Skateboarding Spots
SkatePark at the end of the car park by the quay. spine Mini leading to subbox and flat bank which leads to 2 shallow crappy quarters at the end of the park with another crappy fglatbank with subbox. IN the midle of the park is a driveway with box across and down it next to a jump box leading to flat bank and steep quarter. Ground is rough and eats boards, close to the beach and hence has a layer of sand over it...transitions are pretty crap too, big holes before most of the ramps make dropping in interesting to say the least.
I had a damn good skate there though and the locals were pretty friendly, worth a visit if you're stuck in the area.
new grenville bank been made 2006

i am writin to update the spots and the tricks put down in bideford famous grenville bank, robbie frontside 180 tom forrester backside 180 phil tithecott 180 and kickflip. In the last reports no one mention about instead of skatin the eight at bidi college you can go over the ledge there same as grenville bank by the same people and tricks the ten have now been kick flipped by phil. Bideford skatepark n e one that hasnt been down there go now it is a good park and there are so many different lines you can do it is quite nicely set out seems that bladers were the ones that designed it just look around and check out the schools in bideford although bideford college has got cameras in but i havent tried them out yet to see wat happens if u get caught

I think youll find a waxed curb within 10 m of anywhere you go in bideford. However, if you want a proper scate park, go to the end of the park car park along the quay. Its quite new but dont go there if your not very good. Its quite slippery and people dont take kindly to you getting in the way when you fall over
skatepark is wicked full of punk rockers ,get down there for a skate
they've built the skatepark in bideford now and thats pretty much where everyone hangs out now, parks alright its got a mini ramp with spine(5ft), driveway, big quarter(6ft),3 flat banks,2 mini quarters, jumpbox, sub box .But its made of metal.
Edgehill has small undercover (lit at night) section with manual rolls, grenville has lots of steps and the legendary grenville bank, backside ollied by hot local person chewy louie. NEW KICKIN STEPS AT BIDEFORD COLLEGE! LIT AT NIGHT! (a bit). Bowls at devonshire park (crap). Supposedly they're building a proper park sometime. Meanwhile pilgramages from all over the world are often held to the 'Sam Wiseman three' a set of steps in grenville which the legendary SAM WISEMAN himself OLLIED! With no hands and everything! The guy is AMAZING.
Drainage ditch on the east (water) side only worth skating if it hasn't rained for a while. Also slidey benches and curbs on the quay. Bideford Secondary School: four steps + one flight twice as big. Various handrails. Waxed up curb. Low bench and normal bench on Quay (outside Kneels). Grindy curbs at Safeway (totally crap).

Grenville college home of the famous grenville bank- kickfliped by the young dave brown. westcroft- wicked roof gaps on the hutsd. a 13 ft drop amazingly ollied and landed by Tom Forrester. high 7 set a 6 set a few curbs at the nursery an average sized 3 and 2 slab sets. there is a skate park on bank end but pissing off grannies on street spots is more fun!!!
Kenbirds on the quay is great, Kenny will knock up to 50p off a setup if he really likes you. And supply 1994 editions of thrasher. His band, Kenny and the Freebirds, play on tuesdays in the tavern. ROCK ON!
If you're walking down the High Street on your way to Discovery there's this shop called 'Surf Skate and Mountain Bike'. I've never gone in.
