Skateboarding Spots
By the life boat house
Indoor Skating next to Harbour
Alas! the old ramp provided by the council is long gone.
TRY THE COMP AND BY THE SUBWAY
The skatepark is ok, but I prefer just out on the street making ramps. nearish locvks lane is a good spot.
Porthcawl comp now has a new flight of 4, and a cool wall to path gap which can be attacked both ways (up and down). Weekends only, bust on weekdays. The skatepark just got a new ramp and flyoff, resurfacing and further changes in progress.
There is now an indoor skate park in Porthcawl called PADS its in the old Jennings Building and it has wooden ramps etc etc its about £2 all day £1 for half a day its by the harbour
The comp is crap since lots of stoopid halls have been built hence destroying the good bits!
I think a skatepark may open soon
just thought that i would mention that the skating spot in porthcawl comp is no more !the steps have been taken down and it is rubbish for skaters now!just thought i would tell you!! bye
There used to be one (30x12x10) in my backgarden, but my neighbours are very pleased it's been moved to somebody else's.
The prom now it's been done up
The comprehensive is school is about the best. It has a smooth, mellow bank going from about 1ft to 3ft, a set of three steps with the bottom on waxed and a small handrail on them. The steps are in the middle of the banks and the bank on the other side of the steps has a rough surface. Too many rollerbladers and a Nazi caretaker with an alsation make this place a bust. Try on Sundays though. Not many other spots just skate around and find out or try Swansea or Cardiff.
Skateboard Shops
Rush
DOUBLE OVERHEAD AND RUSH:EXTREME SPORTS. BOTH R CLASSIC. GO 2 DOUBLE OVERHEAD FIRST COS THEY HAVE A BETTER SELECTION OF BOARDS AND TRUCKS. IT IS IN STATION HILL. RUSH IS OPPISITE GRIFFIN PARK WHICH IS REAL CLOSE TO OVERHEAD.
Rush, Double Overhead. Overhead (By the other surf shops) has some good decks - Birdhouse, Blind and has bones bearings but the trucks and wheels aren't the best. Rush has got loadsa decks, like The Firm and I think I even saw a Powell Brite Lite deck. But crap selection of trucks and wheels. They got grind King and Independant trucks and thats it. I only saw 1 set of wheels, Bones. Few nice wallets and the bearings are cool. I totally reccomend Lucky speedline.
well not to keep bringing it up but again rush extreme sports a few half ok boards a cool guy in there take a look ... and a balance board to have a go on
Cardiff and Swansea again
Try the only decent one - Blackrock !!!
Some surf shops on station hill which sell boards. (at least they used to)
You could try Bridges which sells loads, including skate stuff - it's where I got my first pair of rollerblades!!
It's opposite Woolworths
Bridges sell a lot of rollerblade equipment
Spot X and Porthcawl Marine both sell a few things but Spot X is better.
