tk maxx is a sure shot for cheaqp, good clothes, allience is alright for skate an surf stuff, top man has some alright stuff, you can sometimes find something in oxfam, and theres some good stuff in some charity shops
G23? abit expensive... TK max has some good clothes sometimes for quite chweap too
tk maxx is the best place for CHEEP baggies and hoodies ect ect.
sunwin house is the best 4 clothes
g23
ha ha ok if you got like £40 to spend on a tee shirt! all ridiculously overpriced for the typical metrosexuals who frequent the harrogate city centre with their chests puffed out and muscles ripplin (god i really don't like it do i!!!)
Either chains like Top Shop/DP's or majorily expensive posh shops. Nothing really in between. New La Senza (about time) which is pretty good for the girls out there. Otherwise is worth going to York or Leeds.
Sunwin house has evrifing and Bijoux can hav sum gud crap
cheeky TKMax is really good in harrogate to be honest
Dumblonde in the arcade opposite BRB sells seriously cool clothes and saves a trip to Leeds. I hear they're moving to a bigger shop soon - good news, Harrogate needs it.
g23, bay, nu luk, miss selfridge, bubblegum (soon 2 b goldigga) and topshop
dumb blond. has to be the best thing to happen to the shops in harrogate for years. i cant remember what i used to wear before i found it at the back of the arcade, near the back entrance to debenhams. for girls aged about 15 upwards it always has great stuff. i love all the clothes i have bought there, and i love them even more as buying them did not give my credit card a heart attack, and at the same time the woman who runs the shop is choosey about how many of each item she gets in, so you dont see every other person wearing the top you just bought! and she always makes you feel welcome, without feeling pressured to buy!
Porters is the only half decent place really. The people who work there do their best to make you feel like an unfashionable idiot when you go in though. Leopard is good, but pricey.
sunwin house has just had a make over, phwarr! doesnt look like the same place, good for trendy clothes. Hard to find different mosher/punk clothes, leeds soho and korn exchange is best for girls.
nowhere good at all. the usual topshop, miss selfridge high street stuff's about it. used to be a cool hippy shop by the name of batindi in victoria gardens - kept movin about, then sadly disappeared.
G23 opposite Mc Ds
G23 is cool, but abit over priced, Sunwin House has snippets of all the shops you'd expect, but not exactly a wide range of anything. Theres a cool shop called Dumblonde down one of the archades, but its very expensive.
Porters sells some gorgeous stuff, quite remarkably TK Maxx is a good place for 1-off designer stuff and Designer Room is good too
Go to Leeds
Porters is good for trendy boys clothes and the newly refurbed G23 is quite cool too
Porters if you're rich.
Outside of the usual high street chains, a bit more expensive, but well worth a look are Porters, Morgan Clare and Lynx. They all sell designer clothes but are quite good in the sales.
G23 is on bular street and sells all the best designer cloths but it aint cheap
nEW lOOK, tOP sHOP, funky doodys
Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)
Art from the heart at hornbeam park
Loads of little gift type shops and craft stuff. Just wonder round in pretty much any direction and you'll find some.
ooohhhhh.da art shop opposit Warp 9 and dats all i kno apart frm Craftessantials in Bilton its near a fish+chip shop
lots of little antiquey places - visited by bill clinton, no less. quite a few little arty/antiques places in the pretty bits of town.
Balls-U-Like are a new company selling juggling equipment, diabolos, bubble makers, fire juggling equipment etc. They are having a stall in the Victoria Shopping Centre Thursdays and Fridays from mid November until Christmas. This sort of thing is hard to buy locally so it might be worth a visit. tel Steph or Annie on 01423 863966. Email ballsulike@btopenworld.com. Web www, ballsulike.biz
Antiques...antiques and more antiques.
As many of the locals here have way too much time and money on their hands, a collection of third rate trinkets can be picked up almost anywhere.
There are some, but I don't know much about them. Sorry.
Magazine and Comic Shops
The only decent newsagents in the whole of Harrogate is the one in the train station. They sell just about every magazine available, and the counter is situated perfectly to be able to buy that naughty mag with no-one being able to see.
