Creation, and are always really good fun.
  • Roys Mad Karaoke on sundays at the Toad in frogmoore High Wycombe is awsome get down sunday night you wont believe this show and its open till 12.30 every sunday he also plays at the litten tree across the road on thursdays too and ho at the cross keys in spittal st marlow thats up and coming too get down if your into karaoke they is the places to be
  • Well the Chad is no longer the Chad, what is everyone to do!! Actually they have re-opened as The Blue Room and I must say it is a vast improvement. I no longer feel like the oldest in the room and feel comfortable wandering away from my group of friends without the danger of being acosted by strange looking men. They now have poles (every club should!!!) and have pulled up the carpet so you don't stick to the floor. Well worth checking out.
  • Time is alright (if u dont mind being knifed)
  • Here and Now. Below time is nice chill out place, sofas and small dance floor. Time and H&N only good on saturdays.
  • TIME its ayt i din get in2 a fite las time bt nrly gt chucked out lolzzz
  • GO 2 TIME!!!!! YAY!!!! ONI WOCH OUT 4 DA BOUNCERZ DEYL CHUCK U OUT IF YA STEP 1 FOOT IN DA BOIZ TOILETS
  • time is tight, avoid when the female bouncer is there
  • TIME-this is the best club in wycombe, can get a bit smoky but its good for pullin random guys wen u dirty dance them and have sex inb the dark corners
  • WENDOVER ARMS(used to be good untill new fat manager started)No atmosphere and now filling up with a lot of castlevillians!!!!
  • lets think...clubs in wycombe....hmmmmmm...man this is a tough one....well lets see...i use to live 10 minutes from the orchard so for a night out that makes it easy to get home from then i guess its there ya go, the worst nightclub ever to exsist on planet earth but if ya tanked up to the eyeballs then its not a bad night.....winkers in chalfont is pretty much the same.....dont EVER go to stages in chesham unless to want to be carried out or enjoy hospital food and time is alright i guess....shit...i mean at the end of the day....a club is a club....so get pissed and enjoy it.....i've been away from wycombe for 2 years and im on my way back and im sure nothing has changed....still got the "bring a knife" nights at the toad or the "Grab a Grannie" evenings at yates??.....oh i do hope so!!.....by the way....did you know in a MIXMAG magazine about 7 years ago....the orchard was voted the WORST CLUB IN BRITAIN!!!....and WINKERS was one above it....makes ya proud to know you live in the area with the two shitist clubs around!!....
  • Time apparently is good but best music is in pubs like White Horse and Antelope is better when the students are in town. Good trick- get an empty glass and theyll serve you
  • clubs in bucks are all pretty wanky. time in wycome=knives at the ready. skip places like the orchad and winkers in chalfont st peters and head 4 bar med in beconsfield in stead. It might not be the greatest club, but the crowds pretty cool, thou there is alot of truckers cap over kill.
  • Lol youngster!!! If only england was like tenerife ur able to drink at 16! But then well have all the miners thinkin their bad, it aint bad only 4 a goooooooddd time m8s!!1 Go to the Toad, White horse for ska n punk bands, Litten tree, oh n i nearly forgot the best go to the Antelope ppl!!! My sis alwayz sings there shes amazin!!!
  • jus one....time enit...wit dat crazy woman bouncer
  • Time
  • TIME on a thursday night with me Safeway's crew when I'm back in Wycombe! Bare buff beanies innit clart!
  • the toad is good if yuor under 18 n u wanna get in. can be a bit unpredictable sum nights tho but its a gd larf wen ur in jus suck up to the bouncers and go in small groups
  • no good clubs but some fairly decent pubs, the antelope, falcon
  • The Attic
  • WYCOMBE SUCKS AND I LIVE HERE!!!
  • The toad is wicked.. get on that floor.
  • i would just like to say that the night life in high wycombe is not as bad as people make out. if you havent got anything nice to say about TIME/HERE AND NOW, TOAD, LITTEN TREE then why bother actually going there!! Yes i agree that there is not alot of night life but you can't tell me that you havent had any good nights there!?! i suppose the music could do with changing now and then but everyone likes a bit of cheese!! and it fills a dance floor!! THURSDAY- ID RECOMEND THE TOAD OR LITTEN FRIDAY - LITTEN SATURDAY - LITTEN THEN HERE AND NOW/TIME
  • There is a club in town named time, it is situated near Frogmoor (Compton). It is full of lots of open minded young ladies. The club is clean and well patrolled by bouncers, it is a bit expensive. Sadly it is full of little boys with attitude.
  • Orchard, yeah! erm....no. I think Finn Mac Cools is ok, wouldnt know as im a poor 17 year old!
  • Tuesdays!!!
  • Don't be stupid...maybe one day WDC will license a proper venue with live music and decent djs. But vote labour or conservative is gonna be rubbish wine bars, pasta resturants etc. & karfokinokey.
  • No good clubs - however Irreverance DJs at the Roundabout or HobGoblin = v. good! London is 30 mins by train with more clubs than you could shake a stick at, so why would you want to go clubbing in Wycombe?
  • Time, thats all I know of, however I have never been, as I'm underage.
  • Um...Time. Used to be Eden but it's much better as Time.
  • HA Clubs in wycombe....fat chance. The ahem 'clubs' that are in wycombe are Time, which is a good place to get stabbed. Orchad, good place to pull a 40yr old minga. and thats it..... On the plus side your only 30mins from London, Oxford and Reading
  • The attic was alright but now theres only that time place which I've managed to avoid going to - it looks ruddy awfull
  • Never bothered with Time, go to London for clubs.
  • time
  • Time is Eden with a paint job, no matter what ANY ONE says. I've been in there once and that was one to many times. Don't think there are any others in the town centre at all actually, apart from the student union, which, if your a student out with your mates is cool (as I was).
  • i wish there were some worth mentioning. but there really arnt. go to oneils or something they open late less wankers there. bouncers are cool genrally keep them selves to themselves. shame theY sting you on prices.
  • time, the orchard
  • THE CHAD ALWAYS A CLASSIC, THURSDAY NIGHTS, EXPECIALLY WHEN EVERY1 COMES BACK FRM UNI. GETTING A BIT OLD 4 THAT PLACE NOW THO. TO ANY RGS RUGGER BUGGERS IM RAISING MY MIDDLE FINGER.
  • TIME- the revamped EDEN, to be honest i prefered eden, at least it was honest, eden was a self confessed shit hole. TIME looks like a nice club but has the same wannabe G crowd.
  • hahahahaha!!! sod all. The orchard is in the middle of nowhere and looks like a prefab; time=eden=shit and i've never been able to locate unit3 but have heard its rubbish.
  • try the chain reaction events every 2 weeks in tylers green village hall gr8 place even if u dont actuall go in an hang out jus bware of police!
  • It has to be Time/Here and Now if u go to Here n Now before 11 u get to go upstairs for free....y do the idiots que round the corner n pay??
  • Eden is now called Time supposedly improved- DONT GO THERE!
  • TIME! bout the only club going.....wycombe such a skitty town..Cressex club, where if you go to your eel like your in punjab or somewhere..boud to get stabbed"
  • d2k --- 4 a hevy nyt wit ur ladies and 2 pull nuf tik blokes.
  • time, falcon
  • No decent clubs in wycombe, expensive - cheesy music etc. What wycombe needs is a decent club, or at least a clubnight that plays trance or hard house with biggish name DJs. Plenty of other simular sized towns have them, so why not wycombe???
  • Eden is a total dump, though you probably wont get stabbed; however gary pisshead will swear at you for 'looking' at their herpes infected girlfriend, Charlene.
  • go to legends bar on a tuesday night it is cool . Has a well chilled out atmosphere and plays funky music . Its free to get in and selected bottles are only £1.50. so go!!!
  • TIME (the bouncers piss on you) THE ORCHARD (friendly if your rich except thursday when cheap drink rules)
  • For the terminally sad there is "The orchard"at Hazlmere(if its still known as that). In the town centre they all are full of weirdo's and tossers.
  • lol @ the people who like unit3 and time get a life and get the hell out of wycombe!shootings, muggings and stabbings? anyone who likes partying in this town must have a deathwish! (thats coming from someone who once upon a time-did!
  • The SuperChad is possible the most depressing place but has still supplied the greatest nights in living History!Where else can you go and be the oldest at 22, and half of Wycombe is barred. Mohammed and the £10 taxi's for a five minute walk make the going home experience all that more magnificent. That's obviously after you contract all manner of diseases from John's Kebab trolley. The Orchard is simply rock and roll.
  • Toad,Time (eden), Dance 2k 4 under 18's
  • oh please! Would rather sit in the Liberal Club with propped up at the bar with a lemonade whilst watching the table of ageing grandads playing dominos and patience than step foot in the excuse of a club they call TIME!
  • Um what can i say! Winkers farm club is d best i spose!. Dance2k isn't on any more coz some dick decided to end it! coz they werent gettin nuff' money- coz winkers took it all!!!!! PATHETIC! no honestly, winkers (gerrards cross) has an under 18's night evety tuesday of half terms and holidays - its worthgoin 2 coz u pull sum mighty fine 'rude boyz'. But apart from that u will probably c me wandering up and down the octagon. Coz i'm not 18 yet so i can't 'officially' get into pubs, im 17 so soon maybe!. Even if i am wycombe's best babe by far..........!
  • Yes they do, we drank and smoke whatever we wanted at Brute force and at Mosh 2k before it was shut down. get ya facts right
  • If only the classy people of Wycombe go to the Orchard - it must be pretty f**king empty......
  • Time {good, waaaay better then eden obviously}, the orchard {pretty rubbish actually}, unit3 {yeah, thats quite good, but its in a rough area {desborough} so be careful whan leaving}, club anchor {crap}, probably some more, but i cant remember cos they are so crap.
  • Garage - Thurs @ Time Cheese/Garage/RnB and cheap drinks - Chad, Thurs
  • The only club is Time, and its Time you left.
  • did you know someone actually got raped INSIDE club eden?, before they changed the name of course. now it's a completely different place..... leave out the orchard too, unless you enjoy getting drunk and talking shit with a load of stuck up bitches and rudeboys.
  • Eden obviously. Generally a place to get very drunk and maybe if you have the wrong face you will end up in a unprevoked fight.
  • I assume all the people who are insulting the clientelle at Eden have been there... There was one person on the dance floor at Unit 3, the music was shit, but the drinks were cheap.
  • clubs? eh? in Wycombe? you must be having a laugh!! Unfortunately the best place to go seems to be the students union. Which is OK if you're a student cuz you can get in. But if not, you have to be content with knowing that there are some dissillusioned people actually inside Eden, nope, sorry, Time
  • Time bar has thankfully taken over form Edens. Modern , stylish, clean and safe although pricey . Definately a BIG styep up from sleazy, knife alley of Edens where each drink came with a free headwound or rape attempt ( for women )
  • I'd rather go to Unit3 than eden, as its not full of tossers and the doormen are friendly.
  • Time & Here has now replaced the shede (club eden) and its soooooooooooooo much better. This and unit 3 r the best clubs in Wycombe!!!!!!!!!!!
  • you have GOT to stay away from TIME night club - it may be new and shiny, but so was Eden once and that was a hole full of kids who should have been in bed hours ago. Once Eden, always Eden...
  • Time. Better than Eden but that's not really saying much. Go there to pull and throw up, but not much else.
  • eden, need i say more! recently changed to time!- time we sed goodbyeeeee!
  • Dance 2k- 1 every month Club eden The orchid
  • Club Eden - don't even think about it, not even if you're pissed and HAVE to carry on drinking. The Orchard (the Chud) still hilarious after all these years - totally untouched by time, and with the smallest dance floor in Britain. Club Anchor - I still don't know if they were being ironic in a post-modern way, or if it's for real; whatever, it's not a bad way to end the night.
  • Eden, like i mentioned before, underage wannabies, rude-boys and brain dead bouncers! Orchard - RULES. Only the classy people of HW go there!
  • Naff BUT there is the occasional cosmic lounge ( someone books a disko and makes it kewl ) - watch out for flyers - which is kewl.
  • Club Eden is the 2nd most unfriendly nightclub I've ever been to. If you like it and you're ever in Poland try Klan in Bydgoszcz.
  • We unfortunately only seem to have the expensive, tacky and dangerous (people have been murdered outside and raped inside) Club Eden. Needs to be shut down.
  • The attic was re-opened as melt. it was crap, dark and dirty. It has now re-opened (again) as unit 3, which is clean and friendly, they play anthems on a friday and hard house and trance on a saturday. This is what wycombe needs, a dance venue open till 2 with pub prices. its not a beer hole full of slappers and idiots.
  • UNIT 3 was melt. Now plays D&B on fridays and great Hard House on Saturdays. opens at 10pm. Good DJs with occaisional special guests. Friendly. Good prices. Its on Leigh Street, off Green Street. . .but dont let that put you off!
  • Forget eden. go to unit 3.
  • Clubs huh, thats a laugh. you could go to Club Eden if you fancy getting you head kicked in or your throat cut. If you do fancy going in there at some point make sure you are well armed as most of the "fresh faced" clientel will be.
  • The Chede (Club Eden) - don't go there. Its shite.
  • Club x, attic, melt (whatever) has now re-opened as "Unit 3" it is no longer a dirty room painted black, the whole place has been fully refurbished, new lights, sound, proper decor, clean toilets, friendly doormen and doorwomen and it's not full of underage townies! they play drum and bass on fridays and hard house/trance on saturdays. £3 b4 11,£4 after (£1 off with flyer) and its £1 a pint b4 11. open till 2am, check it out, it's not what it used to be.
  • clubs are for cevs and townies but the white horse rules on west wycomb road
  • UNIT 3.( formerly melt / the attic )Leigh Street, HW It has been cleaned up loads and repainted and made safe for use once more. Entrance is reasonable, as are the drink prices. Now playing D&B on a Friday, and HARD HOUSE and HARD TRANCE on Saturday. Finally someone is trying to get an underground venue in Wycombe!!! There is great local DJ talent and a desire to educate the Club Eden (or should that be 'shit')crowd in decent music and attitude. Eden is poo. Crap music, no atmosphere other than impending dangerand too expensive. - Oh, and the amount of people that can only say 'Innit'.
  • Clubs in Wycombe are on the whole terrible. For the next best thing, I recommend the Flint Cottage - club DJs, pumping garage tracks all weekend and licenced till 1am.
  • eden (called edam as it is so cheesy). techniqually it is a "club", and unit 3 a tiny hole in an industrial park near green street
  • There is a night club in Wycombe. It's called Eden. Only bother going on a monday or Thursday because the beer is cheap and it's cheap to get in. That is all it is good for.
  • THE ORCHARD RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • regie grove it costs a fiver and frankly it isnt even worth 5p. club eden only good on a wednesday with guest djs street boy and ez from kiss 100fm
  • Eden has dodgy bouncers, and yes remarkably young patrons, despite the fact that at 19 with 3 pieces of ID you can't get in cause you dont have a prove it card!!!! - too bloody expensive anywhere! The Chad is just a sad place for birthdays when at school - when you needed to get a stamp on your hand to drink! Those red lights on the ashtrays were sooo funky!!!
  • STAY AWAY FROM EDEN!!!!!!!!!
  • Club Eden - used to be good before I went to uni in Brighton! Monday night is student night but get there early as cheap drink promos end early. Same goes for Thursdays, seventies cheesy music and definitely the best night of the week. Drinks are expensive so go early or drink heavily before you go. The only place to hang out in town after 11.00 is pretty poor but go with lots of friends and be prepared to laugh at all the slapped up fifteen year old townies.
  • There are some good local DJ's but no effective regular venues that understand underground dance music, particularly trance and garage. The best you've got is the roundabout which is a student pub with the hours to match.
  • The attic is not the attic any more it has re-opened as 'MELT'
  • Club Eden now has UK garage nights. Besides that avoid and at chucking out time go up to London like everyone else. 1989 was the time to be in Wycombe... Acid house and the M25 just down the road. Wycombe was a real hotspot for the scene...thousands of us used to leave every Saturday back then. Back in the 80's Wycombe had about 5 nightclubs
  • Eden, good night out some nobs that are only looking for trouble but your average townie night club
  • The Attic is not too bad on a saturday night, when you get your basic indie, big beat and hip-hop type music. Just be careful when leaving the club it is in a bit of a dodgy area.
  • Winkers is not so far away, as long as you don't mind 15 quid taxi fare/2 hour walk
  • There are no good clubs, there is your twatty pathetic club Eden where the mini skirted tarts and plastic idiot tit head men can be found, or there is the Attic, not much can be said there.
  • There is a nightclub other than the Bell which opened just before xmas 1995 but is full of young hooligans. I moved from Wycombe in January to live in Bermuda - so a slight change there.

Live Music Venues

  • The White Horse :D
  • The White Horse on the A40 (west wycombe road) - Just outside of town is quite popular with the younger generation. 16-24ish. Mostly rock music.
  • The Horse of course. If you like Swedish Goth Lesbians outfits and other rarer musical delights.
  • White Horse has some alright stuff on. Was surprised to see bands at the Glasshouse on Sundays aswell. Just some local bands, but good atmosphere and good drinks
  • The White Horse is your best bet if you prefer live rock music. (And strippers during the day!!) They have a minor's license til 12pm. (Unless this has changed recently) So under 18s are allowed but must leave at midnight. How effective this system is falls to the eye of the beholder... There are various dodgy rumours regarding aspects of this venue, they may or may not be true but I've never had any trouble there.
  • white hoarse - west wycombe road, red lion pub - london road
  • Live entertainment offered under new management at The Downley Donkey pub, www.downleydonkeypub.co.uk
  • The Roundabout, Bridge Street. Strange place but lots goin on, from touring U.S punk bands to DJs and karaoke. Down to earth with a real DIY ethic. The White Horse used to be good but it's gone off the boil lately.
  • The Shite!! (the white horse) excellent live alternative music, cheap entry too. although it tends to be full of 12 year olds now..
  • ldza ppl go to da white horse to watch bands, its a fiver to get in.
  • wycombe swan
  • Irish club is gud esp. for private parties but will not let 10year olds drink there
  • The Red Lion London Road IS the new Nags Head Jam nights on Thursdays and live bands on Fridays & Saturdays for details of gigs see their website www.redlionrocks.co.uk
  • white horse in wycombe will get u throu that teenage angst- the band nites r pretty cool.
  • Only White horse as far as i know but apparently its got bit shit dere, U can go in at any age £5 entry normally. Wen i say any age be realistic 1st skool kids!
  • White Horse. It's the only place in Wycombe for people who don't like the consistant thudding of crappy dance, R&B and Drunm and Base music which all sounds the same.
  • the shite......... sometimes the roundabout have music on
  • the hobgoblin is the best bloody pub in the whole fucking world, not only do they have live music, they have a fucking crazzeeeeeeeeeee quiz-WICKED. FR4ED AND ROSS LOVE IT THERE BUT DO NOT FOGET THE FALCON WHICH HAS A BEER AND BURGER DEAL, THE ANTELOPE IS A BIT OF A SHIT HOLE BUT YOU CAN STILL GET AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE FROM THERE. ROSS AND FRED XXXXX
  • the white horse man rocks the boat.
  • White Horse, bit small though and dam smokey
  • White Horse of Course
  • the shite.. i mean white horse have some cool bands now ans then.. saw maxi jazz there wicked!
  • Look wycombe is so fad YOU MUST STAY AWAY.... The Students who got to BCUC cant stand it and they want you to stay because there nothing but a bunch of corporate liars. Believe me if u got to university here you'll be sure to die here. Oh they can sell you the lies with there stupid Selling points when you actualklky vist but believe me it sucks!!!!!
  • The White Horse has quite a good reputation as a live music venue, I can't comment having never been. O'Neills is excellent if a little pricey on drinks, and has a live band every weekend.
  • Christmas Common.......u know what i mean
  • well, its only really the horse that gets the vote here, maybe the goblin recently. But this year sees the union open up to the public as a club called plush, its undergone a massive refurb, so MTK will def play!!
  • The White Horse - I saw Kings of Leon there about 6 months ago.
  • The white horse pub on west wycombe road...
  • Big it up to the Shite.......
  • the white horse - finally shaking off its biker tag - paul the landlord is about eightfoot and built like a bricks**t house but he's one of the soundest bloke I've ever met
  • Live bands at O'Neills on Friday nights - sometimes quite qual although usually of the pedestrian cover band variety.
  • White Horse has had some very cool metal/punk/hard rock bands play there in the past (Skindred, Prophets, Exploited), but it has a tendancy to have a REALLY crap disco after bands finish. They always start off well (ie: 60's soul and R n B, but always degenerate into playing 80's crap. A L W A Y S
  • IF YOU GET A CHANCE TO SEE REAGAN GO SEE THEM, THERE QUITE COOL,
  • da white horse is da best! 100% shite, but da best!
  • HOGSHEAD JUST TO LISTEN TO THAT REPEATED CHEESE THEY INSIST ON PLAYING, JUST LOOPING OVER AND OVER NEVER ENDING.... I DONT KNOW HOW THE STAFF COPE, I PITY YOU ALL.
  • the WHITE HOURSE is a good place to see bands if thats your thing, if you get a chance check out REAGAN not everyones favorite but dont believe the trend, check em out regulars at the white horse.
  • The Le De Spencers in Downley if you are under 5foot and like impersonating a sardine
  • White horse is tolerable, as long as you avoid kindergarten nights.
  • THE SHITE (white horse) get with the lingo Fred
  • The White Horse is fantastic if you like paying £5 to listed to a troupe of Z-list nobodies pretending that they're the greatest band ever, being surround by 14 year-old rock chicks and being squashed to death on a Saturday night. Or there's the Legends Bar, the greatest atmosphere since your last school disco!
  • The white horse. My mate saw Reuben there and thought they were rubbish. It's very expensive as well. They have some good bands though. Other than that, the venue at the uni. Although not many good bands go near there.
  • white horse baby!!!
  • The white horse! it's a pub that has lots of gigs on most fridays and saturdays of local and touring signed and unsigned bands. lost profits performed there two years ago!! lets not mention it's unsavoury dancers on wednesday afternoons.....
  • White Horse for live bands - and open til 2 so plenty of time to drink, drunkenly "pull" some teenage boy, before staggering to the taxi, vomitting and passing out in a heap.
  • Brute Force at the Irish club. Or the white horse, fondly nicknamed the shite. has sum gd bands on fridays
  • same as i just typed, Go to Brute force and the thing a White Hart Pub and If mosh 2k comes back.
  • RIP Nags Head.
  • The White Horse seems to get pretty good bands and it's got a licence for later opening hours. The biker clientele don't seem to bother you if you don't bother them.
  • White Horse and Roundabout pubs. Used to have the Nags Head where everyone from The Sex Pistols to Mark Knopfler had paid, now its been turned into a gay pub called "The Rainbow".
  • unit 3 (melt refurbished) will be having live music during the week when the students are back
  • The Chede - errm, no. Firkin - music in a pub. The White Horse - live bands, pretty famous, not bad (apparantly)
  • white horse
  • Roundabout - Good. Studenty. Pub prices. Alternative bands. Club Nights - Chris Liberator was there 9th June. White Horse - Classic rock venue..... bikers . . .Hmmmm
  • The White Horse is by far the best venue in town but we need more venues to attract some bigger bands.
  • The white horse down the West Wycombe road has live music every night of the week. You occasionally get some big band there.
  • Nag's Head has ceased to be a Music Venue. In fact it has ceased to be, the new owners have changed the name.
  • Irish Club was bit of a laugh - Whatever happened to ETN????
  • YEAH RIGHT,BRING BACK THE NAGS HEAD,OR PLAY SUMMIT AT THE TOWN HALL, ME OLD MAN IS ALWAYS GOING ON 'BOUT SEEING THE STONES AND THE WHO THERE SO WHY NOT RENEW IT?
  • Get down to the Nags Head on a Thurday night for Jam Night. Hosted by a cool band called The Kickback, local musicians turn up for impromptu jams.
  • The Irish Club has a Battle Of The Bands every year - good chance to see the new talent
  • High Wycombe has two good music venues: the White Horse on the West Wycombe road, and the Nags Head on the east side of town.

Cinemas

  • "The Works" (formally UCI). Has around 6 screens and long(ish) hours. Normally 10:00 - 02:00 roughly (at a guess)
  • the film works
  • Wycombe six is part of the Empire Cinemas chain now. For booking call 08 714 714 714 or visit www.empirecinemas.co.uk
  • Wycombe cinema is okay. It's not an amazing experience but is fine if you just want to see the film then go. It's never had any HIV needle incidents that I know of which makes it a safer bet (from what I hear) than Reading, and more recently, Bracknell... Scary stuff.
  • cressex
  • UCI in the Cressex out-of-town complex. New cinema will be built in the Project Pheonix centre in the middle of town.
  • Uci filmworks, 6 screens of the same mainstream blockbusters you can find anywhere. They don't show enough smaller or arthouse films.
  • Big cinema by Handy cross rounndabout, but the place could do with a good clean as it is starting to get grubby!!!
  • The Film works up at handy cross. pretty good, but expensive. bring ur own drinks.
  • Filmworks
  • The filmworks - A good size cinema with all the latest films on show. with over 6 screens you can chill out with your mates. There is a sweet shop, a restaurant and a bar to acquire all your needs. It is worth the journey.. only 5 minutes from high wycombe
  • we have a newly refurbished cinema now! the best 1 is in Maidenhead tho thats close
  • High Wycombe.
  • The Film works cinema is quite nice once you've got in. Unfortunately, if your car is unavailable, you have to climb up a massive hill (marlow hill) to get there before discovering they don't believe your age WHEN ITS REAL and the tickets r too expensive and there's never any films on when you arrive. Planning needed.
  • yea uci its a bit better from last time i went still stupid!!! whys it gotta be up that gigantic hill thoguh, its out the way!!!
  • It's okay as long as you don't buy any food there. It's financial suicide.
  • UCI, c'est cool
  • Actually, since its gone from UCI to Filmworks UCI its gotten significantly better. It's a really nice cinema to go to now.
  • UCI
  • One...UCI...its rubbish called the Wycombe 6, ist a landmark people meet at but bnever go in.
  • there's only one! I prefer the odeon in aylesbury
  • Wycombe 6
  • filmworks..
  • I normally go to maidenhead to see films there, it's just a better cinema with more comfy seats.
  • THE cinema.....Film works. Near Asda. Small. Crap. Need i say more?
  • nice but cramped back row not big enough.
  • UCI or wycombe six as us youngsters remember it is very nice now. it should have a screen like maidenhead's expensive suite as well though. Otherwise odeon in aylesbury!!
  • Wycombe filmworks, near asda...
  • High Wycombe cinema is dirty, smelly and employs only people without a braincell, so if you went to a local school you might stand a chance of a job there
  • Since they redid the cinema it is much better - comfort wise - but the range of movies is still limited - better to go to London.
  • uci wycombe six
  • UCI at the top of the hill's OK, although they could show a more varied selection. Bowling for Columbine didn't get a single showing, where as Harry Potter 2 got shown on 3 screens for well over a month. Behave!
  • The cinema here is great, (well, I say "great", meaning average, meaning pretty damn poor, if you ask me) if the film you want to see is a Hollywood blockbuster, but don't expect to see any film with subtitles.
  • enormous recently renovated cinema
  • WYCOMBE 6
  • the filmworks (used to be wyc 6) is decent enough it has a bar now and ben n jerrys which is always appreciated.
  • the film works is actually pretty decent but its a shame its so far away. As part of the new pheonix project they're building a....wait for it...an 18 f***ing screen cinema. useful!!! we don't need 18 f***ing screens; the film works is empty enough as it is. As for other stuff, considering there is a district population of more than 200'000 its really rather surpring that no, theres no bowling, theres no ice rink, theres no quasar (apart from the remnants of what was quasar). No wonder theres so many youths festering around doing drugs.
  • Just been done up still expensive got 10 screens now and approx 10 seats in each screen
  • The 6 screen complex situated just off that lovely roundabout at cressex, If you want your car broken into or stolen, there are few better places than this in the Wycombe area.
  • it's the worst cinema- despite 6 screens none of the top films are shown
  • UCI dis place is quite eavy u kno it is bein all refurbished in2 stadium seating and puttin a bar etc in it booo i can get pissed up there now!i wud travel 2 cum ere
  • ok, JUST DONT EAT THE CHEESY NACHOS. Had a very unfortunate encounter...
  • My car got broken in to when i parked here but aside from that, its the best cinema for miles.
  • I go to reading to watch movie coz my mates live there and coz its so much better than the crappy wycombe.
  • There is 1 cinema in high-wycombe and it is the UCI,but it has 15 screens so it can hold alot of films and a lot of people.
  • Cinema is good {6 screens} but very expensive. Incase you dont know where it is, its next to that outskirts of town shopping centre, near the M40, next to the holmers farm estate {probably the reason for all the car break-ins - DONT PARK THERE OR YOUR CAR WILL BE BROKEN IN TO}
  • wycombe 'six' as it's called. it's expensive and far away enough from the town centre as to prevent a large townie population convergence. however, you'll always see the usual array of dickheads with their peroxide birds 'caning it' through the car park of a saturday night. well done lads....
  • no bowling, no quasar anymore but the cinema isn't too bad as long as you master handy cross roundabout.
  • Unless you are prepared to fork out £6 per view, i'd go elsewhere to watch the latest film.
  • wycombe 6. Tom hanks is always in at least 1 film. Nothing interesting.
  • Wyombe Shits (sorry; six) Actually is specially designed to send your arse to sleep as soon as possible.
  • uci-handy cross
  • Still unsafe to park at Wycombe 6, but then it's only been open 13 years, you can't rush things like security, can you? Heaving at the weekend.
  • UCI is the only one i can think of
  • UCI, althought they are expensive i dont know anothere cinema anyhow
  • UCI Cinema at the top of the hill - bad public transport so get a video out instead ( the blockbusters is good ! ) To be honest, with the special offers you can get on the Swan theatre its better to do a video / theatre combination in wycombe.
  • Wycombe Six Cinema at Handy Cross
  • UCI Wycombe Six - what can I say. A cinema.
  • UCI
  • Wycombe 6. Ok . Too pricey. Nice Ice cream though
  • Wycombe 6 - overpriced and damn uncomfortable. Longing for the Western Sector development and the new multiscreen cinema.
  • The Wycombe six is a damn fine cinema
  • uci by handy cross it has 10 screens but not many seats
  • Quasar has now shut. About time too.
  • UCI in cressex, really expensive, £5.90 on a normal night...ouch. Student discount monday to Thursday helps a little. Nice ice cream though and compfy seats.
  • The car park is attractive to local offenders, especially being so near the motorway for a quick escape...
  • The Cinema has 6 screens and a rather lovely ice-cream counter...but food is expensive (as always in cinemas). I've only ever seen one reel of tape snap mid-film so it can't be all that bad! (it was Titanic - just as everyone was dying...the tape snapped in the projection room!!)
  • Wycombe six, dont take your car, it will have a scratch down the side by the time you come back
  • Big cinema complex out of town, plus your usual bowling alleys and Quasar/Laser Quest things.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about High Wycombe. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in High Wycombe.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
