Cringing Cult of Celebrity (Famous residents and ex-residents.)

• Sarah Parish, that actress in 'cutting it'.
• Nige Dodge - (famous base guitarist from "0898", and "Above and Beyond") still lives in the town.
• Goldie was in Yeovil the other day you know. He went into GlobeTrotters for lunch and then went home again
• Bruce Soord, vocalist/guitarist in Pineapple Thief...very up and coming group that will embark on an international tour this year. Bruce lives on King Street. Absolutely brilliant songwriter, singer and musician...if not the best known resident of Yeovil, will be soon!!
• Ian Botham, ex-Cricketer and do-gooder. Although he went to Buckler's Mead (like me), he was expelled (not like me) although Buckler's still have a picture of him on the wall (last time I checked was the late 90s though)
• The lovable Dave Lee from the Gardens in 1991 (catchphrase 'No Glove No love'). You were'nt clever then and you aint clever now. This also applies to the DJs playing in Yeovils pubs and clubs now, you know who you are.
• Craig Charles of Red Dwarf and Robot Wars fame(?) lives near Ch##d.
• Paddy Gonksoff (ex-leader of the valiant and defeated Lib. Dems before that fat ginger bastard).
• PJ Harvey went to art school in Yeovil (and played many of her fledgling gigs on these shores). I think her dad runs the quarrying company at local Ham Hill. Ian Botham (England cricket all rounder in the '80s / and star of BBC's 'A Question of Sport") went to school at Bucklers Mead comprehensive.
• they all live next door in Sherborne

Buskers, Street Entertainers

• There isn't many Street Entertainers around, but plenty of beggars playing tunes for money.
• some good entertainers, alot of scrounging gits. be careful.
• In the sweet days of summer,BLOODY THINGS ARE EVERYWHERE.

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.
