Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains

  • Ginos and D2 are the best I find for casual stuff, but I prefer Ginos.
  • topshop freedom, some trendy gear...if you have the money!
  • tk maxx its sort of a skate shop expect its VERY BIG
  • Try Paranoid in the High St Mall, or Freedom clothing, everwhere else is full of CHEAP CRAP!
  • Portadown is useless for clothes unless you are a sports spide or into rip off designer brand names.
  • KA-KA has went down hill since that good looking hunky guy who worked there over the summer left.
  • kaka, internacionale for the ladies, ginos's for the males and dunnes stores for your granny! we r well equiped here in portadown!
  • what there are no decent ones but top shop is commin so that could be good
  • ginos etc
  • TK Maxx in Craigavon Shopping centre. A great place to pick up a real designer bargain. And of course Next, but don't go to their sale at Christmas unless your prepared to queue for hours!!
  • Gino's was the place to get your cheap joe blogg's stuff, then Levi's
  • Clothes are hard to get at a decent price in Portadown, but I think one of the better shops is jeansters.
  • There is and extreme amount just any where in the town center kaka / jeanster / etc.
  • Oh, well how can we not mention Mr Subberwall's KAKA!? Cheap, nasty and there's always something for everyone! Does anyone remember the wee factory shop on Charles Street? It was in the wee house to the side of the TA Centre. My mum would bring me in there for school clothes.
  • For girlie clothes- Internationale and New Look are fun and good value. you won't touch Ka Ka with a bargepole if you're wise... For guys (and sometimes girls too) Ginos has some good gear.
  • Jeansters

Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)

  • if you're lookin material, beads, sequins and stuff like that, mrs sew n sew is a good 1. its moved to beside the fairgreen
  • millenium arts centre no where else really celebrates the arts in portadown and the crat shops suck go to bradbury graphics (belfast)
  • The Millennium Court Arts Centre on William Street. It is in the Old Market Building and is good for a check out. They also have a wee shop selling crafty bits!
  • A few of those crappy places you get in every dive anywhere. Art? As in graffiti? No. Only stupid wankers have ATTEMPTED graffiti which is limited to scrawling UVF/LVF/IRA or their own shitty 'tag' on everything in site. Although a few places have the odd bit of graffiti that looks well done
  • there was a coffin gallery in portadown not that long ago in Millenium Court. go there, its free and cool when your stoned
  • The Find - if you can find it!
  • End of term shows at UBI in Lurgan for Art, Textiles and Photography. Some really good multimedia design. A must for techies and hippies alike!
  • Above the market, there is supposed to be an art gallery?
  • The Mandeville Gallery has some good postcards and posters etc., in amongst the Granny-tat.
  • there is "the find" down woodhouse street. it seems arts ands crafts but i have no need to be in there
  • Burning disires in medow shopping center at the back of town center
  • Summer school at St.John's Primary School......lots of paint and stuff....
  • THE FIND WOODHOUSE ST PORTADOWN FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT ALSO LOTS OF HAND PAINTED FURNITURE COME IN AND SEE FOR YOUR SELF
  • Numerous nick-nacks to thrill your granny. Check out the household sections at Castle Hardware for the ultimate in provincial tat. But it's still a good hardware store.
  • V stewerts have the best local crafts in Ulster

Magazine and Comic Shops

  • Jeffers is prob the best here apart from Eason, NPO etc....
  • burning desires, bridge street

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Portadown. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Portadown.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
