Great shop on high street which sells skateboards and designer clothes to look good on them called Amoeba, friendly staff too. Beats shopping at Next and Burtons. Cool Man ;-)
Theres a fairly new shop at the corner of Swadford St & Keighley Skipton called Amoeba that sells cool clothes from Qhiksilver, Billabong, Ripcurl ect. Its about time Skipton had a couple of cooler shops. Keep em coming!
amoeba is a small skate / clothes shop on the corner of swadford street and keighley road, skipton - near to global video and woolworths - red signs which you cant miss! they are launching an on-line catalogue web address will be amoeba-direct.co.uk. it sells brands like quiksilver, animal, billabong etc
Very few decent affordable clothes shops. The market vendors have some good ranges though. (01/05/2003)
new look tacky but cheap
Skipton fashion centre is the only reasonable place to shop, how come nowhere sells baggies/hoodies?!
Burtons is now just a small section of Dorothy P's - I think there's a Next there somewhere too - sunwin house
just won't be the same without Alan and Mavis who used to work in Burtons when it was just outside Craven Court.
Top Shop - could there be any more crap!! If you are a size 8 slapper - you got it made here.
Erm ? I heard there was a New Look (whoopee) but other than that there's Next, and the Burtons group (double whoopee). What about Little's Mini Market ??!! I used to HATE going in there with my mum, cheap clothes and there was the same swim suit hanging up there for 10 years I sware !! And the carpet was itchy...
Next and Burtons - this is the reason that on a Friday night in Skipton you will only ever see 2 different shirts and 1 jumper on the 100's of people who are out!
Lots but not good ones. dotty P's, Topshop, Debenhams, that kind of thing. Only good one is Next
BURTON MENSWEAR is an extremely good shop with very helpful and friendly staff. DAVID GOLDIE's near the Black Horse Pub sells outdoor clothes, wax jackets etc. Very Good.
Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)

Belly button rings at Thomas's
Probably but only for tourists and selling watercolours of scenes in the dales
The ART SHOP on Coach Street, sell general art accersories. Also another on Newmarket Street, about 100 yards further up from Superdrug.
Magazine and Comic Shops
The jolly shopkeeper in the Craven Tuck Box ( high street opp Barclays ) - always wishing you a "good sunday afternoon" - what a nice man.
The Newsagent (I think its still Hesletines) has a good selection, other than that ur looking at good old WH Smith.
WHSmiths and various small newsagents on every street in the town
