The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else

  • Q:What do you say to a scouser in a BMW? A:"STOP, THIEF!" Q:What do you call a scouser in a mansion? A:A burglar.
  • The riverfront in front of the Liver building is beautiful at 6.00 on a summer morning when waiting for a ferry.
  • Watch out for professional beggars and that. They're ruining the city centre, but the police have apparently launched a crackdown on these paracites of modern society.
  • All the obvious Beatles nonsense form the musem on Albert Dock to the re-constructed Cavern club on Mathew Street (avoid the place at night) - there's also tons of pubs down there like Lennons, Rubber Soul etc thought the only good one is The Grapes
  • invicta hi-fi is an underground pop label based in liverpool. check it out at http://www.invictahifi.co.uk
  • Visitors to Liverpool are guaranteed to like it, especially the people. Of course, everywhere south of Liverpool (apart from the Wirral) is inferior to everything north - a day or two in Southport can be fun - especially to laugh at the Manc wannabes.
  • FOR WRITERS AND POETS. The ideal venue for visiting scribes is the Liverpool Central Library, William Brown St (between the Museum and the Walker Art Gallery). THE INKLINGS(one of Merseyside's premier - well, we think so - writers groups) meets here every Wednesday in the Roscoe room. 1pm to 3pm. Visitors welcome (real time & on-line). • Q. What do you call people that have never been to Liverpool, who think all Scousers (Espcially those in suits) are robbers? A. Brainwashed by the media and unable to make up their own opinions.
  • Oxfam in Bold Street! Classiest clothes store in town....?
  • Good hotels are TRIALS (no evening resaturant tho') and the new CREST PLAZA; the Moat house seems to have gone downhill recently; The Atlantic was never up the hill! Liverpool still has pubs which have middle-aged people in them out for a drink and a chat and no loud music!!! I thought that you weren't allowed in a pub now if you were over the age of 19!!!
  • What do you call a scouse in a suit? -- The accused
  • Of course you had the Beatles and they live on. Visit the Docks where Richard and Judy are (or were). Take a trip on the Magical Mystery Tour. Go on the ferry across the Mersey. Visit Mathew Street in Town where you have great pubs and nightlife... The Cavern club, Johns's bar, The Cavern etc. Great nightlife in Liverpool... especially in the town centre.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Liverpool. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Liverpool.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
