Skateboarding Spots

  • Cantelowes Park (between Oseney Crescent and Camden Rd)
  • Cantalowes is not closed as it says in the listings. The council took the metal ramps away, but theres still the original tombstone and banks. The scene is thriving, with old and new rippers. Come and check it out. Camden Road, Camden. (not sure if it should be in Kentish Town lisitings!) Also Talacre bowl that was filled many years ago, has now finally been destroyed during park renovations.
  • You're joking aren't you - there's not a a flat surface to be had anywhere...
  • Cantelowes Gardens, Skate Facilities, Kentish Town, London Unfortunately, in December 2001 the London Borough of Camden Parks and Open Spaces Service had to close the Skateboarding facility at Cantelowes Gardens for Safety reasons. It will remain closed until funding is available to refurbish the skate park to a safe standard. We apologise for the inconvenience.
  • Cantelowes Park
  • IT USE TO BE THE TALACRE BOWL. DUNNO NOW. SINCE THE GIPO'S MOVED IN THERE PERMINATLEY
  • Cantelows Park. Downhill slope into paving stone bank. Mogul type bump with banked sides. Fun. Heavy rollerboot presence, but also used for occasional sessions by many London skaters. Put this one fairly high on your list of places to visit after South Bank. Now [97] has a 6.5 foot midi-ramp with attached quarter-pipes. The concrete banks have been extended upwards, with steel coping attached. There is also a transitioned 'grind-box' on the banks.

There's more information about this spot in the Slam City Guide.

Skateboard Shops

  • STATE ATTACK OF COURSE, BORN IN NW5 AND STILL RUNNING OR ROLLING ON. BO
  • Skate Attack, Kentish Town for Inline and Rollerskates, but Insane in Camden for skateboards.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Kentish Town. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Kentish Town.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
