Record Shops
Raves from the Graves - One of the workers has a weird obsession with Ringo Starr
Raves from the graves can get you almost anything you want.
Yes it is an amazing shop of great individual character - Raves from the Graves - run by real officionadoes. If it's not there they'll find it.
Raves from the grave!! most excellent collection, well worth a visit
There is raves from the grave!! thats quite good because it sells alot of good albums at reasonable prices. i think thats it really!! but i normally go to bath and go to fopp because thats really cheep and also has great stuff!!
Raves from the grave - Dam fine record shop but to expensive
All the run of the mill shops Woolworths/WH Smiths for usual charty cack
raves from the graves is wicked, but pricey
try 'Raves From the Grave' excellent! also it's sister shop 'Video Crypt'
Raves from the graves, good but the prices seem to go up every week! Use internet shopping for that kinda stuff alot cheeper.
Raves from the graves, loads of old and new CDs, tapes and vinyl at regular prices!! Fantastic!
Raves from the Grave is the Dogs Dodas everthing by everyone you could imagine, very small but very jam packed with goodies, nice owners but a bit scatty when busy.
DUDE, RAVES FROM THE GRAVES ROCKS!!! BUY ALL YOUR STUFF FROM HERE UP CHEAP STREET (next to the shitty fruit store)
Raves from the Graves is THE place to find modern and obscure tracks...covers all genres and is manned by very friendly and helpfull staff...
Raves from the Grave- good selection of cast-offs here
raves from the grave.cheap street.
A rather peculiar second hand establishment up a side street.
Raves from the Grave - an EXCELLENT place to start the trek of FROME - you name it, they get it!
Raves from the Grave and the Video Crypt (same owners) -- Lots of cheap music, especially good for records.
Raves from the Grave (prop. Richard Churchyard), Cheap Street
Raves from the Grave used to be up a big hill is now in the main street. It has old tapes of raves so if your looking for a long lost tune its great.
Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
Level is a good venue for late nite drinking, the number of violent incidents have dramatically decreased over the past 2 years. Cheesey music is always good when your drunk. The doorman are friendly, helpful and good looking which is a novelty these days. the bar staff are professional.and usually a good nite is had by 90% of the people in the club.
Club ice is were mosp people r goin at da mo!! monday nights is under 18s nd thats gr8!! bin dera few times nd the bitch fights r sssssssooooooooo funni!!
Previously known as McGuinesses is now 'Level 1'. The only difference is the name, the bouncers are as big and scary as ever, but there's now 3 bars instead of 2, a worth while cloakroom. But don't stand in the same spot for too long, if you have to make sure you move your feet or you'll get stuck and have to leave your shoes behind
mcguinness is not longer mcguinness its now level one and these people writing on here haven't got a clue what they are saying so come on down
With its sticky floors, no locks on the loo doors, grumpy barstaff and condensation dripping from the ceiling, I would strongly recommend you go elsewhere (unless you fancy catching something nasty - not only from the environment but from some of the people....)regular fights are always enternaining though!
Non Existant would not class the local blood and guts boxing ring above safeway as a club..alright for the townie knuckle dragger types who like bad beer fights and zero brains
Monday club in what was the trinity Dose this still happen ?
locally known as 'Guinnee's' the 'cattle market' is the spot to go if you're looking for LOVE!!
take a helmet to mcguinesse's,usefull if you "accidently" fall down the stairs.
Gingos aka McG's, The Party Palace, The Malace Palace
The weekend cattle market above Safeway. Good for cheese and cheese only, dogs and riff raff! Supposedly new club planned for 2003, building work in process.
Gingos aka mcguinesses. A fab friday and Saturday nite out, even if mega mega cheesy. As long as you like a bit of rough a fab nite out!! (and im not just talking about the girls!!!)
OSCARS THE PLACE TO BE!
Ginogos (mcguinesses) never the same since the manhatten skyline came down and the sticky carpet went.....they now sell bottled water, you used to get bottled!!!
McGuinness Nite Spot-Dress code, no not really but boys latest townie clone shirt blue/plain, shoes or trainers black trousers. Girls little as possible and shoes or boots with heels so high they can't walk or end up registerd disabled 5 years later.
Having not lived in Frome for a long time (16 years)good to see that McGuinesses still play the same music with a bit of s club 7 chucked in!Still looks like the old snooker hall!Young patrons - NOT - still the same people from 1986 drink there. BUT GOOD FUN.
McGuinnesses was better when the lighting meant that you couldn't see what the girls actually looked like
McGuinesses nightclub is known as the local dive but is a very friendly place with virtually no dress code (except no hats!?!?!?). The best DJ there is Karl Maggs who works some Saturdays. He is the best DJ I have ever seen - plays much better music than other DJ's in this area. Worth going on a Saturday - just to experience the variety of his music.
the only nightclub in town is crap
Uhh, nope!
Mc Guinesses! Ha! Stroppy young lasses who enjoy nothing more than a good punch up - Slick & slimey Barry boys who know words of only 1 syllable - but hey! it has to be done at the weekend!
McGuinness's is also known by some locals as "The Palace (of glittering delights)" or "The Meat Market".
McGuinnesses -- a small club (more like late bar with a dance floor) next to Safeways. Very Frome - y , but cheap to enter - you can get a ticket for a pound if you buy a drink at the Ship (Badcox) before 9 pm.
McGuinneses NITE Club is also known as the "Party Palace" as this is what it really is. Never failing to live up to its nick name on a friday or saturday NITE after chuking out time. The "Party Palace" is Fromes very own unknown and ubiquotous small town NITE spot.

Frome Acoustic Club in "The Undercroft" at St. John's Church Hall is THE place to go to see new performers as well as established acts trying out new stuff. Great atmosphere and sh** loads of fun. F.f.i. tel. Clive, Carol or Keith on 01373 461 847
"FROME ACOUSTIC CLUB". Frome Acoustic Club in one guise or another has been in and out of existance for over 15 years. In its latest incarnation it takes place in the amazingly atmospheric "Undercroft" of St. John's Church Hall once a month, generally on the second Saturday of the month, but look out for posters and the local press for exact dates. F.A.C. aims to encourage the people of Frome to go out and perform their own music in front of a supportive and enthusiastic crowd. Usually by the end of the evening everyone has had a thumping great time as you never quite know what's going to happen! Authentic Indian food is available on Club nights and a free "art" exhibition is thrown in for good measure. If you would like to play, exhibit or just want more info contact Clive Melton, Carol Foster or Keith Paddock on 01373 461847.
Cheese & Grain Beat thing to happen to frome since the wheel brilliant live bands no trouble no townies good night out check www.cheeseandgrain.co.uk
For a lively night out you'd do well to AVOID the monthly acoustic night in the church crypt on Vicarage Street. The music's not bad but the place is filled with wealthy middle-aged middle-class herbivores, the sort that desperately want to be thought of as free-living hippies. They take the whole thing entirely too seriously, ensuring that every drop of fun is stamped out. I've seen more life at a wake, more fun too.
The Cheese and Grain is agreat musical venue if they ever sound proof it and stop the residents of the NEW RIVERSIDE APPARTMENTS from moaning about the noise
Cheese and Grain, long live cheese and grain and all its yanky punks! Top bands and events regularly.
Cheese & Grain-All sorts country, punk, metal, blues, comedy, jazz and local folk
The Sun at Catherine Hill on Occasions.
Ecos Theatre in the summer months
CHEESE N' GRAIN!!! now becoming a more n more bigger venue. Earthtone9, Gunz n Rozes, etc All the big bands are queing up.
Cheesy Grain for remarkably good bands and remarkably bad atmosphere. (Don't park your car anywhere near it if it's worth keeping.)
The Memorial Theatre is a somewhat larger Theatre than the Merlin. It hosts professional and amateur variety shows of extremely high standard and is run on a non profit making basis by dedicated volunteers. Visit its website at www.mtc.org.uk
Buskers seem to like the high street
Cheesey Groin - It's ace!

Blue Boar has a good n'cheesey juke box most Tuesdays!
THE MERLIN THEATRE HOSTS NUMEROUS MUSIC SHOWS - EG LINDISFARNE HAVE
