Record Shops

  • no! but u might pick up a few golden oldies in the charity shop
  • there is none oh wait, there is, but it only sells gay records, like enya or something. Suprisingly this is also located on Manor Drive, owned by Steve Stubley.
  • We only have charity shops in Mirfield
  • There were one when I were a kid that selled quadrophonic records but it shut down.
  • Record Shops? What are they? Sometimes the Co-Op gets some dodgy £2.99 CD's in but that's your lot!!
  • HAHAHAHAAHAAHA!!You must be joking. If you fancy a trip to Huddersfield, Badlands is the best in the area
  • E.G.S used to be the place but they shut down.
  • Sue Ryder Shop has some records
  • One shop where you had to order the record you wanted unless Mantovani or Manilow were your thing. Closed c.1985

Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars

  • HQ IS ALRIGHT
  • nah no clubs just crisis
  • Get yourselves down the ship on a friday, fantastic music, cheap beer, and then if your really drunk from the fantastic bar offers go to Crisis, if your not that drunk then head somewhere that hasn`t got 14 year olds running round and go to the frontier (if your 14 or over your too old for the big F)
  • a good night out in mirfield usually consists of a trip to the swan about 9ish (just in time to have a laugh with the people on the karaoke on a friday n saturday night)then leave for the ISIS after last orders! night ends around 2 n take a trip to the gourmet for ya munchies n head home!! Now tht is what i call a great night out!!!
  • Panache wasn't really as bad as the other contributors have made out - the music (particularly 1984-1990, before it closed for refurbishment) was excellent. Check out the following blog: http://panachemirfield.blogspot.com
  • Panache used to be a good night out ,now its the salvation army
  • h q is banging b. no its shit.
  • Well, ISIS!! The best club in Mirfield, suprising, as there aren't any other clubs.
  • The Isis or Crisis as it is better known, very dodgy!
  • The seedy club in Mirfield is called ISIS other wise known as CRISIS - yes its that bad - wipe your feet to come out.
  • ISIS!!!!!! What a dive
  • We had a club but they turned it into the Salvation Army. Draw your own conclusions. (ISIS doesn't count)
  • Old Bank workings men club, with its over used squash courts and bowling club. Its also got an angling club but you've got to be one of the boys if you want to win the matches.Old Bank is also where you'll find John Cottons board room, its where all those big desitions are made.
  • Isis!!!-its shit
  • Well there's club Isis - DJ big Al! oh dear, and club OCM leaks
  • At the end of the day ISIS is a good laugh, student nights on thursdays, but a bit of competition from the dusty miller at £1 for everything.
  • ISIS has just opened. Again might pop down there hen I reach 90.
  • My advise for clubs is stay clear of local spots there usually seedy little holes for a decent night out I advise Leeds As for pubs The Thirsty Man on Old Bank Road is okay for the Football
  • The Frontier - Batley
  • Panache. Now closed, but once a favourite for selling illegal substances
  • The Panache nightclub is no more. It has been closed for at least four years and has just been bought by the local Sally Army and opened as a church type thingy. An interesting fact about the Panache is it is where Hard Times, which went to NATO in Leeds, started out life.
  • Panache on the corner of Huddersfield and Knowle Road. You're better off at the Blockbuster Video shop next door.

Live Music Venues

  • isis but im barred arnt i
  • Working men’s clubs are the only places to get live bands.
  • The Wilsons Arms, Huddersfield Road, has regular live bands and a jam night.
  • Got to be the grotty Bull. Standing outside listening to drunken bums singing Karaoke is the highlight of my Sundays!!
  • The Longbow USED to be the place to go for live music - I played there regularly with Ray Braithwaite on his amazing jam sessions between 1993-94
  • You must be joking - unless you like church music. Mirfield has abnormally large churches and a veritable throng of monks.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Mirfield. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Mirfield.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
