Skateboarding Spots
Possible one the best Skateparks in the South, Vert, spine and a yearly Jam in honour of "Boyley" a BMXer who died..!
The town centre. All along the sea front, espeically by the fountains (next to the pier)... but the seafront goes on for miles, and it's all pretty good. Theres two skate parks, one behind the White rock Theatre (opposite the pier) and another near the ridge... but that ones terrible and not worth the trip.
warrior sqaure gardens for smooth cruisin and slalom, bohemia road at night for insane speed boming, the secret footpath that goes to fairlight super steep fast as hell, crowhurst bowl, bexhill seafront. And the new surface at the sport center car park, and the new resururfaced car park at the train station. Hastings has loads of ace skate spots, you just need to go exploring and have a bit of an imagination.
best place for skaters so im told is the skate park at the back of the white rock plenty of bmxers and skaters there or failing thatthe cycle lane runs fromwest stleonards to hastings town centre!
The third bit of Alexander park is where my skater friends hang out after they've scared the kids outta the play park. :-)
the best spot USED 2 b the horntye sports complex car park, but they put a fence and a security camrea up...
The only skate park in Hastings is the one by the Oval. Needs more ramps as the same ones get boring after a year or so!
if you want to tell the council about any park maintenance issues, or anything else, then contact kduly@hastings.gov.uk
Natwest is good! at night because da day is just so busy.
try going to the carnial their is a 6 set and it is cool but there is a load of flats where OLD PEOPLE live. if u stay there longer than they say u
get splashed wit water!
there is a cool sk8 park up by the White Rock Gardens.
they have got some new stuff e.g mini ramp, grind box and this big rail.
carnial
i dunno if it has a street name but every1 knows that little train thing that takes people up the cliffs, go up it, well big hills 4 speed, less traffic, near new benches 4 waxing and no moaning from everyday people. n crowhurst has a wicked bowl and a secret quarter-pipe at crowhurst which only 3 ppl use so its in good nick (unless those erm "youths" graff it up again lol
Hastings YMCA on Monday and Tuesday, Check out the new indoor ramps, great amosphere with friendly staff (check for Times)
LOL erm Falaise rd there is a skate park look out sam roberts
the pier is still the best hanging spot
The skatepark is in desperate need of repair, the council seem more concerned with cleaning graffiti off than repairing the holes. They did repair the damage caused by the arson attack, but did'nt fix anything else. The park was supposed to be short term, until they could put something larger in, but 16 months down the line nothing has happened.
PIER,WHITE ROCK GARDENS(SKATE PARK),DEBENHAMS
New Skate park from September 2001. BMX orientated but better than nothing.
5ft mini attached to spine but no coping on spine and huge flat bottom. Spine connects to flat bank with 1/4 pipe(same height transiton as spine) other side of flat bank. Between 1/4 and spine (the park is connected forming a circle shape)is a drive way with grind box's going down either side around i ft high.
Hastings now has a council provided skate park. Situated in White Rock gardens just behind the old midi ramp. Mini ramp, large spine, quarters, flat bank, driveway with grind blocks. All seamless wood, floors n'all!!! Nice effort by the council but very BMX orrientated. If rumours are correct it will be replaced in 2002 with much larger, more varied park.
New park type thing next to the origanal half pipe. or sea front between old skate rink and pier
Indoor ramps and skating at the YMCA. You can hire skates too.
where every1 has listed..... fountains... n so on........
now most people think hastings sucks but believe me the scene is huge and there are some dope skaters.the fountains are the most well known spot but at night safeways, natwest, the carlisle, the post office are the best. dont bother with the subway as its full of tramps. oh and ask for directions to castle down school as it rules. also go to lidl and skate my mate finns rail its word. yo rory if you read this you are a slag! hahaha.later luke
near the pier! loadsa them
Lidl supermarket up Bohemia Road whilst not really a skate spot has a damn good curb that is waxed to f***, aswell as a manual block and if you are good some nice slidable cycle rails, and grass/dirt planter gaps
"the Fountains"- now had big chunks cut out of it, "the ramp" up Falaise Road up from the white rock theatre (huge coping, needs welding, lots of "aggressive" bladers lol.
Nobody skates the "gardens" or "bottle alley" anymore!! It's either "the fountains", "natwest", "safeways carpark" or the train to brighton!
Although there are plans for a skatepark to arrive by summer 2000 so watch this space!
I'd like to take this opertunity to thank Dannielle for letting us all mosh in her flat oh so many times!
The fountains by the pier, Safeways car park, half pipe up the road from the white rock, MFI car park, the old bathing pool site, the underground car park on the seafront.
the fountains
safeway car park
carlisle steps
the toilets
the sobway
natwest steps
infomation centre steps
The seafront at Grosvenor gardens is the place for the older aggressive sk8er.
This place used to have the most monstrous big vert ramp, until the council did for it. Now you're best bet to find skaters is in "bottle alley" underneath the sea front.
Skateboard Shops
Re Al sports, its been there donkeys years
i think re-al is the only one. And it's tiny... It's in the town centre, next to the cinema.
The Source in Bexhill are real good for BMX/Skate stuff....they ride and stock all the latest stuff and shoes/clothes. Blanks with grip for £20 plus all the usual brands. i heard thwey were opening one in hastings.?
there are no skate shops in hastings, real is no longer a skate shop, its for chavs
re-al is overpriced but have a goodselection of decksand trucks etc
The new one on the pier is great! Well, its good to have another.
elemental NOT re-al unless u r absolutely f@ckin desperate
There is one shop in Robinson Stree that sell Skate fashions. Re-all sell some skate equiptment but not a great deal
anywhere but re-al, please anywhere but there
Note to the goon who doesn't like RE-AL 2 in an earlier msg, what is it that you do so specially, that shows how much you care about "THE SCENE" as you like to put it?+If you actually want to do something helpful go down Elemental and sign their skatepark petition and with the permission of the council it may happen.
the new skate shop is called elemental and its on the corner of robertson street the prices are great the staff are good friends of mine and you would deffinitly not call darren meatheaded to his face. go there chill out play some pool watch some vids and avoid re-al like the plauge
Elemental is the new best skateboarding shop in Hastings. Now we finally have a place worth calling a good skateboarding shop Re-al is over and they suck(damn pykies)Elemental are also sighning a petition for a new skatepark. They're on the end of Robertsons street near the library.
New shop opened, think its re-al 2. woo hoo. Apparantly run by the loser from re-al and some meatheaded cryapt bouncer. Just what this town needs another shop run by people with no interest in skating and just cashing in.
Re-al commercial, sell-out shop that has no interest in local skate scene.
nt really, n thaz sad considering there r funking mor skaters here then fucking london, they all think they can skate!!! should try to fucking learn!!
not many! we NEED 1 cos there's loadsa skaters
Backyard - too out of town for recognition
Hastings has a shop called Re-al which can be find by Queens Road near the cinema - however the owner doesn't care for skateboarding and knows little about it and is all into trying to make money out of our little subculture and the boards are over priced - last time I went in the kid behind the counter didn't even know what a kingpin was - pop in to see the new boards etc. but don't buy anything - go anywhere but here to buy stuff!!
Re-Al again but only if u R desperate for a king pin or somethin. Just to give an example of their prices...they sell new-deal (old ones) for £55 without grip......Re-open BACKYARD!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate to say it but 're-al' is the only skateshop in hastings now the well known 'backyard' has chipped off to the great skating/riding heaven in the sky.
Backyard, real (but it's a trendy shop, but they give good discount)
