The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else

  • This place is like the Bermuda Triangle. You will never escape. Or maybe are more like the Borg. You will be assimilated. In all my life, on all my travels, I have never before met an entire town with exactly the same bloody minded mentality. The towns hobbies are: 1) Gossip, if they don't know they'll just make it up anyway 2) Shagging, everything and anyone 3) Fighting, (and/or taking drugs) 4) Slagging people off behind their backs. And its got more than its fair share of lunatics too. This town should be called Royston Vasey...
  • egremont has nothing of the above, the town is a medical oddity. the last thing of any impact was the gigs played in the town circa 1981, by such bands as psycho faction & rtm etc. though i know johnny kid and the pirates played at the same venue 20 odd years previous, still the town stinks and know one as asked, what vision is left, and is anyone asking?
  • For Gods sake never go there! I made my escape fucking ages ago and dont miss it at all.
  • New bookshop opened - Esoteric Dreams Bookshop on St Bridgets Lane - for old and new books and unusual gift ideas!
  • How about starting a campaign to isolate Egremont from the rest of humanity. They would be happier like that and so would we.
  • People who live here don't appreciate how good it is.
  • If your from out of town you`ll probably end up getting a kicking. Especially if your a Jam Eater or a Southerner.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
