• Famous local residents, include, a bloke out of a pop group called'mott the hoople', winsey willis who used to read the weather, and noel gordon is in the grave yard.

• Mott the hoople of course.Theres a guy here who used to be in humble pie,cant remember his name though.Roger whittaker lived near here aswell but i think he sold up and went back to durham.There used to be a rick parfitt out of status quo double who had a yellow rolls royce and he used to pull gullible ross women by convincing them he really was lightnin fingers rick,i never actually saw him but he did exist,a few people i know saw him,he actually got done i think for getting sex by deception or something,its true,it was in the gazette! well if it works,why stop?thats what i say...

Buskers, Street Entertainers

• Just a little note to say that Barry (mohammed ali impersonator) died in may of this year (2002) and is very much missed by his friends. ross is a quieter and sadder place without him.
• buskers usually perform in the entrance to the maltings shopping arcade
• Theres a bloke who sings bob dylan songs outside peacocks sometimes. the marcel marceax lot have given us a wide berth thus far.
• MAD BARRY DOING HIS INFAMOUS MUHAMMID ALI IMPRESSION IS NOT TO BE MISSED.
• The regular entertainment is watching the drunks rolling down Broad Street being avoided by red faced women pushing prams up the hill.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
