Favourite Building
Vicarage Road Stadium! Best place, best team - Watch out Premier League, we are coming back to get you!!!
Had to be that ever changing club that is now Destiny..I remember it as Paradise Lost, and Baileys..long ago. Like Madonna, same thing, different image!
Bombo Kebab House.....Town Centre
Vicarage Road. The only reason why anyone could possibly want to visit this most dire of burghs.
There aren't any decent buildings [unless you count Vicarage Road Stadium]- it's either modern hi-tech stuff or dull pre-war stuff
harlequin
There arnt any, all knocked down long ago by far-sighted council
Demolish It Now Building
Lutn Town's Football Ground - or should that be Shit hole!!!!
Clements....expensive, old fashioned, just get shot of it
Watford Town Hall as long as the Councillors are inside.
The whole town, but please don't give any warning when it happens.
CAPE HOUSE AS IT IS FULL OF POMPOUS TWATS. AND BHS RESTAURANT AS THEY HAVE A CRAP MANAGER CALLED JANICE
All the Car Parks on the Ring Road
Destiny Nightclub
Vicarage Road
The fly over that cuts the high street in two
The Blue Pyramid at the bottom of the High Street, who got the back hander to be allowed to develop it?
The Best Things
The top of the town is crammed packed with nightspots. It's a fantastic place for a night out.
Lots of pub's, one very good club 'Area', lot of places to eat and finally lots of very good looking women (have you noticed the amount of page 3 girls that are from Watford?)
Knowing everyone that walks down the atreet.
Walks in Cassiobury Park.
Watford FC!
Good schools in the area.
Easy to get to London, just a shame about the train service!
Peace Memorial sculpture beside the Town Hall. Although the council should keep it better.
Watford Football Club
PJs was the best I worked there, now the Halifax Building Society
Getting onto the M1 link road on the way out, this usually takes about 30 minutes if you have been to the towns car parks.
Cycling along the Grand Union from Hunton Bridge to Croxley on a summer evening
Watford FC - pride of Hertfordshire
Excellent schooling
Only 20 minutes from Euston [but bloody expensive] and outside the rush hour you can drive into the West End within half an hour
The shops.
Good shopping Good local newspaper Good cosmopolitan mix of people in the town
The Parks
Tthe Harlequin shopping centre. Two floors with all the major shops including a John Lewis, M&S etc.
The Worst Things
Where can I begin??? People, Place to go, E V E R Y T H I N G!!!!!!
There is a dreadful old git called Roy Stockdill who writes deliberately inflamatory nonsence in the free Observer.
Rude boys, plenty of young lads in there Kevved up XR3i's with plenty of attitude when with there mates, personally I like to get em on there own and scare the living hell out of em it's very good fun, also too many wierdo's about, it's a bit like care in the community taken to extreme
Typical Watford Slappers.
Too much trouble in the High Street at night, many peoplewon't go into Watford after dark. Skateboarders in the High Street. Cyclists who cycle too faST AND DON'T KEEP TO THE CYCLE PATH. Cycle path would be better green, not clearly identified.
Luton fans who live in Watford. We can do without these economic migrants. Graham Taylor's retirement - a smashing bloke.
All sense of history has been obliterated, despite a Royal Charter for a market dating from the thirteenth century. The only remnants of anything pre-1900 can be found in the High Street engulfed by the Harlequin. Also, the Met line finishes in a park, which is dumb.
Luton!! How can they claim to be London Luton airport?? They're about 30 miles out. And the last time I was there it was being redeveloped so there was no Duty Free :(
Silverlink! I have recently moved to a Connex line but no matter how bad they get I know that Silverlink is worse.
Stupid flyover which bisects the High Street. Council should;
a)Dig a tunnel and send it underground (3yrs of dust and 10 million quid)
b)Disguise it with hedging (30 quid)
Giant insect sculpture outside McDonald's. It's supposed to be a hornet.....Scary! Really sinister.
Luton is just too near!
The local Councils policy of employing the unemployable as traffic Wardens to support their money making schemes of charging everyone, everytime they drive anywhere near the town.Clampers and all sorts exist here even on Sundays or when Watford or Saracens are playing at home and even on Bank Holidays.Traffic jams are commonplace in and around the ring road which has so many sets of unsyncronised lights its a joke....avoid it like the plague.
The whole town & the people in it.
The parking in Bushey
Unless you own a shop there
the staff all park where they shouldn't
Elton John.
Too many Retail Parks and The Harlequin Centre bringing out of towners to watford and clogging our roads
It's too close to Luton which is the worst town in England and only useful for the Airport
Way 2 much attitude!!! Especially with the 17 year girls!!!!! No names mentioned
The young idiots that hang around the shops
Not many good places to eat - unless you like the good old burger.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
Have Your Say...
The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.
You can tell us more about Watford.
This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here.
(But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)
You can use the add an event form
to tell us about events happening in Watford.
Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
