House of the Ressurection

Mirfield Free Grammar School, currently my school!!
The house on the corner of Huddersfield Road and Blake Hall Road (opposite the park). Was owned by the Ubergs, then the Crowthers. This is the house I always wanted to buy as a kid. Alternatively, Castle Hall school - the best school by far in Mirfield.
Demolish It Now Building
Castle hall needs repainting, BLUE, BLUE, BLUE, BLUE, BLUE.....Just wipe it off the face of the earth.
Christ the King- Battyeford, it really is an eyesore of so called 'modern' design. It sits like(to quote HRH Prince Charles) "a carbuncle" on Stocks Bank Road. The Church it replaced was a wonderful building, with marvellous stained glass.Although I believe the 'Church' is now more in tune to the practical
and spiritual needs of the local populace than ever the 'Old' church was.
CLUB ISIS!!!
Castle Hall
Those toilets by the library!
That clothes shop on the corner of doctor lane (have you EVER seen anyone go in there???????)
Greenside youth club
Mirfield toilets
The whole centre of mirfield, what a dump!
CASTLE HALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Thirsty Man - Bring back the Longbow!
Castle hall school
Christ The King Church and Parish room Battyeford
Either Battyford or Wellhouse schools. Anyone educated their should also be demolished. Poor schools, poor education, poor luck boys!
The Best Things
Post Code,
The Annual Show 2000 was absolutely superb. Friendly, entertaining, a truly uplifting event. Full marks to the organisers!!!!!!!!
The Market...Lovely people.
Inuendo - Mirfields Premier Rock Band! Go to www.maxpages.com/inuendo or www.maxpages.com/inuendohome
Having the Best Rugby team in Yorkshire (It's true, It's true)
Some top totty!
Knowing lots of people but not everyone knowing your business Mirfield is just the right size for that.
Nothing
Quiet, lots of people, nice area (in some parts), famous people have come here
Woods and Library
The best thing in Mirfield is a pork pie from Shaun J. Fairweather's Butchers, 20a/22 The Knowl.
At Christ The King Church, they are blessed with some of the region's most outstanding musicians. Firstly, there is the Director of Music Mr. Garth Swift who has been there a number of years and has a vast knowledge of choral music as well as organ music being the versatile musician that he is. Then there is his assistant, Mr. Nigel Day who has the inpossible task of training the choir (a rowdy bunch usually found legless in the Railway on Mondays & Thursday nights!!). The Church has the distinction of having such a reputable choir and 'sound' choral tradition. There is then the annual musical which takes place every February. For great Church music, go to Christ the King is all I can say!!!.
The people, the humour, the rolling hills, the river, Hag Wood, the beer and the fish'n'chips.
The Worst Things
All the stupid Estate Agents with tales of how good they are HA HA sell it yourself.
The War memorial.
What did those poor men of Mirfield die for?.
The last time I visited Mirfield in September 2000, I found discarded cans and plastic bags - evidence of solvent abuse (glue sniffing)- strewn in front of the memorial.. Someone had even tried to start small fire.
Desecrating the memory of those who lost their lives.
If these people have no respect for the men who died, and the council have no care to clean up the site, it is a sad endightment on the people of Mirfield.
Even the most primitive societies honour their 'dead'.
Any other lameass Bands
The areas where you cant walk without having eyes at the back of your head(you know....)
The fact that there is no cinemas, bowling alleys etc.
Roads are too busy at peak times but I figure its only becauce Kirklees don't want us to get out on a morning
Pollution, castle hall, some dodgy people (Warren Price), too many cars, that';s about it
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
