The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
When you are at home in whitstable, the chinese ands other take-aways compete to have your custom. Meals tend to be garrullous! and big. it's worth spending £1.20 on chips being brought to you by the local takeaway (if you don't like chips you can order rice!)
come down and have fun. but stop beihg pillocks
What a great site if you want to hear the truth about a place and its people this is the site to click onto.I see we have a protector [see the knowhere board `Pontificating Slanderers`]of the `not so nice people of the area` and he or she says the people who make these remarks are nasty and cowardly and yet he or she [but we all know who] hides behind the nickname of `Larry the Fish`[a bit slimey dont you think]pehaps he or she`s one of them!!Whitstable is full of a great cross section of people which is made up of 25% locals and 70% settlers from elswhere and 5% visitors and the locals are not happy with the situation.Especially as the majority of the settlers are the ones who are `doing OK` and are resposible for putting Whitstable on the map and creating more employement in the area.Just take a look at the commercialism around the Thanet Way in Whitstable made up of mainly NON LOCALS?????[Oh and of course the pikey families which are locals]
New arrivals Harry Hill the comedian has bought a place in Admiralty Walk.Likewise Janet Street-Porter has a place in Seasalter Beach. The place is becoming overun with celeb's.Don't know what the Oyster's think.I hear there all leaving for Essex. You can Buy Peter Cushings Derelict house for 350K

Ex- WWII Sea Forts as featured in Museum. Now totally pointless.
Squeeze Guts Alley, linking Middle wall to Island wall. Not for the overweight.
The first Railway to the Whitstable opened in May 1830 ie BEFORE the Liverpool & Manchester using a Stephenson built locomotive which preceeded "Rocket" - so there!!
In Victorian times Whitstable was THE International Centre for Diving - not a lot of people know that!
World famous for its Oysters which would circumnavigate the Isle of Sheppy during their life cycle. Pollution from the River Medway stopped that. Now farmed and grow in plastic mesh sacks and thus kept from their travels - probably healthier for it though!
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
