• Clarks shoes and Walters have great selection of shoes and always something a bit different. Clarks really good fashion and not too expensive.
• PEACOCKS IS GREAT FOR CHRISTMAS JUMPERS FOR YOUR OLD MAN AND THEY ALSO SELL WOMENS BELLY WARMERS
• SECONDS AHEAD IS GREAT FOR CHEAP CLOTHES ! (IF YOU LIKE TO DRESS LIKE A GIMP)
• double overhead in station hill. classic surf clothes and skateboards
• Forget it....most young people use catalogues to judge from their apperance..and the fact that they dress 3 years out of date.
• New Look has to be the best in Porthcawl
• Few good surf shops. Two new ones. Check out Double Overhead in station hill, where Black Rock used to be. Also Rush Extreme Sports by Griffin Park (Station Hill), but it don't sell many clothes.
• Forget it Fashion is 2-15 years behind,unless you like 80s fashion go to Cardiff or Swansea where they have 'sub culture' shops
• Bellissima's nice - not all that overpriced surfy crap - how do those shops survive? (R)
• All for OAP's! Oxfam is the height of fashion in this town, go to Cardiff.
• If you like OXFAM. Or if you want some shit clothes for your shit night out, try New Look (for that really new cheap look)
• Limited if you are not a surfer/skateboarder, or old.

• All pretty poor, apart from Virgos in John Street arcade.
• The three surf shops aren't bad .

Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)

• IN THE QUEENS THERE ARE WITCH CRAFT LESSONS THERE EVERY WEEKEND AT 7 O'CLOCK. JUST TURN UP AND BE TAKEN AWAY BY THEIR POWERS OF EVIL. IF YOUR LUCKY THEY MIGHT TURN YOU INTO A FROG.
• THERES ONE AT THE END OF JHON STREET WHERE YOU CAN BUY THE LATEST BONG PIPES N STUFF.

• drama in porthcawl comp amaazing i reccomend it to anyone and we have brilliant teachers at the school (only drama ones) that really teach u about life send ure children to porthcawl comp if u want them to get on in drama, we have amazing school shows lots of fun and all because of Mr Burnell cheers sir
• there is this art shop near the pavillion which is great for getting stuff for projects and stuff.
• brill art shop/picture frames/art gallery on nolton street bridgend.Sells everything you need for school,or college to do with art. Artists materials, potfolios, drawing equip etc... Very friendly and helpfull staff and if you ask nicely and say your a student they will even give you a discount. Also shows work by local artists and sells in their upstairs walkround gallery.....Take a look i think you will be plesently surprised.

• The Silures art gallery is on South Road, never been there myself. There's a good art shop in the road near woolworths with all the chip shops in.

• try john st arcade, especially the upstairs
• Again, Virgos is a quaint shop, selling all kinds of Africa statues, jewellery, and the like.
• Try the museum on John Street.

Magazine and Comic Shops

• Spar in John Street will give you plenty of Sleezy comics for those lonely nights in (when your bike has gone home)

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
