Clothes Shops, Shoe Shops, Fashion and Bargains
Ahmed's on the market is the best in fourteen-year old fashion
Plenty of cheap women's clothes shops which is ideal as there are plenty of cheap women. Although I did buy a shiny shirt from M&S which I returned for a full refund and I also bought a fine pair of boxer shorts from Next which the ladies liked.
Loads. Look on merseyway to find all common high street names, such as New Look. Stay here for sports shops as well, although the Peel centre is worth a look for sports clothes and gear. Look on Underbank and Hillgate for clothes shops of a different kind (Cobwebs is worth a good look, sells fetish gear).
Cobwebs, Hillgate - Sells great goth/fetish clothing. The main reason I ever go to Stockport.
All the usual High Street shops, plus great one offs such as NS2, Control and Dollybird.
Arts, crafts and such (Anything from pukka art galleries to craft shops. Trendy and twee both welcome.)
Try Houldsworth Mill for craft shops.
Two CrafT Shops in Houldsworth Mill Shopping Village. The Crafty Pair who specialise in Cardmaking and Scrapbooking to Inspirations who stock all kinds of Polymer Clay, tools and accessories such as Fimo and Premo to Pasta machines and Extruders

The specialist comic place closed down but there's loads of discount book shops in town.
Loads of these, just look to the many thousands of newsagents present in this town.
The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!
In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor
(the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!
If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.
If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.
