• The author Fred Archer lived and wrote about life in Ashton Mat Cope and Tim Skinner are modern day legends of Ashton Richard, the milkman, 51 years of Ashton man and boy, delivering milk before half of you have got up for 25 years
• None that I know of, but I did meet Noddy Holder's daughter at a gig (Finlay, V. GOOD INDEED) and she was lurvely!
• Mrs. Teletubby has moved to Beckford, but the most famous person in Ashton has to be Mr. Gerry Barnett as he always has a say in the local rag.

Buskers, Street Entertainers

• Theo Smith is abit of a clown these days, a very funny one though. Saunders is quite the entertainer with violent out bursts when the name 'Rosie Barnett' is mentioned. he thinks he is a man whore but actually he kinda sucks cock.he like to tickle jon's ear! Damian williamson has rather a large character (we emphasise the word large). he is also Known as 'Big Dame' or 'pudding'. i have to admit though, he definitly has the best crossing ability out of all us footballers! Then there is Mike Langridge who likes to buy things that other people already have, just to be the same as them. he's a good lad though. after that there is 'i can do a method' Bob.He was gutted when he found out that Damian Williamson had bought a maglite for a fiver from Magpie, when he'd payed £25. then he realised that Damian hadn't even paid that when he noticed his had gone missing as well.Magpie my ass! James Nicholls well were do i start he is probaly one of the clumbsiest person when it comes to racing bikes. He is more clumbsy than the local drunk who is yet to be identified.(Sam Cope)

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
