Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars

  • Gaybar and jizma, jizma's ok but wood advise against kazbar unless u r well drunk
  • The Kazbar, The Break and Manorism - good regular choice of gigs
  • Although now closed, The Break is hosting a party this weekend. It is a charity event to raise money to educate children in africa. The price is £5.00 a ticket, Saturday 23rd July 2005, 9pm til 2am, dress code: black and white, Music: DANCE ANTHEMS AND CLUB CLASSICS, DJ's Dave Monk, Stevee Wonda and Alex.
  • You mention Ricks Bar at Widemouth Manor, but Widemouth manor has been sold and now has new owners. Its now called Whyle's Bar. Music policy is now cheese, no more dance, some bands play in the bar too. Food is good though! Could you please put a mention on for a Charity Event which is happening on Saturday 23rd July 2005, at The Break (formerly Carisma and Sandals) in Bude, yes I know its closed but it is being re-opened for this special event. A DANCE ANTHEMS night is being held to raise money for the education of children in Africa, Tickets are £5.00 each, dress code is black and white, time is 9pm til 2am, DJ's are DAVE MONK, STEVEE WONDA AND ALEX RAKSHANI. All the dance classics will be played, an event not to be missed! Be there or be square!
  • The Break nightclub (formerly Carizma) at the headland has now CLOSED. The only options now left are the newly refurbished Kazbar on the Strand or the recently sold Manorism at Widemouth.
  • Carisma, Widemouth Manor and Cazbar - you gotta make the best of what you got when you live in a small town. People claim they're all rubbish but its better than sitting in all night!!
  • Most of the clubs/bars in bude play cheese which is great on a saturday night would like to see some more hip hop nights on other nights though.
  • carizma
  • Bude is shit for clubs, but theres charizma (I really hate that place) the manor is better but its about a 10 min drive from bude
  • jokers is now called kazbar, done up real nice but its the same ol'music and i i heard there threatning to introduce a smart dress code. sandals is now called carizma loads of hot young girls in the summer. manors still the same but with a stricter drugs policy!
  • sandals is now carizma for young drunken cheese and jokers is now kazbar check it out manor is still the manor but check out ricks bar for bands and djs can be rad!
  • gotta be JJ's/carisma in town, The Manor is good -others - who am I to say - we have several cool watering holes - explore ??!!!!!
  • Check out VINYL MOTION @ PENSTOWE, top Djs lined up for the winter.
  • Jokers Fun Pub - Great club. No great music, but ace atmosphere. Gets crowded very early. The bar staff are friendly, Widemouth Manor - Better music, but not so popular, as it's a bus journey (from the Carriers Pub) to get to it. Sandals - Don't do it.
  • Penstowe - very lame & expensive.
  • Sandals - pretty lame but good occasionally when good djs come.
  • he Widmouth Manor - includes Nightclub with djs and a seperate bar with live bands.
  • The Jokers Fun Bar

Live Music Venues

  • Down in the arches near thge breakwater raves are held in the summer every sat
  • Inn on The Green, The Tree Inn (Stratton) and live Jazz at The Falcoln and all around Bude in International Jazz week at the end of August every year
  • There is a charity event taking place on Saturday 23rd July 2005 in aid of educating children in Africa. It is at The Break, The Headland, Bude. Starts at 9pm through til 2am, the dress code is Black and White, £5.00 per ticket, muisc is DANCE ANTHEMS AND DANCE CLASSICS.
  • In on the Green and Ricks bar at the Manor have some awsome live stuff. DJ Samo and Max speed.
  • In on the green. There is a distinct lack of venues in bude which is a waste as bude has a lot of home grown talent.
  • Inn on the green and the manor. look out for Max Speed (pretty rockin!)
  • Hey what about the annual Bude Jazz Festival - just as famous!
  • Ocean caves
  • Nowhere, apart from the annual Bude Surf and Rock festival. Space and Catatonia, along with Dave Pearce, Scratch & Vern, and K Klass. Should be good.

Cinemas

  • Nearest cinema is the Rainbow at Poundstock. Budes last cinema was The Headland (where Somerfield supermarket now stands)
  • I think the info about the Rebel should definitely be amended. Although the variety of films is limited, the area is so lucky to sport such a bizarre little place. It has a lovely intimate feel, reminiscent of when early cinemas began to spring up in all sorts of places. If you don't support it you'll lose it and that would be a crying shame.
  • Local Cinema out at Poundstock in an old Barn
  • In response to these messages: Cinemas Just dont go there. the rebel but its just like a big tv no really its the smallest cinema ever The Rebel at Poundstock - bout 5 miles from Bude The information you give is a little misleading. The Rebel Cinema at Poundstock is Bude's Cinema, yes it is small, but the majority of times very busy. Films played there are not two months old. Very often release films are played and if not on release 3 three weeks later. I would be grateful if you would amend your information. M Collard Publicity manager for the rebel. Don't be so borring there's pubs, night clubs and beach parties to go to. You don't come to Bude for the cinemas Rebel Rainbow Cinema, Poundstock. The nearest cinema is about 5 miles away and is small (only one screen). Shows the BIG films! but two months after they're released elsewhere. I think The Rebel provides a stirling service to the town of Bude. Please remember just how wide an area this cinema covers - the next closest cinema is at least an hours drive away! It is such a shame that these negative comments have to be amongst the first that appear through Google as I'm sure the Rebel staff have worked extremely hard to run this cinema for our benefit. The service is always exemplary & the cinema itself is a pleasure to view films in - long may it continue to be so.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Bude. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Bude.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
