Skateboarding Spots

  • have a look, but watch out, some propa nutters, Heaster, stay clear, Jak, he will lik ya good, bacon bits(lardons)at county hall,he's fat, just be careful on da whole...
  • hartham is pritty lame but it is the only place that u dont get kicked of!! county hall is phatt but bacon bits will rape u when u are not looking there is a 2,3,4,6,9,and 11 sets the car park and some other random spots watch out for rude boy michael heaster
  • Hartham is probably the best, considering you can go there anytime and there WILL be a skatepark there soon. County Hall is alrite, but theres a dickhead security guard (Sundays, afternoon is the best time). Parliment square is ok, the road is too busy to use it fully. Viaduct is alright, one huge bank, bit of a trek. Factories on Mead lane, look around there, near hartham. Wheatcroft is ok, 1 good set and a little kicker.
  • County hall is good, security man (bacon bits)does not like skateboarders, watch out for Michael Heaster, good for inline, skate, street bmx, (there are trails near by).
  • county hall carpark, altho at a time when theres no cars... (sunday!)
  • hartham really is gd fr casual skate only cos there is nothing special there a few curbs n stuff if u wonna skate proper go 2 county hall
  • Soon to be a skate park (if the council get their way!)
  • county hall is where most ppl go and it the only place remotly good. if you want a proper skate park the nearest is harlow which is easy to get to as its near the station
  • Alright down north road are a few pathetic wall grinds but if you wanna creatively fill your time explore the council hall on sundays, loadsa great places, by the way nick basically has a skate park in his yar go there
  • County Hall, at the top of Bullox hill, hasn just about everything a street skter could ask for, WATCH OUT FOR THE TIGHT SECRUITY!
  • Parliament Square - stone benches, memorial, but you get people tellin' you not to and the police have been known to confiscate boards from here. County Hall is good, with ledges and steps...bigger stuff too if you're good. Hartham's pretty cool too, nothing big to skate but quite open with waxed curbs and the like.
  • County hall is phat for skating and there are never any townies there!!!! cant skate there on weekdaysthough coz people work there.
  • Best spot (maybe even better than Hartham) is County Hall, with 2, 3 and 4 steps, ledges and a handrail. There's a bit of under cover space and the huge car parks at the back are really smooth - take grind boxes and ramps, otherwise it's just a bit boring. You can only skate here in the evenings and weekends.
  • county hall...altho there is much security and my mate once broke his leg there - not that these are connected of course.
  • YOU CAN ALWAYS TRY COUNTY HALL!! QUITE A FEW SKATERS GO THERE NOW IN HERTFORD!! BUT I SAY BRING BACK THE HALF PIPE!! DOWN IN THE WOODS!!
  • You will be hard pressed to skateboard any in Hertford without complaints. Even Hartham has limited space due to the car parks being a bit small. Worth a try if you are desperate though.
  • Skate ONLY at Hartham (or else).

Skateboard Shops

  • Marshalls
  • Slam city skates london
  • marshalls is crap its over priced and the owners selling a £20.00 blank deck that looks like it was made in a female donkeys ass p.s watch out for rude boy micheal heaster he will rape u when not looking
  • Marshalls has some stuff, which is good if you're not fussy. If you want to be fussy go to motel 6 in Harlow, can't really say where it is, cos its in a weird place.
  • Marshalls, a bike shop that has a bit of skate stuff and is gunning for a skatepark.
  • go to harlow and visit big worms in the howard centre. best skate shop i no
  • there are 2 shops in harlow but londons prob the best bet
  • None. Save yourself a lot of time and go straight to London.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Hertford. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Hertford.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
