Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains
Blackpool doesn't have half as many shops as it used to have
Twisted (opposite BHS)ood 'tache material' clobber, can b quite expensive though-but good quality gear. Ann Summers-great! Stilletos 2 die 4 (opposite funny girls) have sum class shoes-very sexy and also slutty.
Big Woodys Skate Shop.
Tantrum , Highfield Road.(surf and stuff)
t k max last years stock at low low prices
full of size 8 freaks who never eat and walk around thinking there better then you
Blueberries for everyone (tremendous stock)on Topping Street and TIGER (Cedar Square)and KOOKIE (Redbank Road) for the girls
oxfam, cancer research, british heart foundation, steals- abingdon street is the north west fashion mecca!!
twisted is a good shop
twisted :) brilliant shop! good mix of everything- quite expencive though
TWISTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best now is the rock shop "twisted" down along from Brannigans in the town centre(for the more alternative among us!)
Anne Harveys - for all the fat bitches who leech off their rich hubbys
If you're sick of going round town and seeing hundreds of other peeps wearing the exact same outfit, take a stroll to Twisted just past the ABC (Although not reccommended if you're a fan or tracky bottoms and rockports if you catch my drift) .
scene, but ooops its in Preston, the only good clothes shop in Blackpool is erm maybe The grind but thats in St. Annes. Well there are no good clothes shops.
the grind skate store,st annes
If you know anybody getting married tell them to steer clear of the Bird of Paradise on Highfield Road. She'll try and talk you into buying something that doesn't fit, by offering her 'professional opinion.'And if you change your mind or if you've got a complaint they don't give refunds and they will just tell you to get out and threaten to call the police.
Just an addition, the Grind does actually have a website http://grind.co.uk and they can be emailed at grind@btinternet.com
The Grind skateshop in St. Annes stocks a wide range of goodies,
phone for directions, as it is quite a way from the town centre.
Zilch(for the women), Nigel Holmes (for the men). Places like JD and Wigwam have started selling Airwalk and Acupuncture. Both near the Winter Gardens.
Pricey, but good blueburys on Church Street
Loads in the town centre but mainly selling typical townie clothing
Truly excellent variety. Hmmm. Miss Selfridge thru TopShop. Oh good.
Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)
There is a new gallery in Blackpool on King St (round the corner from the Syndicate Nightclub) called Blott. It has different exhibitions by local artists, some times group shows and sometimes just one artist. There is also some cabinets permanently displaying/selling groovy handmade jewelery and soap stone mini sculptures. Blott are an art collective. there is another in Blackpool called Synergy who have exhibited at the Solarium on the prom in South Shore (which has a cafe and usually some kind of exhibition going on). there is also the grand promenade art show, with lots of permanent sculpture /exhibits dotted along the sea front in South Shore.
library and local interest centre, queen st - thats about it really in this cultural desert.
grundy art gallery near funny girls is a good place to chill and look around.
Loads of shitty tackey junk shops either on the prom or just off it.
In Blackpool! yeah right, this is the land of kiss me quick,
shaft me slow; a bag of chips and a walk along the pier.
Try Eden in the Hounds hill centre, or the Christmas shop on Church Street
Magazine and Comic Shops
Forbidden Planet manchesters preety good, go there.
Thunderbooks on Lytham Road for all your Gerry Anderson/Sci-fi/Marvel stuff.
Thunderbooks comic and memorabilia shop is an awesome shop if
your into marvel super heroes, or any type of mystic literature.
Well worth a look. Phone for directions, but is just in walking distance
from the town centre if your fit, or don't have a car.
WH Smiths is still the best source for mags. Otherwise, Thunderbooks on Lytham Road for comics.
Thunderbooks, again in South Shore, on Lytham Road. Pretty good as well. Say hi to Carl.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
Have Your Say...
The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.
You can tell us more about Blackpool.
This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here.
(But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)
You can use the add an event form
to tell us about events happening in Blackpool.
Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
