The huge block of Flats at the end of Sussex Road, or most of South Road (high street) because they look very tatty. Or Sainsburys.

Nowhere should be knocked down this is such a pretty town. If you want grey concrete towers (well there hardly towers but there about 7 floors hi) go 2 burgess hill. keep haywards heath standing.
Willy Way, nr Bentswood
Oathall
Warden Park School. I was there in the late 1960s and I hated every minute of it. I cannot imagine that it has improved at all. The problem if someone were to drop a large bomb on it would it be noticed?

The Birch Hotel being a privately owned 51 bedroom hotel, built in 1874 by Dr Jower, a well known surgeon who had a practice in Harley Street and twice a week would take the pont and trap from the stables, which is now the Birch Garage next door to the hotel.
In 1996 Mr James O Dwyer bought the Hotel, so we are now back in private hands.
Facilities at the Birch Hotel include 51 en suite rooms, 6 meeting rooms, 2 restaurants, 1 being the Pavilion restaurant catering for a 100 covers, and Georgia Browns Tex Mex Bar Diner, seating 40.
haywards heath youth forum
My dads scout group and the 11 haywards heath guides
There have been no fatalities at the 7-11, but beatings in the area have certainly increased. They are considering putting a 24 hr service hatch as a measure.
No matter what year of college you're in at Haywards Heath Sixth Form, the status gang always sit by the coffee machine in the common room.
The Worst Things
Everything else? The people, the architecture, the lack of things to do...
Kids here strut around thinking they're hard, then go home to mummy and daddy by 9.00pm. For some reason there are also a whole bunch of boy-racers who also think that it's cool to show off how shit at driving they are in some ancient banger.
Pikeys.
nothing else to do
The pikes
gettin caught by the pigs and being beaten or chased by pikes
The traffic jams, apathy and ignorance of the towns people, and a strange desire to moan about things, especially "the youth".
God bogglers, bible bashers, churchies, Londoners who are moving in and pushing the house prices up even more. Clare Park and centre - muggers paradise..
So close to Burgess Hill. Shame.
I went out with a girl who lived near HH for a number of years and must say that the town and surrounding area was one of the most moribund and spirit-crushing places I have ever visited. Bullnecked, Ralph Lauren clad fools jostle with ageing & twisted Tories or city types for the title of true HH scum bag. Surrounding area is the kind of pretend countryside that convinces London émigrés they've beaten 'the rat-race' while managing to make every second farm building look like a centre for battery farming or cock-fighting. Sinister, unpleasant and with no relief from the bourgeois ideals of monotony and bad taste. In retrospect, she was a bit of a tw*t as well: cheers love!

CHARLENE LIVES THERE :(
Most things
I am convinced that Warden Park School should be top of this list. I was there in the late 1960s for a few years and absolutly hated it. I cannot imagine that it has improved any since. I feel sorry for all the kids there now. I escaped from Haywards Heath in 1971 and found that there is a real life outside of this introverted town.
Nothing to do!
The air they breath, the children they spawn, the stuff that comes out of both ends of them...which is worth more than them all
There's nothing to interest anyone under 45 in this town .
Inbreeders.
They hold family get-togethers here so people can go meet members of the opposite sex.
Also beware of the Old Bill
Inbreeders.
The local cops have nothing better to do than whizz round town looking self-important and nickin' kids with pot.
When it comes to REAL crimes happenin', the town soon becomes over-run with cops from other places and then the locals get pissy and put on a "Show-of-force" - or worse, drive around twice as often and in greater numbers and still end up nickin' kids that LOOK like they might know a pot-head or worse: appear to be unemployed!! (Apparently a HEINOUS crime in this part of inbreeder-central!!).
Don't break down after 8pm ... the town is SHUT!!
I cannot think of a worse place to live than haywards heath.
I lived there for a couple of years and contemplated suicide.
I hate everyone from haywards heath.
Especially the boy racers.
town council
The Platform Theatre has gone.
pigeons under the railway bridge
The worst thing about Haywards Heath is there is absolutely nowhere better to escape to inside of twenty miles (or more). The so hailed Brighton is also boring, dirty and of course slightly limp wristed. As for Crawley...
The place as a whole. The narrow-minded and ignorant residents, and the boy-racers in their crappy Astras.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
