Skateboarding Spots

  • As stated many times, Victoria park and the cheese and grain park for skaters, if you want to avoid being attacked by chavs stay away from the cheese and grain park.
  • There's a built set up in the Market yard.
  • Next to the Cheese and Grain Hall.
  • Victoria skate park is getting back into us lots of new old and new skaters have started and skatings coming back to frome. sainsburys has 2 set a bit of a sketchy landing but ok for both new and old skaters who dont mind the landing homebase car park has some flat ground bits to ollie and do tricks on a sort of small slop that leads into a run across the car park and along this flower beds about 3/4 of a meter the back of carpet right is ok usaly they leave some stuff out to use for manual pads and things to ollie (they dont really like u skating there but ah well..)
  • Well there are 2 skatbord parcs in town. there is one in victoria parc but evry1 jst sits on there and gt stoned no 1 rele uses that anymore and there is another one in the town by the cheese and grain!
  • College. 2 4 sets, a six, 2 sevens, and a five. Selwood. 1 long 5, and 1 long 7. Cheese and Grain. Rollin, Death box with two straights and a flat, massive three set. Always full of gypos though. Viccy Park. Good if you like ramp (which i don't) cos there is a lush spine. Other wise its just a funbox with no run up.
  • High Rider
  • victoria park is ok, it has 2 halfpipes
  • in april 2002 a new park will be built beside the cheese and grain in market yard car park. for more info on this go to www.highrider.com or ring them 01373 453727. this park was designed by the guys at high rider as a temporary park which will stand until the main skate park is built (should be 3 times the size) which is planned for 2004/5.
  • Watch out for the new Skatepark by the Cheese & Grain, due for completion Easter 2002.
  • Skate Park park road and since OPMs hit all over the bloody town.
  • Up vicky park. the fluoff hs been removed but the funbox is pretty kick ass. Recently been replated so the 1/2 pipes very slippy. Outside Olivers shoe shop there a lil wall you can slide. pretty nice. Cheese n grain car park good for flatland Selwood skool good street stuff includes quite a large 5-set lots of benches etc Frome College - two four sets, makes a good sk8 line.
  • Lots of big hills. Also lots of dog sh**e
  • Don't know much about skating - but the quarry pits next to railway tracks by Rodden serve as excellent Mountain Bike/BMX spots! The fields at the back of the mount & also Heavens Gate are pretty cool to ride on a Dirtboard too!
  • Mary Bailey Playing Field, Park Road.

Skateboard Shops

  • High Rider on Catherine Hill
  • The shops in Frome are all fine and dandy but it always pays to check out the internet for better prices.
  • TR has the best shop for miles - Highrider. it is on Catherine Hill and is temporarily open only on Saturdays.
  • well there is highryder at the top of town thats quite good 4 stuff like dat oh and there is revert but thats more of a clothes shop but most people just go to bath!
  • High Rider Catherine Hill Latest Kraze Just off Safeway Precinct
  • the latest craze is good, they have sketchers for £20
  • there is only 1 TRUE skate shop in frome - HIGH RIDER. they know what they are talking about 'cos they all ride. they are hidden up catherine hill to escape from the mainsteam and to remain exclusive to thase in the know. all hard core brands catered for. full range of accessories also. theses guys are the main people involved in putting up the new skate park which is being built in market yard car park beside the cheese and grain. for more info check out their website www.highrider.com.
  • Well at one point there was about 4 on the go, far to many for such a small town. But since then I think about half have died or moved out. A good 1 at the top of Catherine Hill, bit of a trek though.
  • High Rider-Latest Kraze but I think you should all get a bike to exercise your legs evenly insted of the push along one.
  • Confusions - a lil shop where i sometimes hang out n watch a sk8 vid or ten.
  • Vic Park - just wait 'til they ain't lookin' - very cheap indeed!!(JOKE!)

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Frome. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Frome.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
