Favourite Building

  • The ridiculously stupid abbey arch
  • Theatre's ok I guess. Waitrose is ok too. Skating wise.
  • St James' school.
  • malvern college
  • Difficult one...probably....m.mm.mmm.mmmm..uh...uh..prob..abl.y....nowhere!!
  • Waitrose
  • WATEROSE IS PRETTY GOOD FOR SKATING BUT HASN'T OPENED YET SO I DONT KNOW
  • THe Priory. That's pretty cool
  • -The Priory and its churchyard
  • Malvern Girls' College (but shame about the Tower)

Demolish It Now Building

  • THE CHASE! i want to see it destroyed- the shithole
  • the cop shop
  • some of the 748 supermarkets we have. How many does a town of 35000 need?! Waitrose, Safeway, 2 Somerfields, a Co-Op, a Lidl on the way, Kwiksave...
  • boots
  • Malvern college and all the keepers
  • Most of them.... The New Theatre
  • GET RID OF THAT WAITROSE S**T FROM OUR HILLS.
  • MALVERN CINEMA COS THE FURRY FACED SECURITY SUCK
  • Dyson Perrins High School. Grrrr!!!
  • That "modern" block of flats up Abbey Road!
  • The Post Office, Great Malvern
  • -The Waitrose Store currently being built as a direct result of District Councillors ignoring local people's wishes, and the decision of the Town Council. Where else would you find a Council destroying 200 mature trees IN A CONSERVATION AREA, overlooked by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in a town centre, removing a car park (and reducing the number of spaces available) that grew cowslips, destroying the town's Market, and probably the few independent (ie interesting) shops left.
  • Waitrose: this is really a demolish it before it's been built building.

The Best Things

  • it's not far from Birmingham
  • "sometimes i want to go, where everybody knows your name" cheers
  • None, really. It's a shed. The hills are ok I guess. Wear a bit thin after 20 years of em mind.
  • The Cavalry Arms - Mamby Rd
  • very friendly place
  • The abundance of train stations!
  • The skate spots
  • lots of students to talk to and hang out with
  • I don't live there anymore. Yees!!!
  • People, Parties, Pubs
  • -The Hills -The trees -The TOWN Council (Sympathetic, democratic, get a lot done with little money) -The weird folk who live here -The hope that The Malvern Hills Conservators (who "look after" the Hills) will stop behaving like rabid lumberjacks and protect the Hills. -Malvern Hills College - arts and recreational courses.
  • Fishing for sticklebacks in Priory Pond
  • Knowing you can get on a train and go somewhere else!
  • The water (but make sure you're not collecting from a Schweppes overflow thinking it's a spring).
  • The Hills.

The Worst Things

  • Being a bored teenager. It was hell. And all those moaning residents. Get a life - there's more to the world than red paint on roads and naiming new theatres. *yes*, that's right, there is....
  • sometimes the weather but that cant be helped.
  • The world's worst drivers - maniac, homicidal thugs. The police seem to have abandoned traffic law. Kep away unless you drive a Tiger Tank!
  • old people about 70% of the population. the town council!!!. Small minded beer boys. Pikey's. To close to mental hospital for my liking. day release day friday so stay indoors and finally tourists.
  • the boredom
  • The old people who are categorically against anyone having fun. The Townies, who I wish'd just curl up and die. The lack of skate spots. The council, who spend stupid amounts of money on stupidly pointless things, when half the basic stuff doesn't work.
  • its on a hill - church street is especially cruel
  • The HILLS!!The lack of available taxis....the old ticket man at the Malvern Link station,___--,,,...the cold wind in the winter and the crummy shops in malvern!!
  • The weather
  • The way that everyone looks at skateboards like they are pieces of s~~t
  • TOWNIES
  • OLD PEOPLE!! EVERYWHERE!! AAAGH!!!
  • Lethargy The Old Folk
  • - The DISTRICT Council (Rarely listen to local opinion, ruled by a bunch of frenzied suburbanites who's idea of creative planning is: "No one shops in the town centre any more, what shall we do? Lets build another supermarket, next to the existing one on the edge of the town and replace the last lot of new paving we put down three years ago." - Lack of Further Education, or jobs, meaning that virtually all young residents who do not want to work for a supermarket leave - and don't come back.
  • The New Space
  • Public School Children and their 4wd driving parents.
  • Foreign Students (we love you too - especially your money).
  • Malvern Hills District Council.
  • The tourists (no, we love you really).
  • The Hills in Winter.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Great Malvern. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Great Malvern.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
